Check out this incredible article giving insight into the state of affairs in the nation Nigeria. The writer listened to what TB Joshua said in yesterday’s service and watched as the events unfolded accordingly.

By Nosa Osazuwa

The nation of Nigeria was in a state of limbo, a standstill going into Sunday 15th January 2012, as talks between the Federal Government and labour unions in an attempt to come to a consensus on the issue of fuel subsidies and protests, ended in an unsatisfactory deadlock.

The discussions on Saturday evening which lasted for hours in order to resolve the petrol price crisis which had caused a nationwide strike for five days was inconclusive as both sides acknowledged that they had been unable to come to a place of compromise. Talks were postponed again ‘till Sunday night, leaving Nigerians unsure of what the coming week might hold – whether continued protests nationwide or a compromise from the president and the government, or something else.

TB Joshua

On Sunday morning, while Nigerians were worrying about what the outcome of the crisis might be, many still afraid to venture out of the safety of their homes, Pastor TB Joshua, of The Synagogue, Church Of All Nations, Ikotun Egbe, Lagos, addressed the issue directly during his sermon, broadcast live via his TV station, Emmanuel TV.

He said that Nigeria had prayed and hoped. But that one thing that was yet to be done was to apply love. He quoted, 1 Corinthians 13:13 – There are only 3 things – faith, hope and love. The greatest is love. “Since the greatest thing is love, we need to make the greatest sacrifice. Our president is the person who should make the greatest sacrifice. The other participants will follow”, TB Joshua asserted.

Addressing the nation, he said: “My message to the nation, to you Nigeria – is compromise. Love is compromise – to give chance for peace in the interests of the nation. To compromise means we must shift ground.”

He further said: “We should not give the impression of embarrassing the president and the other participants in the crisis. To achieve this easily, our president must rely more on politicians than on technocrats”.

Towards the end of his sermon, TB Joshua once again reassured his nation of Nigeria, saying:

“The nation Nigeria and people of Nigeria – the issue of the crisis, put it behind you. You say that you are not going on Monday, that you think you’ll be restricted. No. I think God is on top. God is in control.”

Later on Sunday night, the Nigerian government sent mixed messages. Many Nigerians sat glued to their television sets, awaiting a message from the president yet none came. Talks were postponed again and Nigerians went to bed unsure of what the morrow might bring forth.

The tables turned on Monday 16th January 2012, when early in the morning, the news was released nationwide that a consensus had been reached and an agreement had finally been made.

Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan said in an address to the nation that petrol prices would be reduced to 97 naira a litre. That is a reduction of about 35 percent but it still remains higher than the 65 naira per litre Nigerians paid before the government ended the fuel subsidy at the beginning of the year. That is, he had come to a place of compromise.

“The Government will continue to pursue full deregulation of the downstream petroleum sector. However, given the hardships being suffered by Nigerians, and after due consideration and consultations … the government has approved the reduction of the pump price of petrol,” said Goodluck Jonathan in a televised address Monday morning.

In response, labour unions promptly agreed to suspend mass protests to allow further negotiations with the government.

The questions that might spring to many minds are, was it all just a co-incidence or did the president listen to the counsel from TB Joshua and act according to it? Did TB Joshua send a message to the president, giving him God’s opinion on the crises at hand?

It doesn’t take Albert Einstein to see the connection between TB Joshua’s words and the action taken later that day by the President and the Federal Government.

TB Joshua is a renowned minister known world over, particularly for his prophetic ministry and his humanitarian services. Most recently, it was said that he had accurately predicted the street protests in Nigeria, stating in October 2011 that he could see people protesting from street to street, from state to state. He mentioned that the people that really make this economy work, the grassroots would soon be on the street and that the nation would come to a standstill as the big men would wonder how they could do the job by themselves.

One might ask, if the president and Nigerians had listened to this prophecy at the time it was given and sought advice on how to handle the crisis, we might not have lost the billions of naira that the catastrophe cost our nation. Perhaps our president should learn from the leaders and kings of old, who always sought God’s opinion from a prophet regarding the matters of the nation.

Wise Man Christopher

Wise Man Christopher

Wise Man Christopher, with his usual fervour, issued his message which he titled, ‘The Weapons Of Our Warfare’ to the congregation and cited many portions of the Bible to make his case clear. In his words, the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but spiritual through God in pulling down every demonic stronghold. The Word, he clarified, is not on the written page of the Bible but in the lips of the believers.  As Christians, you need to fill your mind and heart with the Word to speak it.  In Matthew 4 : 1-11, Jesus gave Christians  the battle plan when He spoke directly to the devil in the wilderness. You need to learn the value of God’s Word on your lips to confront the devil victoriously. In Ephesians 6:17, the Bible tells us that those who overcome satan will be required to use the power of the spoken Word. David, in 1 Samuel 17:45 – 50 used the Word of God in his heart as a weapon to defeat Goliath. David’s first victory was therefore in the choice of the right weapon, which was the Word of God on his lips. As Christians, Jesus has given us the Word of God as a special weapon that no power of satan can withstand. Whatever your giant or mountain, you, as a Christian, can address it with the Word of God and achieve total victory. Prayer in the power of the Holy Spirit is the most formidable weapon, the wise man concluded his message.

WOMAN EFFECTUALLY DELIVERED FROM EATING HER HAIR

A week after her deliverance, Mrs Josephine Eseme Jimmy, standing beside her husband, happily gave thanks to God for her deliverance as, according to her, the urge to eat her hair had completely disappeared.  Josephine came to The SCOAN the previous Sunday for deliverance from addiction to eating her hair, including those on her head, armpits and private parts.  She said the addiction took form after she heard a voice ordering her to eat her hair. The unusual behaviour was cultivated before her marriage and had continued since then for a length of 23 years. After her confession, Josephine was delivered in the mighty name of Jesus by Prophet T.B. Joshua who told her that she was free and would not eat her hair anymore. She said that in her dream two days after the deliverance, the demon appeared to her to lure her to the old act but immediately, the man of God also appeared and the demon ran in fear. The man of God then held her and she woke from sleep. That was the end of her addiction to eating her hair.  The couple thanked the prophet one more time for being used by Jesus to bring about her deliverance. In reaction, the prophet once more established the difference between authority and power. In his words, knowing facts about Jesus does not change your relationship with Him. He however added that your reward for a relationship with Jesus is power.

SPIRITUAL HUSBAND’S HOLD RELEASED IN JESUS’ NAME

A video clip on the events of the previous Sunday service showed Wise Man Daniel as he laid hands on the congregants. A woman among them,Mrs Alberta Boakye from Ghana reacted by manifesting the spiritual husband in her.

The spirit, speaking through her, said Alberta was his wife who disobeyed her to marry an earthly husband. The spirit added that it had destroyed the husband’s ministry for that reason. The spirit also said their second child could not learn because of the punishment by the spiritual husband. She was then delivered after prayer from Wise Man Daniel. Standing by her pastor husband as she gave her testimony, Alberta revealed that she sensed the spiritual husband in her life at the age of 16 when it used to have sex with her in her dreams. The spirit had been a thorn in their marriage of ten years, causing her to inflict emotional pain on her husband all the time. Under the influence of the spirit, she became the husband and took delight in issuing orders to her husband and beating him. She was however relieved to be free after her deliverance.

In response to the prophet, Pastor Nicholas the husband chronicled all the shameful treatment his wife inflicted on him under the influence of the spiritual husband. She would wake up and ask her husband in the dead of night to clean the house and wash the dishes. When she knew it was fasting time for her husband, she would deliberately set food before him to break the fast unjustifiably. Either she would meet the husband in the church to fight and embarrass him or prevent him by force from going to church after he was ready. On such occasions, the pastor whose church had branches in other countries, would call his fellow pastors in the church to ask them to carry on as he was still ‘waiting on God’. He lost his congregation to other churches and the branches closed because of the wife’s abnormal behaviour.  A king of the community who attended his church withdrew his membership because of the wife’s behaviour. After praying for the deliverance of the pastor, Prophet T.B. Joshua assured him that he would assist him to reactivate his ministry and re-open the branches. Asked to comment on her husband’s confession, Alberta, in unmistakable remorse said, ‘I feel bad and sad’ and bemoaned satan for all that her husband had suffered in her hands. Prophet T.B. Joshua ended the episode by explaining that it was the evil spirit inside the wife that was responsible and now that she was delivered, her husband should not remind her of the past.

MAN DELIVERED FROM THE SPIRIT OF MASTURBATION

Mr Solomon Ogheneovo

A man from Delta, Nigeria, Solomon Ogheneovo by name, told the congregation of himself as a victim of the spirit of masturbation for 24 years. He thought that getting married would stop the embarrassing act but in fact, it continued. Even after marriage, he masturbated at least every day. After unsuccessful efforts, which included fasting and prayer, on his part to stop it, he finally decided to seek the face of the Lord in The SCOAN. After receiving the Anointing Water, he gathered his family and they prayed with it. That prayer, according to him, marked the end of his masturbation. He thanked God for using the prophet to bring an end to this torment in his life.

ANOINTING WATER RESTORES MENSTRUATION

Mrs Mercy Anthony

Mrs Mercy Anthony told listeners how she regained her menstruation which ceased for seven years, completely unresponsive to her efforts to reactivate it.  She said a good Samaritan gave her a virtually empty bottle of the Anointing Water which she topped with water, prayed with and ministered on herself. Following that, her menstruation miraculously reappeared. She ended her testimony by advising all her listeners to trust God who has an answer to whatever problems they might have.

ANOINTING WATER RESTORES MEMORY AND FETCHES PROMOTION

Rahamat Yusuf Suleiman had an accident in April which, among other injuries, affected her memory. This affected her reading and preparation for her promotion examination in her workplace. The result was that she failed the examination and was denied promotion. After efforts elsewhere to find a cure had failed, she sent a friend to The SCOAN for the Anointing Water.

On receiving the Anointing Water, she prayed with it and sprayed it on herself, particularly her forehead. Soon after, to her amazement, she vomited an earthworm. The Anointing Water gave her total healing and following her prayer with it before going for another promotion examination in her workplace, she found the questions the same as the ones she had read, making her pass the examination with ease. As she gave her testimony, Rahamat displayed her promotion letter which was the outcome of her success in the examination.  Rahamat advised her listeners to go to the Lord always for a solution to their problems.

Two of the many states in Nigeria that were visited by The Emmanuel TV Team were Yobe and Borno in the far north of the country. The team set off with two trailers each filled to capacity with rice and flour, in addition to cash gifts. The venue for the meeting with the Emmanuel TV  Team was General Hospital Leprosy Centre, Maiduguri. People gathered from all around Borno State to attend the meeting.

The team sent by T.B. Joshua presented the community leaders with cash gifts and the bags of rice were distributed among everyone, regardless of race, faith or background. The Bible teaches us that we should love our neighbours as ourselves. In the same vein, various gifts were also dispatched to the needy and elderly people in Kremenchuk, Ukraine. In the Asian continent, Lahore, Pakistan was also visited with bags of rice, flour and other gift items.

FINANCIAL AID TO VISUALLY IMPAIRED STUDENTS

In the course of the service, five visually impaired students from the University of Jos were led to the platform where they narrated their financial problems as students, one after another.

Yakubu, a student of Special Education and Rehabilitation Sciences, was the first to bare his mind about his financial needs as a student and concluded that he needed the sum of N92,000.00 to pay his school fees and solve other problems as a student.  The rest, in turn, also spoke, explaining that as students, even the money to release their results was hard to come by. Upon listening to their complaint, the prophet directed that their needs be met. Consequently, a total sum of N284,300.00 and bags of rice were disbursed among them.

MASS PRAYER FREES ALL

T.B Joshua

Praying in the power of the Holy Spirit, Prophet T.B. Joshua led the congregation and viewers worldwide in a powerful time of mass prayer. Many vomited the poisons long buried in their systems, thus receiving their freedom. The prophet prayed for the total release of his listeners in many areas of their lives, including their finances, businesses, marital lives among others. He also prayed for the restoration of their destinies and health. In the course of the mass prayer, the prophet issued prophecies to some people who, in reaction came forward to confirm the prophecies. Confirming that the entire congregation had been delivered and was free, the prophet proceeded to say the grace and bring the service to a close.

Another remarkable and intriguing article found in The Synagogue Church Of All Nation’s latest publication of ‘Read Us’. Although the contents are not for the faint of heart and contains some shocking revelations, the lessons therein are fundamental and important for every Christian. Remember, there is no neutral kingdom and life is too short to waste time on perishable things that have no lasting value and significance. Let this experience serve as an incentive for you to love God above all other considerations and dedicate your heart completely to Him!

IT sounds like a fairy-tale. Most would pass it for a creative, fictitious and surreal account of supernatural experiences, not to be taken literally. But this is a true confession. It’s the account of a man who lived for over 20 years in a world of darkness and devilry. A man who knew the tricks and traits of the satanic kingdom like the back of his hand and is now ready to expose their dark secrets after receiving his freedom.

Before you read, brace yourself. The contents are shocking but the lessons fundamental. The spiritual world is real. We are in a real battle between good and evil. And confessing Christianity is not just enough – we must commit our lives to God totally.

In this exclusive interview with Read Us, an ex-wizard exposes his former kingdom.

Background
“My name is Adebisi Jude Solomon. I am from Kogi State of Nigeria and I’m 43. I was born into a family of seven. We are only three left – I don’t know the whereabouts of the other two. My father was a pagan and one of the community leaders. He didn’t believe in going to either church or mosque. He was among those who wanted to live their own life in the sentiment of their own understanding.

“As for me, I didn’t care for any religion. I just lived my life the way I liked it. I had authority of my own self – no one told me I should do this or that. The sentiment from my own childhood was that I believed in self-government, self-principle of living. I just wanted to live my life; nobody should displease me and I won’t displease anybody.

The Initiation
“When I got into the University of Ilorin, Kwara State, I studied Science Laboratory. At that time, I didn’t know about living without a girlfriend. So, I had many affairs with girls. In this process, I came across a lady who initiated me.

“You will not be told you are going to be initiated. You will just have an affair with the person. But she knows you better than yourself – she can tell much about you, your whereabouts, your physical and spiritual backgrounds. They have been monitoring you. In the spiritual kingdom, they monitor people. They see your star, your glory, everything regarding your living. There is no area of your life that is not being studied. It was after my initiation that I got to know I’ve been initiated by having fun with her physically. It’s through a sexual relationship. When you are initiated, they will submit your sperm into the kingdom. That has given them room into your life.

A Bloody Contribution
“I began to see myself in a strange area I did not know. It started from a dream. They will be asking you to bring something – you have to pay an attribute, which is blood. You will see it as if it’s a dream, but it’s a reality. It will only become clear to your own understanding when you have paid with that blood.

“It started with an accident. I found myself involved in an accident inside a car in a dream – but it was a reality. A week later I was in a car and had an accident. Many people died but I had no injury. That is the first level you enter. You begin to observe that now you are no more just a physical being. That is the process by which you find yourself in the spiritual world.

Ex-Wizard

An ex-wizard reveals the darkest secrets of his former kingdom

Joining a Cult
“In this process, I joined a cult – the ‘Agu’ cult. The same girl will take you to the cult. You need protection. They will begin to threaten your life, saying that you need to protect yourself by joining this cult – though they will tell you it’s a gang. You have to do an oath. The oath involves physical blood. They are the ones to bring blood, so you take an oath that you will not betray them. Then you drink the blood. That is another empowerment.

“By then you will begin to cause crises in the school. You begin to shed blood by using an axe or gun to kill people, especially confronting members of other cults. Whoever you kill, that blood is contributed spiritually and increases your level. So both the spiritual and the cult are working hand in hand. There is no cult or herbalist that is not working hand-in-hand with the spiritual world. That is where they get their powers. You don’t invoke powers naturally, it’s from the spiritual world and it will now manifest in the physical.

Another World
“I began to observe physically that I can sleep for two or three days. You may come in and ask what happened to this person – but I am not there. I am not lying down there but I’m in the other world. You are lying down physically but you are there spiritually. People will think you are sick or sleeping.

“Everything you see in the physical, there is something happening spiritually. Before it can happen physically, it has happened spiritually. Before anything will happen to you, it will first of all manifest in the spirit world – because that is what controls human beings. That is, your spirit-being controls you. That’s why sometimes when you are thinking about things – you will begin to have three different thoughts. One will be whispering to you gently, one will be giving you a harsh command and the other one will be saying – I don’t know the one to do. The one speaking harshly with authority is not from God, the one whispering to you gently is from God. Your own is the one asking – which do I choose? It’s now left for you to decide.

Biological Blood
“I was asked to bring my sisters, so I thought it was to initiate them. Once you are initiated, you can initiate others – by sleeping with them. The power with me was that of causing accident. I was directed to go there with them. We entered the car together to Ilorin. In the process of coming to Ilorin, we had an accident. The two of them died instantly, and many other people died. I was hospitalised. I was not really injured physically, but they will make you like someone in a coma. They know what they are doing.

Fake Coma and Spiritual Carriers
“People will think you are in coma and they will carry you to the hospital. Most of the people that will carry me to the hospital are not human beings. They will come in the midst of multitudes like human beings, and come and pick me – this is my brother, let’s rush him to the hospital. They walk in the ranks of human beings. They may enter into somebody to go and use the person for that purpose. The person may finish doing what they want him to do and he will begin to ask what have I done? He doesn’t know. Most of the people after the deliverance, they ask – what happened? They don’t know. They will enter into a person, carry me to the hospital and after two or three days, I will be released. In that process, I lost my two sisters. I was promoted.

A Ladder of Blood
“In the period you are lying down in the hospital, you are in the spirit-world. Physically they say you are in a coma but you are in the spiritual world. That is where I saw my two sisters. Anybody you kill, you will submit their blood – you will see him or her physically over there. They are the steps of a ladder. Each person killed through you increases your steps and each step you take is promotion. You will be given more spiritual power, and be exposed to more things of the spirit.

Demonic Anger
“I received two powers – because it was my two sisters. I was given transformation and I was given anger. Then I was very quick to get angry. I will get easily offended because the spirit in me was pushing me to get angry. When you step on me or offend me, you will make me angry – I will definitely do something involving your blood. Like if the person is pregnant, you can take the pregnancy, the baby inside the womb, and give her a stone, or plant a fibroid in her. If people are not spiritually alert, you will cause much damage to her.

Spiritual Sickness
“When you see anybody discovering a fibroid, or having symptoms he is not used to – don’t leave him or abandon her, saying, ‘It’s a common thing’. It’s not. You don’t know the affliction or the kind of person she has encountered that has poisoned her life by anything planted in her body. That thing will begin to eat her gradually. Gradually she is dying.

“Many afflictions you see today are not natural. There is nobody that is born with sickness. Sickness or affliction or diseases today – we call it ‘gift’ in the spiritual world. You go and give this person a gift. That gift will begin to trouble him. I will still advise the people – it’s not everyone that gives you a gift that you should accept. Many of the gifts they give to you physically are spiritually possessed, a point of contact whereby when you take it to your house or put it on your body as clothes or eat it as a food, it will affect you.

Transformation
“I can change from male to female, both physically and spiritually. When they have monitored somebody and want me to get them, they will come to you physically to give you an instruction. You and I could be looking at this wall now, and they are giving me instructions – but you will not see it. That is why some people, you will just be discussing with them but they will not be hearing what you are saying. You will think they are thinking of something, but they are busy listening to their master giving them instruction.

“So they will give you instruction. For example, they know your girlfriend. Every girlfriend you have – they know her. I will transform to your girlfriend’s image and come to you physically. The appearance will be exactly the same. Spiritually, they will make sure the girl can’t turn up. She can’t come that way when you are there sleeping with him. That’s how I can initiate men as well.

Spiritual Initiation
“In the spiritual aspect, you can initiate someone in the dream. You will just observe – there’s somebody sleeping with you, having an affair in the dream. The appearance of the person they will bring will be familiar to you – maybe an ex-boyfriend or girlfriend. You just use their image to go to him, if you observe the physical is tight.

“We also go to the beach or swimming pool – it’s another point of initiation. Before you will be convinced to go there, there is something they have planted in that water. When you are swimming, water penetrates into your system. Your skin is open. So the things that have been planted there will be transferred into your skin and it will affect your blood system. Immediately you come into the water, they are seeing you in the spiritual world. It’s like they are baptising you. The more you initiate people, the more it increases your position.

Tempting Tactics
“To bring down a spiritual person, they will make sure they first weaken him or her. He will just get tired, exhausted and he will not pray before he sleeps. And they will tempt the person to commit sin. They will push the person to drink. Some people will enter into a beer parlour – they only take one bottle of drink but you see them more intoxicated than the rest of the people. That bottle you drink is not one bottle. An agent is there who will take all the drinks others are drinking and put them into that person’s belly. In this state, he commits sin. He has gone against his God. Or they will entice you to blaspheme against God, or have you develop a high sense of pride in yourself.

“They will bring some ladies around you to manipulate you, to seduce you. Where do the girls come from? The kind of lady that comes into your office – who is she? Gradually she just begins to control you. You feel seduced. You go out and ease yourself. Before you come back, what has she done in your office? You will be pushed to lock the office, then you commit fornication or immorality in your office, and you say nobody is seeing you. If you close the whole office, do you close the eyes of God?

The Power Of Monitoring
“Sometime later, I submitted my brother. They asked for him. It was through a road accident too – a motorbike. They commanded another car to hit the two of us. I survived – they found me on the other road inside the gutter with minor injuries. He died. I was promoted again. I was given the power of monitoring, because my brother was the closest person to me. One thing is that your emotions will die. You don’t have any emotions. I didn’t have any emotions for any human being. I didn’t have time for human beings. It was not only my brother who died in that accident, but the thing that will crown you is if it is your own blood. With the power of monitoring, when someone is coming towards you, you will know if this is a human being or a spirit. You will see.

Satanic Symbols
“Every kingdom has its own symbol. Witchdoctors are different from witches. And there are some people who are under witch-possession – witchcraft is tormenting them, but they are not possessed. The one that is a witch – he will have his symbol. It will be like a garment on him or her. If it is a witchdoctor, the symbol will be on his face. For some, you will physically be seeing them walking with their feet – but they are not. They are floating.

“Whatever you see from your kingdom, you would be able to understand. When a person is under witchcraft torment, you as a familiar spirit don’t go there, because somebody is taking care of it. You will target those who are strong Christians.

The Fiery Indicator
“For Christians, there is a flame of fire that surrounds them. Such person, you can’t harm him spiritually. They will just be tempting him. When he falls into that temptation, that is the point of penetration. The fire reduces. Gradually, they will reduce it until it becomes empty and that’s when they now strike.

“Even if you are strong, you will be tempted. But do you give in? How do you yield to that temptation? It is your yielding that matters. Everybody will be tempted. As far as you are in this flesh, you will be tempted. The difference is that God will make a way of escape for you if you are a Christian.

“Every Christian is equal – it’s only we who call them names like ‘pastor’. But the flame of fire on each body is quite different. For some people it’s only on their head, not on their body. Because they are not spiritually alert. You can attack him. They are confessing Christians but not such in heart. They may believe but they are not ready to grow. You can see by the fire the level of the persons’ commitment to Christ.

“They will not send someone who is low in our kingdom to a big flame. There are some sets of people they send – level to level. There are levels in Christianity; there are levels in the spiritual world. Everything you are seeing in Christianity is happening in the spiritual world – in Jesus’ kingdom. But in our spiritual, ocult world, they don’t call the name Jesus Christ. We say, ‘the children of that man’. We are not used to it. It’s not something you call over there.

Receving deliverance

Receiving a powerful deliverance at The SCOAN after prayer in the power of the Holy Spirit!

The Spirit Of Money
“I was in the third level then. The fourth level was my dad. That’s when my dad was involved. Immediately the incident happens, you are picked in a coma, carried to your seat and that’s when they give you the new assignment. But they will give you an interval, a period so that people will not be suspicious. My dad was also involved in an accident. I was to celebrate my birthday and I convinced him to travel with me. We had an accident. I went into a coma, he died. I was then given the spirit of finance – money.

“When your finances are tampered with, your joy will be lost. They want to eat your joy. Even if you are a strong Christian or powerful pastor – when your finances are tampered with, you will be affected. So I had the power to tamper with other people’s finances and cause businesses to collapse. When you see people acquire money, and they are proud – that is also the spirit of money at work.

Tampering With Destiny
“There are some destined children whose joy they want to terminate. Not everyone is destined. Every child has their own destiny, but some people are more powerful than others. Those are our targets. In the power of monitoring, you see such people – the glory in them. The glory is like a star. The brighter the star, the greater the destiny.

“When you have a bulb outside a compound, you will see flies and insects flying from a distance to come to the light. If the light is not hot, the insects will cover it and everywhere will be dark. But if the light has heat, the insects will die. That is exactly what happens to every destined child. When you are a Christian, you have the fire – that is the difference. So if you are not a Christian and you are a destined child, the destiny will be covered. They will not fulfil their destiny.

“We have various kinds of leaders. Some people could be leaders in their own family, liberation to their own family financially or morally – they are destined. But they can reduce him if the insects have covered his light. That is why you see some leaders, after they have climbed to the top or are in a big position – at the end of their job or tenure in their office, what have they acquired or what do they have to show for it? They can still get to that position but not achieve anything tangible because the light has been covered. The light wants to break out but it has been dampened. At the end of their tenure, ask him – what did you acquire? What is your legacy? There will be nothing to write home about.

The Journey To Deliverance
“When God wants to do something for you, He will use every means – so that anything that could hinder it will not come that way. Let me say promptly it was the will of God for me to come here (The SCOAN), to be delivered. What led me here – I went to a place and they were showing Emmanuel TV. I watched someone’s testimony and said, “Why don’t I come here to get breakthrough for my finances?” I had to earn a living, because the money they give to you is not for yourself – it’s to give to people, to afflict them with sickness. I can’t use it for myself. So as a human being, I have to get money to eat and earn a living.

“When I entered the church on Sunday morning, the atmosphere was not conducive. They were trying to get me out of the area. When they observe the area you are in is not conducive, they will come to you to get you out. It was a battle. I fought the ushers that day. I wanted to leave, but they did not allow me. So I told them I wanted to go to the toilet. When I came out and got to the steps, the atmosphere outside was also not conducive. There was a spiritual battle going on. I went back inside.

Unwilling To Yield
“When they started worship, it was like a bell in my ears. When you are ringing a loud bell in somebody’s ear, it was really like that. In the process, the pastor (T.B. Joshua) came out. He prophesied there is a strong man here in our midst. I knew he saw me. Before he began the prayer, he said that there were some unwilling spirits, people that were unwilling to yield, that we should first of all pray for such people.

“As the prayer began, it was like fire was burning all around me. I didn’t know when I came out. I just found myself outside my chair. It was like when you throw someone into hot oil. I later saw myself somersaulting and the spirit left me. I actually felt it come out.

“Afterwards, everything became normal. I could see normally. My emotions returned and I started regretting. I felt like a human being. I began to feel sorry for the people who had died. I began to reason that really I have committed sin against humanity and against God.

Advice To Christians
“When you want to serve God – serve Him in truth and in spirit. If I may quote right – seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness. Forget about other things. Your mentality first should be the kingdom of God. The kingdom of God is not by physical appearances. It is by your inner mind, your spirit being. How do you fortify your spirit being? By living in righteousness, in truth. Let your yes be your yes; let your no be your no. Sincerity, honesty, genuineness.

“Be committed to God. And more over – what empowers you as a Christian is the name of Jesus Christ. Not only Jesus, but Jesus Christ. Conclude it with that name Christ. When you travel all over the world, you see some people bearing Jesus but nobody ever bears Christ. For God has highly exalted His name and He has given Him the name above every other name and every knee shall bow to that name. The second one is the blood of Jesus Christ.

No Turning Back
“Immediately after my deliverance, I received some inspirational songs. On Monday after my deliverance I went to the prayer mountain. I didn’t know how to pray. I’ve never prayed; I’ve never read the Bible. I met the evangelist there and asked him – how do I pray? What will I say? He told me – first of all thank God for saving you and delivering you. You can begin by singing. I asked him – which song shall I sing? Shall I sing reggae, or disco? He said, just open your heart to the Holy Spirit. I felt something like cold water pour on my head. I felt cold. Songs began to come to me. I began to see myself thanking God. I experienced joy, peace and comfort in me. The song that came to me said: ‘I have decided to follow Jesus – no turning back.’ I have taken my decision to follow Christ – no more going back!

Mr Jude stayed in The Synagogue, Church Of All Nations for over a month to receive God’s Word and learn His ways. Following his rehabilitation and reformation, he was given N200,000 to restart his life on the right foundation – with God Almighty.

Another moving story from Nigerian newspaper ‘The National Life’, detailing an incident in Akwa-Ibom state, and the way in which God used T.B. Joshua to intervene in the issue…

The joy of Ubong Enah Willie, a native of Ndoneyo in Onna Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State Nigeria, having completed his house suffered a fatal blow as tragedy struck his family and the team of prayer band invited to dedicate the house.

In the course of dedicating the house, two of Ubong’s children mysteriously dropped dead, while a pastor lapsed into coma, which ultimately took his life. Other members of the prayer band sustained serious injuries. Ubong, a spare part dealer explained that he had managed to make some savings from his meager income with which he purchased the land on which he built the house.

Ubong - Saved from the stigma of murder allegations

Ubong - Saved from the stigma of murder allegations

He revealed that he bought the land against prior warning by some men of God that he consulted about the dangers inherent in procuring the land and building on it. Tired of being hounded by landlords, Ubong said he over a period of time succeeded in erecting a 3-bedroom apartment on the said land.

Amidst savouring the joy of having become a landlord, Ubong explained that as a devout Christian, he invited a team of prayer warriors to cleanse the house of demonic and satanic powers and presence. Convinced of their divine anointing to uproot satanic powers, he said the pastors swung into action, binding and casting out demonic forces with him and his family members in attendance.

However, midway into the prayer session, Ubong said the whole exercise changed, and tragedy struck. According to him, he said that just as the prayers were going on, evil spirits invaded the building, shutting the doors and invincibly hitting everybody present with what was like a hammer, killing two of his four children instantly an leaving his wife and others seriously injured.

The pastor who led the prayers, he said died few days after while another member of the prayer team till date has lost sensation in his right hand. In his own words, the embattled Ubong said: “I bought the land with my hard earned money although I was warned against buying it. After the purchase, I went ahead to start building on it. At the end of the day, I was able to put up a 3-bedroom apartment. As a Christian who believes in committing everything into the hands of God, I invited some pastors to come and pray over the house before we move in.

“On the day that they came, my family and I were around. Surprisingly, as the prayer was going on, I just experienced a strange feeling all over me and I felt like I had rashes all over my body. As I was wondering over what was happening, others were also having their own very unpalatable experience. There was no way out for any of us because everywhere was locked. At the end of it all, my two children died immediately. One of the pastors died about three days after”

TB Joshua With The Family

TB Joshua - The ministry of reconciliation

Bassey Monday Udoh, another member of the prayer band explained that their mission to pray over Ubong’s new house was not the first time he would go out for such. Stunned by the bizarre experience, he recounted:” I have always gone out to pray for people in their houses and shops. Ubong’s case wasn’t the first time I went for such but it turned out to be a very terrible experience. While we were saying our prayers, some evil spirits just entered the house hitting me all over the body with something that felt like a hammer. I fell and it continued to hit me. After the medical attention that I received, I have lost feeling in my right hand. I have not been able to do anything with it since then and it still gives me serious pains. Apart from my hand, I have not been able to also reason very well as I used to do before now as a result of that demonic torture.”

Pointing to a particular part of his body, he said, “Look at this side of my head, (he shows it), hair has not grown there since the incident” As if the cruel blows he received were not enough, Ubong, who was still dazed by the incidence that still defies comprehension and still mourning the demise of his children and his beloved pastor, was in for another shock when the community accused him of killing his children and the pastor for money rituals.

Aside the pain of having lost his beloved ones, the community’s allegation festered the sore in Ubong’s heart as he faced threats of various forms, including banished from his fatherland. With his whole world apparently crashing, the saying that failure is an orphan dawned on him.

Despite losing his children and his pastor in a prayer session, Ubong’s faith in his creator remained firm. Without any one to lean on, he solidly believed that his God was capable of setting him free.

With this conviction, he left his home town for the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN) in Lagos. At SCOAN, he recounted that while Prophet T.B. Joshua was prophesying, he mentioned that there was a man present at the service who was alleged of murder and asked such person to come out.

The late pastors wife

The late pastors wife

Stunned by the correctness of the prophecy, Ubong said: “I just came here to pray for God to deliver me from my problems and show to my people that I was innocent of the allegation leveled against me. To my surprise, Prophet T.B. Joshua, in the course of his prophecy, narrated everything that happened. He said the person concerned was innocent and asked that such person should come out for prayers. I did and he prayed for me.”

While away in Lagos seeking spiritual help, Ubong’s community back in Onna had gone to consult witch doctors to ascertain his culpability in the ugly incident. Without prior knowledge of Ubong’s visit to the SCOAN, the community head, he said put the oracles’ revelations aside and said he would have to hear from Prophet Joshua before he could accept that Ubong was not responsible for his children and pastor’s death.

Thus, he arranged that a delegate from the community, the pastor’s family members and Ubong visit SCOAN. Prior to that, the late pastor’s son who was said to be violent had threatened to avenge his father’s death by killing Ubong in return. After some appeals from the community, he was said to have rescinded his decision but demanded that Ubong should pay the sum of N4million for his father’s burial.

The Gift

Gift given to the family of the late pastor by Prophet T.B. Joshua

A bloody clash which would have ensued as a result of the crises was averted when the whole party involved in the crises visited Prophet Joshua. Meeting with the late pastor’s family and the community head’s delegate, Prophet Joshua informed that Ubong was innocent of the murder allegation leveled against him. To save the insolvent Ubong from being further hounded because of the huge sum the late pastor’s son demanded for his father’s burial, Prophet Joshua gave the family a sum of N500,000 and went ahead to assure the widow, Comfort Kiddy of his support for the upkeep of the family.

The widow had also requested that Ubong should be responsible for her mother’s burial which she said the late pastor was supposed to do before his untimely death while praying at Ubong’s new house. Propitiated by the Prophet’s intervention and benevolence, the late pastor’s son, Victor said that they were convinced that Ubong was not responsible for his father’s death and assured that peace would reign hence forth.

A stirring story of a woman forced to live with the corpse of her daughter for 14 months… until God’s intervention came through His servant, Prophet TB Joshua…

For a year and two months, an 80-year-old woman was made to sleep in the same room with the corpse of her 48-year old daughter who died mysteriously in Akwa Ibom State.

The octogenarian, Madam Akon Etta, who hails from Osu Udesi, in Mbo Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, was accused of witchcraft and alleged to have killed her daughter, Dorcas Affiong Etim, who until her death, was trading in neighbouring Cotonou, Benin Republic. Trouble reportedly began for the aged woman, who is now taking refuge at the Synagogue Church of All Nations, Lagos, after she mysteriously lost four of her 12 children to various illnesses.

P.M. News learnt from Mrs. Cherish Otoyo, Madam Akon’s 34-year-old daughter, who came to testify to the incident at the Synagogue Church, that the late Dorcas had come from Cotonou, her base, for the burial of one of their late siblings. Dorcas, according to Cherish, arrived the village a day after the internment of their late brother and left after the burial activities were over.

She further said that on returning to Cotonou, Dorcas became ill and was rushed back home where she died barely three weeks after the death of her brother. This incident, coupled with the declaration of a so-called prophet, who was later exposed as a fake, prompted the rumour that the old woman was a witch and had a hand in the successive death of her four children.

Mrs. Otoyo, who resides in Ghana with her husband, Jere Otoyo, as missionaries, said the prophet told them that if they buried her late sister (Dorcas), one other person would die almost immediately. This proclamation reportedly scared the Etim family members and their community, forcing them to put Dorcas’ burial on hold indefinitely.

“Since the prophet said another person would die if we bury our sister, everyone was scared. None of us wanted to die and my brothers and sisters ran away from home. “The prophet also told them that there is the ghost of our late sister hovering around the house and they actually complained that they heard movements at night around the house. That was why they ran away,” she told P.M. News.

The old woman was said to have faced persecution and ridicule from the villagers. When asked how she felt during the 14 month period the corpse of her daughter remained in her room, she lamented in tears that it was agonising. “It was a painful experience, I was always going into the room to light the lantern at night. “I also slept in the room at night with the embalmed corpse on the bed,” she recalled, adding that her relationship with the villagers became strained and she was also accused of inflicting some persons with barenness. “After the incident, they would attribute any death in the village to my purpoted witchcraft,” she said.

Abandonded with a corpse for 14 long months...

Her ordeal was made known by her son-in-law and husband of Cherish (Mrs Otoyo) who visited the Synagogue Church for a prayer session. It was learnt that the church’s head, Prophet T.B. Joshua, who exonerated Madam Akon of the allegation, also assisted the family with the burial of the late Dorcas recently. The church purchased the casket in which the corpse, which had become decomposed, was buried, as well as donated the sum of N150,000 and some bags of rice to the family.

Commenting on the incident, Prophet Joshua, who called it ‘a spiritual battle and one of the greatest deliverances in the history of mankind’, added that activities of false prophets have caused a lot of damage to the world. “I have told her to forgive everyone who offended her and that she should also count on me, as I am now one of her children. “If this old woman had died innocently like that, there would have been a generational curse on the entire family and village because she is innocent and would have died in pains,” Joshua said.

The case of the abandoned corpse of Mrs Etim-Okon and the incredible act of charity and reconciliation thereafter by TB Joshua continues to send ripples throughout the community… PM News reports

3 Banished To Synagogue Over Witchcraft

A family from Abiakelibi in Akwa Ibom State have now found solace in the Synagogue Church of All Nations, Lagos, after they were wrongfully accused of witchcraft and banished from the village.

One of the victims, 23-year old Asuquo Etim Okon, who narrated the incident at the church premises said his two younger siblings, Etim , 12, and Lucy, 11, were sent out of the village after being accused of killing their mother. Though from Asuquo’s description of his late mother’s illness, it was suspected the woman died of cancer of the womb, the villagers, ignorant of the illness, concluded it was a spiritual attack from the woman’s children.

According to Asuquo, while the children were sent out, the family was asked to pay a fine before they could bury the late woman. Asuquo said: “Because we could not pay the fine, my mother’s corpse remained in my father’s house for six months. It was already decomposing.

“When my mother died, I went to live with my uncle and it was from there my friend called me from the village to inform me that my younger ones were now sleeping in the forest. Sometimes, they would go and sleep very close to transformers.” Asuquo said because of their predicament, someone asked him to poison the children so as to help relieve them of the suffering and stigma they faced in the village.

The young man, who said after his mother’s death he borrowed N30,000 to start pay-phone business, stated that he later watched Emmanuel TV (a television channel of the Synagogue church) and decided to go to the church with his siblings. “We were in the church and Pastor T. B. Joshua was touching people. He touched my younger ones and they did not shake. This surprised me and I used the opportunity to tell the man of God what was happening to us.

An Incredible Testimony!

An Incredible Testimony!

“The man of God looked at the children again and told me they are not witches,” he narrated. The church after the incident mobilised a team, which was said to have gone to the village to inform the people that the children were not possessed. Prophet T. B. Joshua was also said to have paid the fine imposed on the family. “He bought a casket in which my mother was buried,” added Asuquo.

The prophet, who made sure the village’s verdict on the children was withdrawn, gave the family N480,000 and promised to rehabilitate them for sometime.

Well whatever people may say about Prophet T. B. Joshua the man appears to be meeting the needs of the deprived in the society and I think this is the core of christianity and not tight fixed men of God who would always collect from the poor without impacting positively on their lives. Innocent lives tragically snuffed out, families recklessly torn apart, beautiful hopes dashed on the rocks of blind allegations… Such is the case of many children in Nigeria and accross Africa falsely branded witches by crisis-ridden people desperately searching for scapegoats amid superstitious tendencies. The result is simply disastrous as young children barely able to reason for themselves are stigmatised and seperated from society – and in many cases, killed. But thank God, hope is rekindling for the rejected and dejected children, as Pastor TB Joshua is being used mightily by God to re-unite broken families, by unveiling the truth from God about the said accusations…

Here is one such case…

“She is the one that killed her mother! She caused my father a serious accident – they say she even attacks people in the dream. If she comes to church, they will send her away. The pastor called me and said if I keep her with me, she will destroy my family. She was born with witchcraft power – they said she cannot be delivered, that we should drive her out. If she’s going to die, let her die. It is better she dies before killing us…”

The accusations levelled against the meek 10 year old were both fierce and frequent. Labelled a symbol of satan, a societal scourge, an instigator of destruction and initiator of woe, her dark eyes filled with pain beyond her years. Despite her tender age, Favour Onyenwaku had been communally branded a witch. Before finally throwing her out of the house, Edward Jonathan and Amadi Kelechi, Favour’s uncle and cousin respectively, decided to bring the small girl from Anambra State to the famous Synagogue Church Of All Nations in Lagos, Nigeria on a desperate mission to ascertain the truth from God.

The Child-Witches of Nigeria - isolated, rejected and neglected

The Child-Witches of Nigeria - isolated, rejected and neglected

Stigmatised from childhood as a witch and menace, Favour was brought up in the house of her auntie, her biological mother dying tragically seven days after birth. As she grew in stature, so did the stigma – and before long, the loathsome rumour had spread its tentacles throughout the neighbourhood, every ensuing mishap attracting her name as the prime suspect. The brazen confirmation of her witchcraft by various pastors and spiritualists further fuelled the revulsion and isolation to the point that Favour was thrown out of school and chased out of church, deserted by friends and denied by family. Uncommonly intelligent, Favour managed to return to school a week before her exams, achieving a remarkable 1st place position with a double promotion. The joy was short-lived as the community soon attributed her outstanding success to satanic sources. There were many attempted deliverances, yet with seemingly futile results, the pastors involved explaining that her case was beyond spiritual intervention since the evil powers were supposedly inborn. It seemed the only availing option was to send the little girl out to the face the perils of life without protection or provision.

TB Joshua with Favour and family

TB Joshua with Favour and family

Favour stood silently before the vast congregation of The Synagogue, Church Of All Nations on Friday 28th August, T.B. Joshua looking keenly at her. It was The SCOAN monthly healing service, with over 20 000 watching the drama unfold with rapt attention. “You heard what they are saying? Are you a witch?” he asked softly. Favour looked up, emotionless. “I am not a witch.” The crowd gasped. “I did not kill my mother or cause anybody accident. I am a child of God!” She was bold and convincing, speaking with clarity and maturity far beyond her age. Praying for her momentarily, Joshua then smiled broadly. Turning to the congregation, he spoke authoritatively. “Favour is not a witch.” The crowd erupted, many unable to withhold their tears. The burden of a stigma too heavy for such young shoulders was finally lifted.

The Protesting 'Witches'...

The Protesting 'Witches'...

The following Sunday 30th August, Favour’s family recounted the sordid experience, thanking God for unveiling the truth. Leading the entire congregation in prayer on their knees for forgiveness for the heinous sin of calling one created in the image of God an image of satan, it was a time of sober and sombre reflection. The viewers watching worldwide on Emmanuel TV were touched by Favour’s harrowing experience, many calling throughout the service and pledging to financially sponsor Favour to any educational level she desired. TB Joshua explained the gift of God in Favour is what prompted satan’s attack, saying however that the experience served a purpose. “If gold must be gold, it must pass through the furnace,” he said, stating that Favour was a promised child with great potential. He said he would be ready to join the plethora of callers in sponsoring Favour to study abroad if she so desired, stating that she deserved the best.

A visibly thankful Favour testified in the church, drawing applause from the crowd for her prodigious intelligence. “I know that everything that happened to me serves a purpose. God is the One that brought us here. I thank God for making the whole world to know I am not a witch, and I have forgiven all those who accused me. I advise the whole world – if they call you a witch, just accept it – one day God will meet you and reveal the truth.” Africa News gathered that since then, Favour is being taken care of within The SCOAN premises.

In a similar event, a 10 year old boy named Victor Ivuogbe was abandoned at The Synagogue, Church Of All Nations by his father following related allegations of witchcraft. Sleeping under a truck and begging for food for four days before being found, TB Joshua had earlier made a plea for his father to come and reconcile with the boy, emphasising that he was not a wizard as accused. Responding, the father, a pastor in the Assemblies of God church, came to The SCOAN, and publically reunited with his son, acknowledging his mistaken accusation. “If we make mistakes, as we all do – don’t run from God, run to Him,” said TB Joshua, encouraging the sober father. Charitable gifts of N800 000 and multiple bags of rice were also given out to widows and less privileged students in the action packed service.

Wild accusations...

Wild accusations...

The trend of children falsely accused of witchcraft and subsequently rejected and neglected is on an alarming increase within Nigeria, and indeed in different parts of Africa, people blindly looking for scapegoats when faced with crises of varying sorts. The issue recently attracted international outrage with the airing of a documentary on United Kingdom’s Channel 4 where a self-professed pastor from Akwa-Ibom State claimed to have killed over a hundred child-witches. Stepping Stones Nigeria, a UK based NGO set up to awaken awareness of the Nigerian child witches dilemma, identified religious profiteering, extreme poverty, disintegration of the extended family structure, ignorance, superstitious beliefs and broken marriages as the major causes of such irrational accusations.

In a nation where many religious leaders are shameless exploiting these superstitious beliefs for personal gain and fame, Pastor T.B. Joshua has carved a niche for himself in the areas of revelation and reconciliation. Families torn apart through such allegations of witchcraft are re-united on almost a weekly basis at The Synagogue, Church Of All Nations as the truth from God is revealed regarding the said accusations. Many are financially supported thereafter on the road to rehabilitation and teams dispatched to the areas concerned to correct the wrong impression imposed on the accused.

An article in the popular Daily Champion detailing the stunning events of Sunday 13th September, including an array of inspirational words of wisdom…

General Overseer of The Synagogue, Church Of All Nations, Prophet Temitope Joshua has said persecution brought him tremendous blessing. He said as he was being hounded by a few individuals in the society, thousands, especially the less privileged across the world, were praying for his wellbeing. Joshua said during a special Sunday Service at the Ikotun Lagos Headquarters of the church that many lives had been touched around the world through his ministry, who are also praying for increase of God’s blessings on him.

The service also witnessed the reconciliation of some ostracized children from Abiakelibi Village in Akwa-Ibom State with their family members. The children, who were accused of killing their mother through witchcraft, were also given a cash donation by Prophet Joshua during the service.

He told the worshippers that God’s blessings have increased in his life as a result of persecution he received while fulfilling his assignment on earth. “The more they persecute me, the more the favour of God upon my life. The more they persecute me, the more God will increase my blessing. Many people are praying that God should bless TB Joshua. There are thousands all over the world who are praying for Joshua, how many people are praying for you,” he said.

He said the open display of his donations to the less privileged people in the society was to encourage his members to do likewise to the needy in their midst saying that his intention was not to show off or attract praise. He urged the congregation to make giving part of their lives, noting that givers would always receive breakthrough from God.

“What we are doing is not to show off, but to teach the people to do what we are doing by helping the poor in the society. Giving is part of my life. The only problem is that people don’t give out what they cherish. It is when you don’t have that you can give what your life depends on.”

“You need prayers from orphans, widows, widowers, the fatherless and poor in the society. If widows and orphans pray for you, you will receive your breakthrough immediately. Life is all about giving and someone somewhere is in need of what you have. It could be your strength or your love – but in any direction you look, you will see those who are in need of your love,” he said.

Joshua, who gave N1.6 million for the rehabilitation of the children and the burial of their mother, also promised scholarships to them. Some members of the Abiakelibi community including Etim Okon Edem, the children’s father who attended the service could not hide their excitement as they received their cash gift.

Narrating their ordeal to newsmen, 23 year old Asuquo Etim Okon, whose siblings were accused of witchcraft said the villagers abandoned their mother’s corpse for six months before the intervention of The Synagogue Church. He said he decided to take his siblings aged 11 and 12 years respectively to the church to seek God’s intervention and confirm if they were witch and wizard as alleged by the members of the community. He said not only did Joshua assure that the children were innocent, but that his visit to the church has opened a new chapter in the life of the family.

The story of Favour touched the world… God’s favour foiling the venemous attempts of satan to destroy a bright star…

To many, Friday 28th August 2009 was just another day, another event, another occurrence in the cycle of life, quickly to be forgotten. But to 10-year-old Favour Onyenwaku of Abia state, Nigeria – it was so much more than that.

This day marked the end of years of wincing from the repeated blows of false accusations, slander, rejection and isolation. She had fallen victim to the cruel, relentless grip of society and cultural tradition. She had become the prey of a predator as destructive as dynamite and as deceptive as the devil. She found herself caught up in a horrible web of trickery and mockery through no fault of her own. The way out seemed so remote and inaccessible.

Calling the nature of God the nature of satan is never to be undertaken lightly, assumed or presumed. Sadly, many tend to do so, not even beginning to contemplate the heavy repercussions suffered thereof. It is such assumption as this that is often the cause of the stumbling blocks, limitations and banes of so many families and communities.

After being labeled a witch, Favour found herself hearing things she was not supposed to hear, seeing things she was not supposed to see and experiencing what was far beyond her tender years. On taking her to the church, the pastor had labeled her a witch, possessed by evil spirits. It was stated that she could not be delivered because she was a witch from birth, responsible for the death of her mother (who passed away just 8 days after she was born). She was said to be the one hindering the progress in the church, attacking people both day and night. The pastor had advised her family to send her away to the village. Her brother asked the pastor, “If I send her away, she will die”. The pastor responded by saying, ‘It is better for her to die than to kill you and your whole family. She should go. If she’s going to die, let her die.’

Everywhere she went, both at home, in school and in church, Favour was rejected and humiliated pursued by a deluge of name calling, slanderous remarks and accusations. She walked alone, often crying bitterly, bearing the stigma of a name she was never meant to bear. What made the pain more intense was that it was not only strangers who labeled her what she was not but also those closest to her, her blood.

She was not allowed to enter the church or other public places. Desperate, her family took her out of school for a period as they took her to various places for deliverance. She returned to school, one week prior to the exams, took the exams and also took first position and was given double promotion. To many, this achievement served not as testimony to her innocence but rather as a proof of her guilt. They judged that she was using her witchcraft powers to attain that success.

Perplexed and bemused by the crisis in the family and in a desperate attempt to confirm the truth of the matter, her uncle Edward Jonathan and cousin, Amadi Kelechi brought her to TB Joshua for deliverance.

When God's Favour shined upon Favour...

When God's Favour shined upon Favour...

It was the monthly healing and deliverance service on Friday 28th August 2009. Her brother and cousin cried out, desiring for TB Joshua to hear their case. He took time to listen carefully and then asked Favour: “How do you feel when people call you a witch?” She responded: “I feel like crying because I don’t know what is a witch”.

After hearing the story of the two brothers, TB Joshua declared that Favour was not a witch. He said: “You can say what you like but as for me and my family and my household, Favour is not a witch. If your family rejects Favour, the kingdom of God is for her. How can you turn Favour of God to witch?”

Favour clearly elated was told to advise the whole world. She said: “I am happy because I’m not a witch. If people call you witch, you should just accept it and say yes. And one day, God will fight for you. If you do not agree with them will beat you chase you away or kill you.”

Her intelligence and potential was evident for all to see and T.B. Joshua vowed to help her further her education and join the family. He said: “If gold must be gold, it must pass through the furnace. You will pass through intimidation, hatred, persecution – you are a promised child.”

The darkness has ended and the light has truly dawned in the life of Favour and her family. Hope which had been snuffed out has been rekindled and will soon be burning bright. The vanquished has indeed been vindicated.

She had been the target of a scheme, crafty and clever, bent on crushing her potential and causing crisis in her family. But that plan was foiled as she found out what Almighty God, her Creator and Saviour had to say about her situation.

One can begin to imagine, years on when Favour has grown up and become an influential figure in the society, how grateful she will be. Saving a life and restoring a soul is indeed far more precious than any other achievement or accomplishment in this world.

Yet another article from The Nigeria Village Square which discusses the human tendency to search for a scapegoat, and the positive impact of TB Joshua’s ministry of reconciliation…

In our society today, we take the accolades for our achievements, but finger certain forces behind our failures…

Can we call it the superstitious tendencies that permeate our African history and ‘local’ reasoning, or an easy way of shifting the burden of blame to the shoulder of another? Maybe it’s a combination of both – but this national blame game has been the bane of our nation for far too long.

Today, excuses and finger pointing are rampant. The moment our ‘breakthrough plans’ veer off course, and things don’t turn out the way we expect, there is someone or something that is surely behind it all, oftentimes under the manipulation of strange supernatural forces intent on our frustration and destruction. Wild prayer sessions or spiritual consultations tend to ensue, and a family member ‘in the village’ is often subjected to blind accusations with resulting shame and separation.

To make matters worse, religious organizations feast on this deception as an opportunity to further line their pockets. They openly declare little children, barely old enough to reason for themselves, or elderly mothers who are frail and cannot fight back, as symbols of wickedness and evil, namely witches and wizards – all as bait to collect cheap money from the desperate. Called to be symbols of peace and unity, ‘ministers of God’ have sadly become a source of separation and enmity in this regard. The case of Helen Ukpabio and the Akwa-Ibom ‘child-witches’ readily springs to mind. Innocent children are daily subjected to mental, emotional and physical torture after being labelled a ‘witch’ and homes are ripped apart through heated allegations and contentions. Thus, an easy ‘escape route’ for you brings dire consequences for many. When will this shameless madness end?

A child accused of witchcraft and subsequently abused physically...

Only last month, I watched on Emmanuel TV the tragic case of an elderly woman forced to sleep on her own mother’s grave after being thrown out of her home through such allegations of witchcraft, a claim unflinchingly confirmed by various ministries and spiritualists. Only divine intervention through the revelation, input and prayer of Pastor TB Joshua saved her from imminent death and reconciled the entire family – a family that had been broken and bruised through these malicious lies. It was a touching and practical example of the ministry of reconciliation, which all true ministers of God are called to.

However, on the other side of this blame game, we are quick to ascribe our success to our personal efforts. When things flow according to plan and results materialise, we proudly attribute it to our many painful sacrifices, diligent work ethic and hours of labour. Why is it we freely boast of our successes, but blindly apportion blame for our failures? Can we not see such actions and attitude are a clear contradiction and perversion of the truth?

The principle that governs our ways and works in life is simple, and can be found in the Holy Bible in Galatians 6:7 – “Whatsoever a man sows, that he shall reap…” Success or failure is mostly a product of your mind and time management. Refusal to realise such is simply warping reality to the detriment of maturity and growth. It is true supernatural forces of evil exist, but to blame them for every misfortune and calamity that comes your way is tantamount to a refusal to take up responsibility. And when you do not arrive at the firm conviction that you are responsible for your situation by your actions or inactions, you can never learn the lessons experience is willing to impart to you through it.

There is always a lesson in every situation. The successful are simply those willing to learn through every situation, grow through every error and mature through every experience. Choosing to be blind to these truths is choosing to fail.

The choice is yours.
