The morning service started very early, as usual, and the congregation was addressed by Wise Man Christopher on the theme, “Follow Instruction in Righteousness”.

In his elaborations, he maintained that Jesus is the Word by whom God speaks to us, which is why He remains the pillar of our faith and substance of our spiritual commitment. He said it is not enough to confess Christianity but to live it as expected of true Christians and that we have to run the race well, in Christ.
The wise man preached that Christianity is two sided – theory and practical. The knowledge of Christianity is not sufficient for man, but the practicing of what is known to be correct. In his opinion, when we abide by the Word and take Jesus Christ as our role model, we will be content, self-sufficient and satisfied. Our great belief in the Word will make us obtain the same results as the early disciples (Mark 9:23).

He said if we believe in Christ, we should have confidence in his ability to heal, “If you believe Jesus is the Saviour, you must have confidence in His ability to save”, he added.
In the word, the Wise man added, man must never doubt God’s ability to heal and save; there should not be room for doubt because we have a perfect evidence for faith. He maintained that light, blessing and good health can be obtained by man through absolute belief in the Word; we should know Christ and obey His instructions as clearly spelt out in the Word. This is because, “God has a role to play and man has his own role to play”.

He said God’s Word is a seed of divine life; Jesus is the Living Word and the Bread of Life. He added that “God’s Word will change you if you take it to heart”, and “A believing soul takes everything God says in truth and faith and puts the best construction on it”. He completed his sermon by 8:25am.

REV. (BARRISTER) ONWELU AND WIFE SHOWN SPIRITUAL DIRECTION
Prophet T.B Joshua appeared on the pulpit and the first comment he made centered on the woman (Mrs. Patricia Onwelu) who had in the previous week, complained on the occupational status of her husband. She had received a prophecy from T.B. Joshua that her husband was doing the work of God.
The woman had wanted the Prophet to intervene and make God’s opinion known to them whether the husband should continue the work of God or remain a practicing lawyer.

The couple came to the church, and the wife narrated the story in full, and that the husband (Rev. Chidi Onwelu) did not know whether to practice law or be a pastor, because the little money he was making as a lawyer was what he used to build a ‘prayer mountain’ where nobody went for prayers.

She narrated the dream he had, which had made him distance himself from her; and in the dream, it was made clear to the husband that “he was a disgrace”, though he often saw her as an impediment to his spiritual fulfillment.

The husband narrated his own story. He is from a family of lawyers and though a good reader, he had read books, some of which contradicted each other. He was forced to set ablaze one of such books and in the night of that day, he found himself in detention in his dream. Though he was to be assisted by someone who reminded him he should not be detained, he still found himself behind bars.

Prophet T.B Joshua listened patiently to the narrations, and he pledged to see the couple and tell them what God’s opinion was, on the issue.

MISS CHARITY OMERUAH AND MOTHER: DELIVERED FROM EVIL SPIRITS
Equally, the lady who in the previous week, was arrested by the Holy Spirit when she tried to seduce the prophet through an evil spirit and manipulation, appeared in the church with her mother. Miss Charity Omeruah narrated her story to the congregation, the evil powers she possessed which had made her destroy at least three spiritual ministries and ministers through lust and sexual temptations, while Prophet T.B Joshua was to be the fourth person! She said she had been sent from the demonic kingdom with a mission to kill Wise man Daniel and Prophet T.B Joshua as part of her plans, and that she had powers in her hand, private part and head which could be dispensed at will.

According to her, her eyes were used to confuse people and forcefully seduce them, the hands were poisonous, and her nakedness was often attractive. She had tried to bring darkness in the church by stopping electricity, which was not achieved. Darkness could have made it easier to pounce on Prophet T.B Joshua, tear off her dress, and force members of the congregation to sleep. She failed because Prophet T.B Joshua is a true man of God.
She complained that the Prophet of God stood against their interest in the world of darkness; he was a stumbling block to their full manifestation. She had gone out of the church in anger and returned in fury, and that when she tried to sit down, she was given the anointing sticker which she had collected angrily. But it was too hot to be handled. She had kept it in her hand bag but it was too hot to be put down; she felt fire all over her body, and started shouting.
Eventually set free from the demon which had tormented her, she had narrated that she was possessed by this evil spirit from childhood. The sticker drove away the snake living inside her. She confessed that her mother, who used to be a powerful member of the demonic kingdom, was equally delivered at The SCOAN.
The video showing the mother, Mrs. Omeruah, when she was delivered, was also shown to the congregation. She had challenged Wise man Daniel in the video, calling herself the Queen of all Queens who could not be easily conquered, and who had destroyed people. She was eventually delivered.

Standing by the side of her daughter, Mrs. Omeruah, narrated her story to the congregation, saying she was staying in Gabon, and was amazed by what she saw of her daughter on Emmanuel TV, which reminded her of her own personal experience on February 12th, 2012 when she was delivered. She regretted that her other children also belonged to the demonic kingdom. Prophet T.B Joshua had given her N20,000 when she was first delivered, to travel back home. It was while she saw her daughter manifesting that she decided to return from Gabon to come again to The SCOAN to testify.

Her story made Prophet T.B Joshua to make some spiritually–charged comments. For instance, “If you are here to see what you have seen before, you are here to waste your time. You should see what you have never seen before”. While in The SCOAN, new experiences make people wonder. In Africa, the Prophet said, “Once you cannot do something you believe others cannot do it”, yet people are expected to always seek the face of God. He said, “Things can happen; let us be open for knowledge”, and that they should be good listeners. He added, “If you want a breakthrough when it comes to things of God, you can never see it because everyone lies to his neighbour. The only way to move forward is to go to God. The problem with us is, if I cannot do it, no one else can do it”. He said people have the mentality to accuse others of using the power of Satan, if they cannot perform certain miracles themselves.

He maintained that God has used “Just a paper” (Anointing Sticker) to bring deliverance to people and that God can indeed use any medium to do his work. He also said that we don’t fight flesh and blood but spirit beings.
He also spoke on the fact that God’s power works through His Word by His Spirit, but the Word should become an integral part of your being, that the process of salvation can only be fully attained when the word is an integral part of the self. Preaching or sermonizing, according to him, should be brief, pointed and relevant and not the act of showing off. Between ten and twenty minutes should be sufficient for a serious sermon he said, and that prayer and Bible reading go together.

HON. KOMBOWEL FRIDAY; PROPHECY ON A CROWN TO BE WORN
Hon. Kombowel Friday is the present Speaker, Bayelsa State House of Assembly.
A past video was shown showing him being prayed for and prophesied to by Prophet T.B Joshua. That was in November 2011. The Prophet had told him that he had seen him escape gunshots and was crowned, while he should assist the family of his mother.

In his testimony, he had told the congregation that he had originally come to The SCOAN over consistent night attacks, and limitations. He said he was able to have a child after twelve years of marriage, and had wanted to be relieved of the troubles he was facing.

He later became Chief whip of the Assembly (Bayelsa House of Assembly), and when the former governor of the state wanted him to be part of his Kitchen Cabinet, he was nearly attacked by some people (though he escaped being hurt), which confirmed what Prophet T.B Joshua had earlier prophesied. He wondered what would also make him wear a crown being not of a royal home. But within a short time, he was elected Speaker of the House of Assembly (he brought his photographs to the Church, wearing the regalia of office, showing the political crown). He was decorated on 20th February, 2012.

The Prophet appreciated the Speaker’s acknowledgement of God, and reminded the congregation what the President of Ghana, Prof. Atta Mills, did immediately he became president – he had come to thank God at The SCOAN.

MR. ANTHONY OSHOGWE: DELIVERED FROM PILE AND HEARING DIFFICULTY THROUGH ANOINTING WATER.
Mr. Anthony Oshogwe came to the church with his wife to thank God for his deliverance from the plagues of acute pile and hearing problem through the anointing water. He said in 1988, 1992 and 2003, he underwent operations for his pile, and had the fourth in 2009. His first deliverance came through Emmanuel T.V when he placed his hands on the screen, as Prophet T.B Joshua was praying for the viewers. Like a man who experienced electric shock, he was surprised that his pile disappeared forever.

As for his hearing problem, he had come to the church on December 4th, 2011. He is also blessed to have a wife, Felicia, who is a prayer warrior. When the Anointing Water was given to him at the church, he prayed with his family, and administered it, and slept like a child. The hearing pains also disappeared. Any other pain that had come his way, he ministered the Anointing Water and it disappeared. His wife also confirmed this, and that they had married for 29 years. She had introduced him to Emmanuel TV in Akure (Ondo state), and the ear problem disappeared.

SIMON AND FAMILY – DELIVERED FROM POVERTY AND FAMILY CURSE
Mr. Simon came with his sister to thank God in the church for relieving them of the pains of poverty and helplessness caused by a family curse.
According to him, he had come to the church on August 25th, 2011 and had the grace to receive the Anointing water. The family is made up of eleven members and they all shared one room until the father died. That was in Bonny, Rivers State.
With the water, they all prayed and anointed themselves. They asked God to raise men of substance from within the family. Today, at least three of them have good buildings and with thriving business.
The sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Good luck, also came to the church attested to the claims of the brother. According to her, the family had been condemned by the dilapidated house they lived in. The coming of her brother to The SCOAN saved the family, as the members did not experience the benefits of good education and jobs. Today business is thriving well for the members.
Prophet T.B Joshua used this evidence again to inform the congregation that there were hundreds of people with concrete claims as to what the anointing water did for them.

MISS SELINA DAUSI: DELIVERED FROM 30 YEARS OF ICE CUBES CONSUMPTION

The second service started with the deliverance program at the emergency section (prayer line) in which many national and international visitors were attended to by the wise men. People were delivered from the

stronghold of evil forces. One of these was Miss Selina Dausi, a South African, who was delivered from 30 years of ice cube consumption. Others were delivered from the spirits of anger, poverty, disease, childlessness, spiritual marriages and joblessness. Many also received their healings.

SEGUN ONABANJO: DELIVERED FROM SPIRIT OF ANGER.
The session in the church started with the confessions of Mr. Segun Onabanjo who was delivered from the spirit of anger, lasting 20 years. Onabanjo’s anger was uncontrollable; he always wanted to see blood when angry, and often out of control. His mother had moved out of Nigeria because of this, especially when he broke the collar bone of his sister. He had wanted to run away when he confronted Wise Man Harry – The fire was too much for him. He received his deliverance.

GIFT CHIBO – DELIVERED FROM SPIRIT OF ANGER
Gift Chibo, an anger–propelled, Abuja – based Nigerian young lady was also delivered through Wise Man Harry. She had purposely come to The SCOAN to get deliverance because her spirit of anger had made her turn candles upside – down and burn things, also cursing people and invoking demons to attack such persons.

She had experienced a lot of disappointments in marriage plans and working places and even after her deliverance, she had wanted evidence to proof that she had manifested the evil spirit before. She glorified God for delivering her.

NKECHI TOBY: DELIVERED FROM SPIRITUAL HUSBAND
Mrs. Nkechi Toby, from Delta State received her deliverance through Wise Man Harry from a spiritual husband.
The spiritual husband had threatened to eliminate her if she came to The SCOAN, yet she had come for deliverance. She was happy to be delivered through the fire of the Holy Spirit. She had felt light now, unlike before, when she felt heavy.

After songs were rendered, Prophet T.B Joshua came out and ministered words of prophecy to many present while the wise men led the congregation in a powerful time of prayer.
A young man was delivered from the spirit of stealing. He had stolen someN300,000 from another state and rushed to Lagos to invest some in business. He was delivered. He had told his story of failures in life, especially inability to attend school. He was to do some business after which he would use the proceeds to further his education.

There were other prophecies made by the man of God and the Wise men. Prayers were centered on spirits trying to stop the destiny of people from being achieved. The Anointing stickers were distributed to people and everyone left for home, content and confessing that the way out for them had come!

TO HIS POWER NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE
In a spirited sermon to awaken the congregation to the power of God,

Prophet T. B. Joshua reminded the Church of the greatness of God and His ready disposition to forgive sins, however grievous some of these sins may be. In his words God is capable of doing anything and also forgiving any sin. To His power nothing is impossible. Breaking in on the choral music which had been reverberating all over the Church and to which the congregation responded in unison with elegant steps, Prophet T. B. Joshua enthusiastically spoke on the forgiving spirit of God with copious illustrations. In his words, the past is forgiven. We have seen a sinner’s character healed, the drunkard becoming sober, the harlot becoming chastened and the liar becoming truthful. “What then is the fear?” he asked the congregation. He spiritedly reminded his listeners that if they trust in God, that trust will save them. Trusting in the suffering of Christ is enough to save us, deliver us and make us whole. He concluded the sermon by advising the congregation to remain in trust.

WHAT MUST I DO TO BE SAVED?

Wise Man John Chi introduced his message with a series of questions. How do we achieve a desired goal? Who wants to be saved? What must I do to be saved? He aptly referred the congregation to Acts 16: 29-32 which provided the answer to his questions: Believe in the Lord and you will be saved. According to him, God has promised salvation for whoever shall trust His Son. Race, age brackets, academic qualifications, wealth or any other attribute cannot save us outside Christ. If you are willing to be saved, Jesus is willing. Jesus brings hope and succour to those who trust Him. He is the bread to the hungry and road map to the lost. Whatever you are, you need Christ to be saved. God has a role to play in your salvation just as you too have a role to play. It takes your willingness and God’s ability to bring about your salvation.
Our hearts and minds must be reset to agree with God’s plan for our lives. You must get rid of those things that derail you from God. You cannot experience peace under the dominion of satan. Satan is sin. Another name for satan is sin.

Quoting Psalm 51:7 as a reference text the Wise Man admonished the congregation on the need to be cleansed of sins. According to him King David saw the need to be cleansed. Wash me with water whiter than snow and remove all impurity. David knew he would not have place in God’s kingdom unless he was washed from sins. In his sins, David could not see anything other than the fruit of sin: failure in the family, in the battle field etc. Unless you are cleansed of your sins, your blessing will receive challenges. The attitude of repentance and faith in your heart keeps you closer to God. Mistakes are correctable. If you make a mistake, don’t run from God; run to Him. Because David ran to God in spite of his sins, he remains one of the greatest Kings in Israel today. Your Father in Heaven has anticipated your sins and prepared for you. You have not committed an unpardonable sin. Our lives are in God’s hand and we cannot please Him without a thorough reformation of heart and life. God requires a heart that does not bear grudges. Doubts and unbelief put us on the wrong track. Jesus loves you just as He does any of His children. Jesus is able to forgive all our sins, he concluded.

THE SPIRIT OF APOSTLE PAUL HAS ARRIVED IN MACEDONIA
Wise Man, Harry and his wonderful performances in Macedonia attracted his comments. The prophet told the congregation that the crusade in Macedonia attracted a large turn out of participants. It was so wonderful and even comparable to those spiritually hosted by the prophet himself in Indonesia and Singapore. It had to be extended to the following day i.e. Sunday and Monday. Wise Man, Harry also revealed to Prophet T. B. Joshua his vision to be in Macedonia especially close to Paul and Silas’s prison for tourists to see the wonders of God.
A clip on the wonderful works being performed by Wise Man, Harry surfaced on the screen and the congregation watched with rapt interest.

RECONCILIATION OF BROKEN HOMES

Mr and Mrs Ifah brought out their children and Mrs Ifah, the spokesperson accused their daughter, Judith of witchcraft before the entire congregation. She narrated how a baby of hers died mysteriously after a period of excessive stooling. She painted a picture of lack of peace in their family and of the sickness of her husband which had defied healing.

The daughter, Judith Ifah confessed to being a witch and added that it was the result of the fruit juice which she accepted from one of her classmates. She said she told her mother the dream she had after taking the juice and her mother prayed for her. She revealed that the giver of the juice asked her to bring their baby to the coven and that was the cause of the baby’s death. She said that she ate the baby. She also revealed how she was advised to use a rope to tie her father to his bed and cause his health to deteriorate. All these feats would attract to her a second position in the witchcraft world.
In reaction, Prophet T.B. Joshua advised parents to bring up their children in the way of the Lord to have peace. The child in question was left in the hands of satan because of the parents’ carelessness. The prophet pronounced Judith a witch or demon possessed as presented by the parents.

He then asked the parents to lay hands on her and ask every unclean spirit to leave her. That was how Judith was delivered. The prophet however warned both parents not to call her a witch after the deliverances.

INTERNET VICTIM
A lady by name Memory, from Zimbabwe but living in South Africa confessed how she was hoodwinked promises of monetary offers on the internet. She was taught incantations which she mastered but none of the promises materialised. Instead, her marital home became bedevilled with problems to such an extent that she used the police to eject her husband from the home. She then pleaded with the man of God for deliverance. At the exclamation of the name, Jesus by one of the evangelists she fell down and was delivered.

ACCUSATION OF WITCHCRAFT

One Emmanuel Chijoke and his relations all of the Abraham family from Enugu complained about the problems of setback and deaths in their family attributing all this to their mother.
The genesis of the accusation was a crusade in Abuja at which one of Emmanuel’s cousins was a participant and where he was told by a man of God there that their mother was the brain behind all the woes in the family. The said man of God was then invited to Enugu where he confirmed his earlier vision that their mother was a witch and that only her head and shoulders was human; the chest down to the feet was vulture in appearance. Surprisingly to the family, their mother could not refute the accusation by the man of God. She complained that at that time, her eyes, ears and mouth were muffled and she could not talk.

She then challenged the family to take her to anywhere and they would realise that she is not a witch. This was the reason they came to the SCOAN.

In his verdict, the man of God pronounced the woman witchcraft negative and ordered the children to kneel down to her in apology.

FOOT ULCER HEALED
Before the prayer line, the participants of which were zoomed on the screen,

a lady, 20 year old Miss Sulman who was healed of foot ulcer came to give testimony and also made to show herself to those in the prayer line to reassure them of their healing.<img src=”http://thetbjoshuafanclub.files.wordpress.com/2010/10/10-10-10-g-4.jpg?w=200″ alt=”" title=”10-10-10 [G] (4)” width=”200″ height=”300″ class=”aligncenter size-medium wp-image-1990″ />

HIV AIDS TESTIMONIES
Three men and three women who were healed of HIV AIDS came to give their testimonies. Among them who spoke was 27 year old Mrs Motunrayo Sowemimo,
who was tested positive with Hiv aids type one in the Federal Ministry of Health, Abuja.

After the prayer line where she was declared free, she said she became stronger and ate with more relish.

She went back to the same hospital for another test but thanks to God, she was Hiv negative this time.

SCHOLARSHIP BENEFICIARIES
Miss Oduwole Olayinka, a youth worker in the church who came bagged 1st class (Electrical/Electronics), University of Lagos also got a scholarship award from the Church to do a Master degree in one of the best universities in the world. She consequently applied for admission and was offered same in three good universities in the United Kingdom. These were the Universities of Southampton, Edinburgh and that of Surrey.
She picked the University of Southampton as the best and the Church paid a total sum of £13,900 as her fees. Later and in consonance with the man of God’s crave for the best, the University College, London, offered her admission. Without hesitation, she changed her mind and picked the latest offer. A total sum of £18,245 was paid as fees for her to start classes on the 11th of October 2010.
The man of God seized the opportunity to advise the congregation to always look for the needy to help rather than waiting at home for the needy to come to them. In this way, according to the prophet, they would not be helping the wrong people.

Yet another touching article from The SCOAN’s latest publication, ‘Read Us’, this time detailing the harrowing experience of a widow who is among the thousands who have received help from The SCOAN Widow’s Forum with Prophet T.B. Joshua…

As the man of God often says,

You will begin to succeed with your life when the pains and problems of others begin to matter to you

Elizabeth Nwose at The SCOAN Widow's Forum

Elizabeth Nwose at The SCOAN Widow's Forum

“MY husband cared for me and my children,” explained Mrs Elizabeth Nwose, solemnly reflecting on the incident that changed her family’s fortunes for ever. “So when the accident happened, things turned upside down.” It was a motor-accident, resulting in instant death. With four teenage sons all pursuing their education, and the bread-winner of the home suddenly taken away, panic soon set in. “In my mind, I said: ‘God, what will I do with these children now this has happened? Who shall I meet for help?’ ” For Mrs Nwose, a middle-aged mother from Delta State, life had literally turned its back on her.

Cultural tradition demanded she follow her husband’s family back to their native village and observe a time of mourning. Unknown to her, they had other plans. “They felt I was responsible for his death… Because all my children are boys, they didn’t want anything to harm them. They thought if I am behind his death, my children too will start dying one after the other.” The method used to determine Mrs Nwose’s innocence or guilt may be hard for the 21st century mindset to comprehend. It was a crude, gruelling, heartless process. “They took me to a bush in the forest. Nobody was there, only me. No food, no water, and only a wrapper around my body. I stayed there for twenty-two days. Night and day.” Heavy rain fell for three days of the ordeal, alongside the mosquitoes biting, the insects crawling and the wild animals threatening. “I cried day and night – only me. My prayer everyday was ‘God, don’t allow snakes or bad animals to meet me here.’ ” Hope dwindled to the point of despair as her life lay on a precipice, drifting in and out of consciousness. On the verge of giving up, Mrs Nwose had a unique experience that brought strength and solace in the midst of her storm.

Mrs Elizabeth Nwose

Mrs Elizabeth Nwose - forced to fast for 22 days after the death of her husband

“It was just like a dream. An old man appeared to me with a walking stick. He said, ‘My daughter look at me’; then I raised my face and recognised his face as the man of God, Prophet T.B. Joshua. He said, ‘Don’t be afraid – God is with you day and night’ – and he disappeared.” Supernaturally strengthened, Elizabeth’s resolve to live was renewed and hope once again took hold of her heart. Two more times, Prophet T.B. Joshua appeared to her in the guise of an old man, offering words of comfort and reassurance. “He said I shouldn’t be afraid,” Nwose reminisced. After what seemed like an eternity in the night of the 22nd day, a man came to take Elizabeth, bringing a new wrapper for her to wear and instructing her to abandon the old one in the bush. He seemed surprised she had endured the trial. “They thought I would die at that place and know by that that my hands are not clean,” she explained. But the ordeal was not yet over. “They took me that night to my father’s compound around 2.00 am when there was nobody in sight. I was not permitted to see anybody and nobody could see me at that time. They kept me inside one room; I stayed inside there for 10 days.”

Mrs Nwose had lost her appetite entirely and could barely eat the few meals that were provided at that time. Her physical condition was frail, but her spirit was strong. “After the 10 days, they brought me out around 2.00 am and took me to our market square. Inside the market, they did the sacrifice. When we got to the house, my hair was shaved and I was asked to go and take my bath. After my bath, they buried the hair at the particular place together with the wrapper I was wearing, and I was asked to come out.” Vindicated and free from the accusation of being behind her husband’s demise, people rushed out to congratulate Nwose. “It was like a ceremony indeed. Many people would come and greet me and say, ‘My daughter, God has brought you out, and your hands are clean.’ ”

TB Joshua At The Widows Forum

TB Joshua at The SCOAN Widows Forum

Released to leave the village, Elizabeth returned to Lagos. “My children were the ones that cared for me when I finally returned from the village. All over my body were rashes because mosquitoes had bitten everywhere.” Remembering her vision in the forest, Mrs Nwose set out to visit The Synagogue, Church Of All Nations and Prophet T.B. Joshua once her strength was renewed to narrate her experience. As providence would have it, she arrived on the day of The SCOAN Widow’s Forum where widows in dire situations from across the country had come to receive assistance, both morally and materially. “I explained everything that happened to me and Prophet T.B. Joshua gave me N150, 000 to go and establish myself that day,” Mrs Nwose smiled. “I just knelt down and thanked God for using the man of God to give me this money. I kept asking myself: who would I have run to at this particular time?” Since receiving aid, Prophet T.B. Joshua has given scholarships to her four children, promising his support throughout their tertiary education. The in-laws who cruelly confirmed her innocence had refused to aid the family. “They don’t want to take up their responsibilities; they abandoned me and the children. Since my husband died nobody has come to my house to ask after us. I go to them but they are running from me. It is only Prophet T.B. Joshua that God is using to give me help till today.”

A stirring account of some recent activities of ‘Clinique Emmanuel’, the thriving field hospital set up by Emmanuel TV in Arcahaie, Haiti after the devastating earthquake that crippled the country earlier this year, as published in The SCOAN’s latest publication of ‘Read Us’.

OVER 230,000 dead, 300,000 injured, 280,000 buildings collapsed, 1,000,000 homeless and 3,000,000 affected. The stats are staggering. On Tuesday 12th January 2010 at approximately 16:53, parts of the Caribbean island of Haiti literally crumbled to pieces at the mercy of the 6th most fatal earthquake of all time. With irrecoverable damage done to communication systems, major transport facilities, electrical networks and hospitals, bodies of the dead strewn on the streets and thousands more trapped inside collapsed buildings, it was a scene of utter chaos and confusion.

Deemed the worst earthquake of the modern era, compounding already existing problems in the poverty-stricken isle of Haiti, the world watched in horror as images of destruction and devastation filtered through to international media. Thus began one of the largest aid relief operations in recent history, with humanity uniting together for the common purpose of assisting the homeless and helpless in Haiti.

Orphans in Haiti

The children of Haiti - they are fatherless so that you can be their father

Here is the story of one such relief mission which began in the humble office of a pastor who watched the distressing images of the Haitian suffering and could not afford to look the other way, whose passion and vision to help the Haitians overwhelmed the seemingly insurmountable odds. And as T.B. Joshua watched, The Emmanuel TV Haiti Earthquake Relief Team was born – a mission to bring hope to the orphans, relief to the sick and comfort to the suffering in the faraway nation of Haiti.

Going in
The task seemed impossible on the outside, but an instruction in righteousness from T.B. Joshua had come, and thus the divine provision, protection and enablement to achieve it. Merely two days after the earthquake struck, SCOAN Evangelists in both America and the United Kingdom were preparing themselves for a journey into the unknown. “It was clearly a God-directed mission, a God directed venture,” recalled Nick Holmes, a member of SCOAN UK and part of the initial relief team. “This was 48 hours after the event when the world was still reeling.” Consistent with its name, ‘Church Of All Nations’, the preliminary team consisted of people spanning three continents and with a broad range of skills and expertise – doctors, nurses, engineers, pilots, humanitarian workers and evangelists inclusive.

Emmanuel TV Cargo Plane

One of the cargo planes that carried essential medical supplies to Clinique Emmanuel in Haiti

Merely a week later, planes were boarded and the team touched down in Cap Hatien, one of the few airports unaffected by the quake, located in the north of Haiti. A cargo plane, chartered from Florida and boldly emblazoned with the emblem of Emmanuel TV, arrived shortly afterwards and unloaded essential medical supplies and foodstuffs with the assistance of the United Nations. Carrying only a rucksack of personal necessities and a resolve to meet needs and solve problems, the team had arrived and the vision was nearing reality. Whereas most aid organizations had set up base in Port-au-Prince, the nation’s capital and scene of most carnage at the time of the quake, the ETV team decided to choose a location slightly away from the capital. Upon the advice of a local charity, Konpay, they chose Arcahaie, a small rural town of roughly 100,000 inhabitants 40km north-west of Port-au-Prince, a place many earthquake victims had run to for shelter. It was a ten hour journey along bumpy roads and over steep mountain paths with a jeep and two large trucks carrying the life-saving supplies and equipment.

For every member of the team, this was the first time they had ever entered a disaster zone of such magnitude. It was a journey of faith where obstacles did not dictate the direction. “We were told that we have no experience and that we should not go – but we went anyway,” declared Cara Lauchland, a SCOAN evangelist from the USA. “We were told that no flights are going in to Port-au-Prince so we flew in to Cap Haitien in the north. We were told that the roads were too damaged to drive on; we drove all the way without any problem down to Arcahaie.” They arrived on January 26th 2010.

Arcahaie: A Shocking Reality
Although Arcahaie was not as close to the quake’s epicenter and not as affected as the nation’s capital, the disaster had nonetheless taken its deadly toll on the primitive town, both physically and mentally. “The people were absolutely petrified after the quake,” explained Rachel Holmes, a SCOAN Evangelist from the United Kingdom and also part of the first team. “They thought that the end of the world had come. We met many with psychological problems. They kept thinking that the ground was always moving. And the government issued a warning that no one should sleep inside their house, so everyone was sleeping on the road or in their yard under sheeting or rough plastic. People were frightened to be inside.”

The people of Arcahaie

The people of Arcahaie cry out for Clinique Emmanuel to establish a hospital in their community after the devestating earthquake of January 12th 2010

With plantain farming and fishing providing the main source of income for the people of Arcahaie and a staple diet of bananas, the community was already in abject poverty before the quake hit. “There is no central water supply, limited electricity and no sewage,” Rachel continued. “Most people drink water from dirty wells, from the gutter by the road, or water which collects on the roof of their house. Most of them have never had simple advice such as the need to boil the water before drinking it. Due to this many are very sick, especially the children.”

The privilege of free health care that many enjoy is merely an illusion for the majority of Haitians. Speaking of the team’s initial surveillance of the area soon to become their new abode, Rachel added: “When walking around town, we came to notice that the children would play with no pants on and sit in the gutters – so they got infections, even tiny babies. This was a big problem – no hygiene at all, no awareness of dirt bringing germs and sickness. There has been no community health care. They just lived or died with their complaints. Getting to hospital was impossible for most people because it was so far and they couldn’t pay. Plus there was no transport. The need is very dire.”

Clinique Emmanuel
With the help of community leaders, a plot of land in the outskirts of the town and a nearby well was located. Physical eyes beheld an abandoned piece of land with some uncompleted buildings, but faith saw a thriving medical clinic providing primary health care for an entire community. With the sea as their shower, a hole as their toilet and banana leaves as their mattress, tents were pitched on the stony ground and Clinique Emmanuel was born. Almost immediately following their arrival, people found out and crowds of sick and suffering began swarming to the area. Both injuries inflicted during the earthquake and longstanding illnesses that before had no source of treatment were brought and the clinic began its work. As Fiona Tonge, a SCOAN Evangelist from England with nursing experience put it, “Out of a heart of compassion and an instruction in righteousness, things which seemed impossible became possible. From nothing, from an idea, a concept – came people, medical and food supplies, a plane, vehicles to navigate the mountain roads and a piece of land to pitch our tents.”

Working almost non-stop in the sweltering heat from dawn until dusk, with the doctors and nurses attending up to 80 people on a daily basis, the team worked selflessly to meet the needs of the Haitian people. Local support for the mission thrived and people willingly volunteered to serve as translators, the main language of the locals being Haitian Creole. A number of native nurses also joined the mission and volunteered their services. God’s provision and direction was evident right from the onset. “Grace just abounded”, said Nick when recalling the beginnings of the clinic. “I saw practically that where God directs, He provides. There are countless little stories of almost impossible situations where God took control.”

Life Amidst Death
With the project still in its earliest stages, one story stands out as a testament to Clinique Emmanuel’s vision and mission. A mother was rushed to the camp, already in labour and extreme pain. “She came when we were not properly set up,” Rachel remembers. “We had no beds set up, so she delivered on the concrete. It was very touching because she was so grateful to have medical staff there and to be able to say she had given birth in a ‘safe’ environment – an environment which to us needed to be seriously worked on! Once the baby was born, she told the translator that she would call her Emmanuella after Clinique Emmanuel.” A testimony to the new life Clinique Emmanuel was breathing into a community distraught with death and despair, Baby Emmanuella was the first of countless babies to be born safely in the clinic in the coming months.

An orphan in Haiti

The children of Haiti - you cannot afford to fail them. Failing them is failing God.

T.B. Joshua’s Passionate Appeal
With Clinique Emmanuel firmly established, T.B. Joshua made a passionate appeal to the viewers of Emmanuel TV to support God’s project in Haiti. “As regards what is happening in Haiti, we cannot pretend not to see,” he admonished. “We are one another’s strength. Remember Christ says, all our doings without love are nothing. A true Christian is known by his love. Ultimately, we are called to respond to all human needs for that is what love entails.

“The people of Haiti need you at this time. They are homeless, like sheep without a shepherd. God has no hands but only our hands to reach them. Love the children of Haiti for God’s sake and you will be loved. Give to the people of Haiti for God’s sake and you will receive the mercy and favour of God. Looking the other way when your neighbour in Haiti is in trouble is tantamount to rejecting Christ himself. Whatever is in your hand now is a solution to the people of Haiti. Remember, whatever you do to the people of Haiti, that you do unto God. Therefore, help the people of Haiti. Help the children of Haiti; they are the future of Haiti.”

The response was truly overwhelming, as viewers worldwide called to pledge support for the project in Haiti. This was God’s project, and He was providing for every need. “It was an example of the church feeling other people’s pain,” added Nick. “That was clearly the driver. I think you could say this is really an example of faith working through love.”

Miraculous Stories
Evidence of God’s miraculous power and provision were seen recurrently, mirrored in the story of an incredible birth at Clinique Emmanuel. “His mother came in the early evening in the 2nd stage of labour,” Rachel explained. “This was her second child – her first had been stillborn. Around 11pm the baby was born – he was stillborn. The black baby was blue and totally lifeless. It was a boy. The mother was just staring at us and the doctor was holding the baby upside down trying to see if there was any mucus in the lungs – no response. Then mouth to mouth was applied. The baby would not come around – he was gone. We rushed to get the Anointing Water and we sprayed it on the little boy. Slowly but surely he began to turn pink and started breathing. Eventually he cried and his mother just stared at us! He came back the next day very happy and healthy. It was an absolute miracle.” In honour of the man who actually inspired Clinique Emmanuel, the miracle baby was named ‘Joshua.’

Such example echoed that of hundreds whose lives were saved through the intervention of Clinique Emmanuel. “Literally, everyday there were situations where lives were saved, and that made any personal inconvenience seem so trivial,” explained Gary Tonge, another member of the first Haiti team and a SCOAN Evangelist. “We are actually making a difference,” Daniel Koots, an Australian, passionately told Read Us. “The people we meet, the people we give tents to and the people treated in the clinic – their lives have changed. Clinique Emmanuel is actually saving lives.”

“Wounds have been dressed, sicknesses have been treated, babies have been born, water has been purified, tents have been installed, children have been sponsored to school, empty stomachs have been filled, and many individuals have chosen to make God’s Word the standard for their lives,” wrote Angela Brandt, a SCOAN Evangelist from America. “Each morning brings new challenges, new problems, new difficulties – but each evening sees new plans, new projects and new solutions. Jesus is the solution.”

Communal Approval
Weeks turned to months and Clinique Emmanuel forged ahead, driven by the unprecedented need around and the realisation that each gift and strength God had given were meant to meet such needs. This was a long-term commitment. Different international doctors and nurses who had taken up the call to assist came and left, with a rotational system in operation. The clinic was having such an impact on the community that the local mayor decided to give the land they had established to Emmanuel TV free of charge, in response to their relentless efforts to aid the community.

Jean Elie, a local carpenter voiced the opinion of the people in a community meeting held to discuss Emmanuel TV’s future in Haiti. “I believe that Emmanuel TV is the biggest blessing God could send to us. The earthquake did a lot of damage to us, but the biggest support it sent to us is Emmanuel TV. It’s the biggest gift given to us. It’s a privilege to have Emmanuel TV. If not, many people in Arcahaie would not have survived. Emmanuel TV, we love you very much because you love us very much. We are ready to do all we can to make you stay with us. You don’t know how your help is benefitting the people of Arcahaie. We are not able to give you back. God alone can reward you.”

Rene Preval

Rene Preval, the Haitian President, met with representatives of Clinique Emmanuel during his visit to Archahaie

Speaking on Clinique Emmanuel’s remarkable impact, Elvis Buquo, a Greek assistant nurse who was in Haiti for five weeks, said, “Clinique Emmanuel is an oasis in the desert. It is there so that people would not lose hope. It is for the people to calm their pain, regain their strength and to start rebuilding their life on a better foundation – with God Almighty.”

Another pivotal moment in the journey of Clinique Emmanuel, epitomising the impact it has had so far on the Haitian nation, was the visit of Haiti’s President Rene Preval on May 17th. He came to thank Emmanuel TV for their selfless efforts and pledge his support to the clinic’s future.

Supporting Other Organisations
Bound by a common bond to help the Haitians, Emmanuel TV also worked with other organizations to spread practical and medical support to the orphans and homeless of Haiti. With a number of make-shift camps springing up sporadically around the affected-areas, many were sleeping out in the open or under improvised coverings, like bed sheets held up with sticks, and urgently needed shelter, especially in view of the impending rainy season.

The Emmanuel TV Haiti Earthquake Relief Team worked with aid organizations such as ‘Shelter Box’ and OIM, visiting different orphanages and refugee camps around Haiti providing aid, large tents and medical care as well as educational supplies for the children. Another organisation they have lent their support to is ‘Love A Child Earthquake Relief Centre’ in Fond Parisien, Haiti to which many earthquake victims have been transferred from Port-au-Prince to receive follow-up treatment.

Recalling a particular occasion when supplying tents to a Haitian community which remains imprinted in her heart and mind, Rachel said: “One such moment, which will not leave me, was when we drove onto a piece of wasteland covered with sticks and pieces of plastic sheeting blowing about in the breeze. These were what people called home. A desperate attempt at forming some kind of shelter from the rubbish left behind after the earthquake. There were children everywhere. Children left with no parents. Children just left. They crowded around us as if we had the whole world in our hands and could solve every problem under the sun. Fathers cried out that they had no mothers for their children. Mothers pleaded that they had no husbands to take care of their families. A small child tugged at my trousers and asked me a question. My translator looked at me and said, “She asked if you would be her mummy, can she please, please come home with you?” All I could offer them was the tents stacked up in the back of our vehicles. It seemed so little in comparison to their needs”

These experiences remain in the hearts of the team. Australian lawyer Naomi Karp recalling another sober incident, said: “The earthquake while tragic seemed so remote from my lounge room in Sydney, Australia – but when I arrived, I discovered people so desperately in need of assistance and so grateful to receive it,” she began. “What stood out for me is an orphanage where we ministered much needed shelter, medical and educational help. I was really touched by a 3 year old boy who was sick with an infection, dressed in just a t-shirt who could no longer walk and had lost his family in the earthquake. What a blessing to see him transformed after receiving this help, laughing and playing football with the other children.”

Selflessness Amidst Suffering
In the midst of their extreme need, the selflessness and community spirit was also evident amongst the Haitians, who were pulling together at their time of greatest lack to build each other up. “I was touched by the way men in a camp for refugees form Port-au-Prince vigorously helped us pitch tents for the aged, infirm and little children, knowing they would still not be sheltered themselves, ” noted Peter Karp, an Australian lawyer also part of the relief team.

The children of Haiti

The children of Haiti praising God at Clinique Emmanuel

Janet Holmes, a member of SCOAN UK who went to Haiti in February 2010 for three weeks, remembered another experience that made a lasting impression on her: “On one day, one encounter in particular, touched me deeply. We went to visit a local pastor, who, despite having very little by way of material provision himself, has taken as his own family twenty young children orphaned by the earthquake. Like the Good Samaritan in Luke 10, he may not be in the best position to help, but the little he has he is willing to give and share with those in need – and what these children most need is the love and security of a family. Their smiling faces and cheerful laughter remain with me. By the grace of God and through the generosity of Emmanuel TV Partners and viewers, we were able to erect several tents for the children to sleep in and to supply them with some rice and medical supplies.”

Let It Rain
Another example of God’s clear intervention and direction in the running of Clinique Emmanuel was the divine rainfall that occurred following the prayers of Prophet T.B. Joshua. “The weather had become extreme and team members were beginning to get rashes because of the heat,” explained Angela. “People in the town were getting sick and there was need for rain. So, I called the prophet and told him and he said he would pray, that there would be rain. I told all the workers that the prophet had said there would be rain and he would pray. Within a few hours rain poured down in the town! When they called Port-au-Prince and asked if they had had any rain there – there was none! The rain was only in our town. All the workers were amazed!”

What The Future Holds…
Clinique Emmanuel is committed to rebuilding the Haitian society, and ensuring their children have the opportunity they need to grow to their fullest potential. However, they cannot do it alone. Whether through financial support, the provision of medical supplies or volunteering your skills and strengths to go out to Haiti, they need you. You too can be part of this life-saving venture. You too can make a difference. You too can be the hands and feet of Jesus.

“What difference have you made today?” asks Peter Renner. “I will not kid you, the road to self sufficiency in Haiti will not be an easy one, neither will it be done overnight; the stench of death is so real in Haiti. Clinique Emmanuel is doing wonders. But deep within their hearts, the Haitians fear we are going to abandon them, like it has been in the past. Are we committed enough? I ask: Are you in the medical profession? Are you an engineer? Can you cook? Are you a dentist? Can you drive or can you teach? Everyone has a place in Haiti.”

The service at The Synagogue, Church Of All Nations began with the usual morning prayer followed by an inspiring Easter message by Evangelist Racine titled, “INSTRUCTION IN RIGHTEOUSNESS”.The man of God, T.B. Joshua came into the service about 10:20 am. He wished everyone a happy Palm Sunday and urged all believers in Christ Jesus to continue to live in the glory and majesty of His resurrection. According to him, “Easter is all about love, redemption, forgiveness, repentance and forbearance. It is time to confess in faith. Whatever a man confesses in faith, he shall receive because our confession solves the problem. Our confession is our present attitude towards God. Therefore, we should be very careful of what we confess. Your confession is what God says about your situation. Let the Spirit of God guide you in whatever you say or do. The confession of our lips should have our heart’s full agreement. Do not say “Amen” because T.B. Joshua says, “in the name of Jesus Christ”, say “Amen” because you believe. This is the traditional or conventional way of life in which most of us were brought up. If you say, “Amen” when you do not believe, it’s like you are working against yourself because a wrong confession hinders the Spirit’s work in our body. If I say, “Show your excitement” and you are not happy, do not bother because you are in the presence of God.”
After the brief message, the prophet talked about the confirmation of the prophetic message concerning an Asian country given on the 14th of February 2010, which he expounded upon last Sunday, the 21st of March. He had prophesied earlier that we should pray for an Asian country, saying, “Those who lodge in hotel, I see an Asian country. I see a place where thousands of people lodge being burnt.” He mentioned that the event would take place in an Asian country with, “IN” at the initial letters of the spelling of the name, adding that he would set prayer warriors to pray over this matter.

TB Joshua

He ended by saying, “Fast and pray on Tuesday.” Last Sunday, 21ST March, the prophet repeated the prophecy, this time giving the name of the Asian country in question. He said, “Pray for India. Remember the country in your prayers. Fast and pray on Tuesday”. In direct confirmation of the prophecy, breaking news footage on CNN on Tuesday showed a report of the fire outbreak in a historic eatery and residential building in Kolkata, India. The prophet noted that if not for God’s intervention, thousands would have lost their lives.
Next, video footage featuring the update of the activities of the Emmanuel TV Haiti Earthquake Relief Team was shown. The reputation of the Emmanuel TV Haiti Earthquake Relief Team has grown to the extent that some large international aid organizations such as OIM and Shelter Box have begun to contribute to their efforts. So far, a large amount of educational materials and large tents have been donated to the Emmanuel TV Team in confidence that in their hands these supplies would get to the people who really needed them most. The Team visited orphanage homes in Arcahaie where they provided several tents as well as educational packs, water purification tablets and medical assistance for the children.
The Team also visited refugee camps outside the capital Port-au-Prince, where they gave out over 20 tents to the most vulnerable people who had been affected by the earthquake. More partners and friends of Emmanuel TV from the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, South Africa and Greece joined the Team in Haiti.
The Team from Greece, the most recent group to join the Emmanuel TV Haiti Earthquake relief team in Haiti, took with them a large amount of medical supplies and other essential materials needed at the Emmanuel TV field hospital, Clinique Emmanuel.
SCHOLARSHIPS
During the service, over 30 students from various schools and universities in Nigeria and other countries who are all a part of T.B. Joshua’s scholarship scheme received their school fees, accommodation, feeding allowances as well as 2 bags of rice each for the new term. Among those who spoke in appreciation of T.B. Joshua’s benevolence was Benjamin Aduna Kwane, a Ghanaian and BSc. student of Administration in the University of Ghana, who the man of God granted a scholarship in August, 2009.

Scholarship For Students

He has completed his first semester and has come for fees for tuition, accommodation, feeding and projects for the new semester. He concluded his speech by saying that not only has he benefitted financially and spiritually from the man of God, as have many other students but also that he has learnt from the prophet’s act of giving which he sees as worth emulating. In his response, the prophet said that there is no greater will than to raise people in righteousness by offering support and assistance to them without any condition attached so that after their university education, when they are better placed, they would also be a help to others.
The total sum received by these students was 3.1 million naira for their school fees, accommodation, feeding and other needs in addition to 2 bags of rice for each of them.
PROPHECY
Among the numerous people who received messages of prophecy through the prophet that day was Mr Kunle Adeyemi who came to The SCOAN last Sunday because his job was terminated. During the service, the prophet prophesied that there was a man named Kunle who had two homes, two “wives” but only one of them was known to his family. Concerning the second wife, the man of God revealed that there was a plan by certain criminals to attack Mr Kunle one early morning when he would be in the house.

Prophecy

If he was not killed, he would become a “dead-living”. After the prophecy last Sunday, the prophet invited his wife and him for reconciliation and the service today witnessed that reconciliation as Mr Kunle’s wife graciously forgave him.
PRAYER LINE
Prayer Line

Prayer Line

After this, the man of God proceeded to the prayer line section where thousands of people were waiting to receive succor from the Lord for their various problems.
Testimony

Testimony

The prayer began as usual with those who came with bodily afflictions such as leg ulcer, swollen belly and body, hernia and cancer cases, followed by those with difficulties in walking, mental disorders, epilepsy and similar conditions. Then came people who were diagnosed HIV/AIDS positive from different countries before those with general cases such as stiff neck, fruit of the womb, stomach ulcer, diabetes, hypertension, liver, kidney and heart problems and so on. There were many foreign visitors from various countries also in attendance. In course of the prayer, Prophet T.B. Joshua also ministered the new Anointing Water to the sick and they were all healed. The first service ended at 2:20 PM.
TESTIMONIES
The second service started with testimonies from those who had received healing from using the Anointing Water. Firstly, Mrs Okonkwo Chinwe who came with lumbar spondylosis and was using a lumbar corset and knee braces to ease the pain, was healed through the new Anointing Water at the prayer line. Mr Joshua Ovwo who suffered from the problem of stiff neck due to cervical spondylosis and consequently was using a neck collar was also healed through the ministering of the Anointing Water at the prayer line.
Anointed Water Testimony

Anointed Water Testimony

Thirdly, Mr Oviemuno Amraidhe from Delta State testified of how he came to the church a few months ago and the Anointed Water he received from the man of God broke the yoke of barrenness in the lives of his wife and two other women. Mr Amraidhe’s wife, Christy Amraidhe, was diagnosed with the problem of inverted womb. One of the two other women was his brother’s wife, Mrs Ugbosu Sylvestina, a legal practitioner and Mrs Adline Blessing who suffered a tubal blockage due to blood clotting in her tubes. After they all had Anointing Water sprayed into their mouths they met with their husbands and are now seven months pregnant.
Praise and worship by The SCOAN choir followed the testimonies until the prophet returned to the church auditorium to begin the mass prayer. The prophet asked the congregation to rebuke the spirit that kills, steals and destroys and to remove the hands of evil spirits from their affairs.
During the mass prayer, the man of God dished out astonishing prophetic messages. The first prophecy concerned a lady who the man of God said was under the church gallery and was a prostitute living in a hotel. With tears flowing down her face, Miss Rosemary came forward to confirm the prophecy. The prophet said that this lady came seeking deliverance and she must not return to the hotel. After her deliverance, Prophet T.B. Joshua said that people of God should join hands to restore her. Another case was a lady the man of God described as tall, light in complexion and aged 32. The prophet said she was a bed-wetter and that it was an attack. She also possessed a ghost spirit and any man who met with her would in turn, bed-wet.
Prophet T.B. Joshua also gave a national prophecy. He said, “Let us pray for our countries and ask God to redeem your land. I see a flag being brought down. Which country? I see three. One and two were wet but now the third. Wet flag cannot fly but goes down. Pray for your country for redemption.” Then the song, ‘God’s intervention’ was sung while the congregation reflected over the prophet’s words. After the song, the man of God gave instruction to believers worldwide to observe fasting on Tuesday and Thursday concerning the prophecy.
The service ended around 7:00 PM rounded up with the deliverance of some of the people who had received a word of prophecy including the prostitute and the lady who used to bed-wet. Join us again next week for the next live service at the SCOAN to witness the evidence of Jesus Christ which is lives changed, Only on Emmanuel TV. Emmanuel! God with us.

On Sunday morning the 22nd of March 2010, people flocked to The Synagogue, Church Of All Nations, some came for healing at the prayerline, some came for the first time, others came to their usual seat being members of the renowned Church (whose service is broadcast live every week on their TV station, Emmanuel TV) to see the mighty power of God working in the Spirit.

The service began at 9am with worship and praise, cultivating an atmosphere of faith in the huge auditorium. At 10am sharp, Evangelist Evelyn Joshua (T.B. Joshua’s wife) came out to give a message titled, ‘Walking In His Grace’. She spoke boldly telling us that, “The peace of conscience we derive from walking with the Lord, produces internal joy.” And that, “Rebuilding us requires our attention, commitment, our desire and obedience to God’s Word.” She also reminded us that “No one can succeed alone”. After around 40 minutes of preaching Evangelist Evelyn concluded by saying, “As long as we keep walking in His grace we will not be without the Father, without the Helper”.

The choir picked up again, then T.B. Joshua himself came out. After commending the message, he brought out the new anointing water and from the crowd’s reaction – something they have all been waiting for. He brought out three packaged waters in different coloured containers, orange – for fruit of the womb, green – for healing and deliverance and purple for blessing and prosperity. He explained that God can use any medium to express Himself and described the anointing water as a means to set one apart for God’s attention. As he was talking a queue formed of those who had testimonies to share after using the anointing water.

Broken Bone

Broken Bone Healed

First up was Corporal Sugir Kabir Amos, from Anambra State, Nigeria who had broken both legs two years earlier in a motor accident. He explained that after the accident, he was operated on, twice – showing us photographs of when he was hospitalised and finally discharged with a walking frame.

We watched the video of him coming to The SCOAN with the same walking frame, slowly moving along with it, limiting him greatly. Next he was in the prayerline where Prophet T.B. Joshua prayed for him and administered the anointing water. One minute he was sitting pleading for healing, the next minute he was standing, then walking, rejoicing at God’s mighty power that healed him in moments. Jesus Christ continues to show Himself strong in the lives of those who put their trust in Him.

Next up were a couple Mr & Mrs Okorie from Ebonyi state, Nigeria. The lady had, had the problem of ovarian cyst and multiple fibroid. She explained that when she had told the doctors that she wanted to operate – they asked her ‘why now?’ She said because the cyst was so large that people always asked if she was pregnant. A painful question for a lady who had been told by doctors that due to her condition she was unable to conceive.

Healed of ovarian cyst and multiple fibroids

After moving back and forth from hospital to hospital and after being operated on and then referred. She got frustrated and gave up hope for medical assistance. Then she watched Emmanuel TV where she saw men and woman of different nationalities who once faced similar problems as herself, now standing with their new baby giving testimony after using the anointing water given to them by T.B. Joshua. She immediately set out for the following service day with one aim in mind – to get some of the anointing water for herself. She came and received the anointing water for the fruit of the womb. One week later, her check up was due at the hospital. To the doctor’s and her great surprise, the medical report showed that the large cyst and multiple fibroids were gone! Not only that but she was pregnant! God can surely use any means to reach the needs of His people. What is impossible to man, is possible for God Almighty who is the same yesterday, today and for ever.

Many other testimonies followed and due to the large crowd it became obvious that using such means as the anointing water many lives could benefit from the saving, healing and delivering grace within. God continues to use everything He’s created. A pamphlet also went round to explain the use of the anointing water.

After the faith building testimonies, T.B. Joshua moved directly to the prayerline where many sick people were waiting for prayer. Among them was Pastor Rowland Ekwerike who had come all the way from Indianapolis, USA. He had lost the ability to speak clearly – as a minister of the Gospel this posed a great obstacle. T.B. Joshua poured the anointing water into his mouth and moments later he began preaching powerfully to the congregation! Just as Jesus Christ used Paul and anything that came into contact with him – to heal all manners of sicknesses and diseases. As it was, so it is. Jesus’ power is not stopped just because He is no longer visibly in our midst. His power and effectiveness are even greater today because He can be present in all places at all times by His Spirit.

After the prayerline there was a mass prayer session where more people were healed and set free both inside and outside of the auditorium where an over flow crowd was gathered.

The first service came to a close at 2.30pm and the second service soon followed where many prophecies and more instant testimonies were given. After this for those who remained, T.B. Joshua distributed the new anointing water. Some even at the mere receiving of the carton began to shake, roll and manifest – God chooses grace rather than works. He does as He wills and can use any medium to express Himself. Blessed, refreshed and made new was the mood that people left the auditorium satisfied and confident that as Christians, no matter the situation, Jesus Christ can see them through, after having so many cases to strengthen their faith. God keeps giving us reasons to praise His Holy name. Keep watching Emmanuel TV for rebroadcasts of the service as T.B. Joshua says, “Better is not good enough; the best is yet to come!”

An article found in The African Times of USA concerning the recent philanthrophic activities of the Emmanuel TV Haiti Earthquake Relief Team…

Nigerian Synagogue Mobilises Aid For Haiti

The global effort to bring relief to the people of earthquake-ravaged Haiti received a major boost from a leading Nigerian religious organization, The Synagogue Church Of All Nations (SCOAN). The congregation joined other individuals, government entities and philanthropists in Nigeria and various African countries that have donated cash and relief items to help in alleviating the sufferings of survivors of the recent Haitian catastrophe.

Cargo Plane, Aid For Haiti

Cargo Plane Chartered By Emmanuel TV

The leadership of the church buoyed with donations from its members and viewers of its affiliate satellite television network, Emmanuel TV, announced the launch of a massive relief program shortly after the quake became known.

Prophet T.B. Joshua, founder and prelate of SCOAN has since led an effort and organized a charter flight directly to Port-au-Prince ferrying a team of medical personnel, and other health care professionals who are partners of his ministry, with items ranging from assorted medical supplies, sanitary equipment and tents to other life-saving essentials.

On arrival in Port-Au-Prince, The SCOAN team set up clinics and relief canters to attend to the wounded and the needy and have been attending to thousands of the quake victims daily.

Since then, The SCOAN has been unrelenting on its drive to raise both funds and awareness for the Haitians. And currently running on its TV network is a passionate appeal from Prophet Joshua to its viewers around the world where he appeals for assistance. “As regards what is happening in Haiti,” appealed Pastor Joshua, “we cannot pretend not to see that we are one another’s strength.”

Prophet Joshua told The African Times-USA in Lagos that his team will remain in Haiti for as long as it takes to restore some stability to the country and its grief-stricken people. On what motivates him to charity for which he and his Emmanuel TV have become well known, Pastor Joshua pointed to the message in one of his sermons.

Said he: “If we must receive, we must first learn to give. Whatever we do to our fellow human being, that we also do unto the Lord Jesus Christ. The people of Haiti are homeless and destitute today that we may be their benefactors. That is what Christianity is all about.”

To many, christmas is a time of celebration and joy – but as much as it a time for this, it is also a time to give. Jesus Christ desires and deserves your best – because He has given you His best. Christmas therefore is a time to give your best – your best time, love, strength, energy, effort – every good thing the Lord has given you. This is the true essence of christmas…

This christmas, Pastor TB Joshua demonstrated that there is more joy in giving than in receiving! It is challenge for all of us to rededicate ourselves to the acts of giving in this festive season. Read on…

One of the biggest problems ever present in the average Nigerian community is that of electricity supply. In most places, power supply is very epileptic, so much so that it cripples economic activities.

The government of the nation has continuously failed in its promises to deliver stable electricity supply to the people, and so the people have resorted to generating their private power via mechanical generating sets, which cost a fortune to acquire and much more to maintain. These developments create a big vacuum for those people who cannot afford to purchase their own generating sets as well as keep them running.

Worse still is the case of some communities which cannot boast of a reliable transformer to meet their electrical needs. Such communities are left in a world of their own; which is primarily a world of darkness and lack of access to electricity supply. In a bid to fend for themselves, these communities have to organise themselves to form a unit and thrive to pull funds in order to purchase their transformer. The realisation of the fact that these transformers actually cost a fortune effectively puts an end to their quest to acquire them. Finally, the last resort; which will only apply to those who are fortunate enough to have the opportunity is to appeal to well-to-do members of their community who can afford to purchase the transformer for them, and have the track record of philanthropic propensity.

The above scenario played itself out recently when members of the sleepy Bolorun-pelu neighbourhood of Ikotun-Egbe, Lagos, came to thank Prophet TB Joshua for his philanthropic activities that have ensured that they would cease to live in darkness and enjoy the benefits of accessibility to constant electric light.

Christmas is all about giving

Thursday October 2009, was the day. Members of the community were greeted with a very loud sound that emanated from the electrical transformer at the entrance of their community. The loud sound signalled the disruption of regular electrical supply to the community. Immediate efforts were put in place to ensure that the transformer was restored to its previous functional state; efforts which ended in futility. At this point, the community leaders decided to table their plight with their benevolent neighbour, Prophet TB Joshua, whose characteristic charitable gestures have endeared him to many.

Originally, the community was using a single transformer. This was the primary cause of the collapse of the transformer, as it was unable to function for the community due to overload.

Representatives of the community converged at The Synagogue Church of All Nations to inform Prophet TB Joshua of their predicament and appealed for his support in their quest to purchase a new transformer.

Responding to their appeal, Prophet TB Joshua reiterated that he saw the community as his neighbour and would ensure that he loved them to the best of his ability and put smiles back on their faces. He promised to purchase two transformers for the community and ensure that they were both installed.

On Monday 21st December 2009, a large number of the community members turned out at The Synagogue Church Of All Nations to create a carnival-like atmosphere as they came to thank Prophet TB Joshua for purchasing and installing two transformers for their community. The spokesperson for the group recalled how the whole episode began.

He said: “My name is Adeleke Luqman and I represent the people who have come here today to say a very big thank you to Prophet TB Joshua for making sure that we, his neighbours will never be put to shame and ensuring that we can boldly say to the whole world that we are neighbours to Propjet TB Joshua and the Synagogue.”

“We came here recently to complain to Prophet TB Joshua that we have been suffering from power supply for some time. This we did because in the past he has been the one that we always run to for help whenever we have any problem that is bigger than us to solve, and each time he would make sure that we go back home with joy.”

He continued: “When we came, we told him of our predicament and he promised us that he would ensure that we would not complain about transformer again. We went home happily because like I said, anytime we come to him to help us for anything he always tells us that we are his neighbour and anything that bothers us will also bother him, so he will solve the problem for us. For example, the last transformer that just got spoilt, he is the one that bought it for us and many other things like that.”

He concluded: “We have come now to thank him because now we are happy that the transformers have been bought, not only that, but it has also been installed and now we are enjoying our power supply thanks to the support of Prophet TB Joshua. That is why we are here today to say a big thank you to him and to thank God for his life. We are also living witnesses to the good things that God is using Prophet TB Joshua to do. Some of us are not Christians, yet he does not discriminate against us, he takes us as one of his own.”

At the end of the ceremony, Prophet TB Joshua instructed that each member of the community that came out on the day be presented with a bag of rice for the celebration of the yuletide. In addition, the leader of the community was handed the sum of N 300, 000 cash.

A letter of appreciation from a member of the community:

James 1:27 “Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit the fatherless and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.”

I have been in Bolorunpelu Ikotun for over 5 years now.

Though I am not a member of his church, but I have watched Prophet T.B Joshua of The Synagogue Church Of All Nations Ikotun Lagos, influence the lives of the people of the area and the whole world positively. As per the local Bolorunpelu Town in Ikotun Lagos Nigeria, I have seen great positive changes in the economic environment and lives of the people because of the presence of the church. Not to go too far . The issue of today is about the recent generous actions of Prophet T.B. Joshua to the people of Bolorunpelu Town and environ.

Big Christmas Tree

Christmas is a time to give your best

About 5 months ago, the transformer at Bolorunpelu exploded and was burnt to the ground, plunging everyone into darkness. The Great Prophet T.B Joshua with a heart of gold and sympathy saw this situation , then made a promise to the community to provide them with a brand new transformer to solve their recurrent electricity problem once and for all. True to his word , he donated two brand new transformers to the community, and without any financial contribution from the community installed them. As of Monday 21st December 2009, the transformers have being fully installed and electricity have returned to the community. All thanks to the Great Prophet T.B. Joshua of The Synagogue Church of All Nations.

I am taking this oppurtunity to personally thank Prophet T. B. Joshua , and wishing him the very best at this wonderful season of Christmas . God will definitely pay him back positively and prosper him more. As he has come to the aid of the fatherless and widows at this time, God will come to his aid always.

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY PROSPEROUS NEWYEAR

A report from today’s PM News detailing more of The SCOAN’s extensive charitable activities. Remember, your rewards in life are determined by the problems you solve for someone else.

A 27-year-old dwarf and final year student of the Ambrose Ali University, Ekpoma, Edo State, and her friend have become the latest beneficiaries of Prophet TB Joshua’s charity.

The duo got a brand new Nissan Sunny and N500,000 from the General Overseer of the Synagogue Church of All Nations recently.

Evelyn Cosy Omotekpen, who is a computer science student of the institution is said to be so short that she cannot walk long distances without the help of others.

But while facing so much challenges as a result of her stature which was almost getting her frustrated, she found Christiana Ehizua, who is now a graduate of Political Science from the same institution.

Recounting her ordeal before the gift, Evelyn told P.M.NEWS that she faced rejection and intimidation as a result of her stunted growth. She met her friend during a church service in campus and ever since then, she said Christiana has helped her do almost all the things she needed to do as a woman.

The sixth born of a family of seven children, the indigene of Uromi, Edo State said she preferred living with her friend because her friend was the only one who understood her.

“I met her in one of the campus fellowships. She came to me when I was crying and promised to always be there for me and even since, she has fulfilled her vow.

“Before my friend went for the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), she would always hire tax cabs to take me to school, because the public vehicles often refuse to carry me. When she went on her national assignment, I faced serious problems as even fellow Christians despised me,” Evelyn said adding that Christians often left Ekiti State where she was serving to take care of her.

Also, Christians told P.M. NEWS that assisting Evelyn has been tough for her as he has been rejected by her friends who could not understand why she decided to “create a burden” for herself. She further said that she was scared to seek employment as that would mean that she would have less time for Evelyn.

She claimed that since 2006, Evelyn has been living in her family house in Ekpoma. “I do back her when we are going out and carry her like a baby when inside a public vehicle,” she added.

They said they decided to visit the church after watching Emmanuel TV, a television channel owned by the church. “Even at the entrance to the church, they thought Evelyn was a small child and I had to tell the ushers that they should allow her inside as she was an adult,” Christiana explained.

While presenting the gift items to the two beneficiaries, Prophet Joshua, who was elated that Evelyn did not drop out of school as a result of the rejection from the society, also promised to establish a business centre for her when she graduates.

The man of God said the car would help ease her transportation problem while the money would be used by Christiana to set up a business to enable her continue with caring for her friend.

Prophet Joshua who tasked wealthy Nigerians on helping the poor in the society added that the case of Christiana and Evelyn was to pass a message that people faced situations because others have the solutions.

Evelyn who says the car is a proof that every condition is temporary, said she is now hopeful that after graduation, she would get married to the right man for her.

Another touching account of the charitable works in The SCOAN…

The story of Job in the holy book sounded like a fairy tale to Mr Ezekiel Ayodeji until the cruel hands of nature and man unleashed deadly blows on him in quick succession recently. Within two weeks he lost his wife to typhoid fever, his shop that was full of goods he had just purchased to fire and duped of the sum of N240, 000 by a close friend.

The physically challenged indigene of Ondo State had lived up to his dream of not being liability to anybody by acquiring skills in rewinding coils. In Year 2000, he married a fellow artisan, Medinat Omokeinde. Within five year of marriage, the family was blessed with three children. His business was also thriving. Consequently, he said they lived a life of paradise on earth.

Ezekiel Ayodeji, Physically Challenged

Mr Ezekiel Ayodeji and his three young children

Filled with the joy of having a peaceful home and without any premonition of early exit of either of the couples to the world beyond, he averred that they drew out plans for projects they would execute over a period of time. But this was not to be as the wife fell ill along the line. She was diagnosed of typhoid fever and all effort by medical doctors to cure her of the sickness proved abortive.

According to him, she passed on a few weeks after, precisely on June 5, 2009. With the sudden exit of his wife, Ayodeji’s life was shattered. The sorrow of losing his heartthrob barely 9 years after marrying her and the pain of becoming a single parent of three children shattered his whole existence.

As a strong adherent of traditional statutes, he observed 7-days confinement at home as a mark of respect for his beloved wife after the burial. As the end of the confinement period drew near, he braced himself up for a return to his business in order to have the wherewithal to cater for his three children and other pressing needs.

It is a real privilege to be in a position to give - TB Joshua

Suddenly, another arrow was thrust into his heart when he got a call on his mobile phone informing him that the shop he just stocked with goods had been razed by fire. Having lost his wife and means of livelihood within a week, his every hope was instantly lost and committing suicide became the best option but for the love of his children.

Speaking with National Life in Lagos last Sunday, Ayodeji tearfully recounted how joy and contentment that defined his life gave way to sorrow and gloom. “As you can see, I am physically challenged. But I resolved never to be a burden to anybody in my life. To live up to that, I learnt electrical rewinding and thereafter, carved a niche for myself in the job. My dexterity drew many customers to me and as a result, I delved into selling electrical wiring parts. When I had made enough money that I was certain would empower me to cater for a family, I married my late wife Medinat. She was such a nice wife that brought me good luck. Because of my turn around in my fortune, we started making plans for the future of our children and ourselves. But the whole plan suffered a serious setback when my wife fell sick. I took her to the hospital and spent so much all to no avail. One day, I was asked to go and buy drugs for her but when I returned, they told me that she passed on. The news devastated me a great deal. I got her family informed of the development and got no resistance whatsoever from them in going ahead to bury her.

“After the burial, I stayed back in the house for seven days as a sign of respect for her. When it was the seventh day, I heaved a sigh of relief that I would at least go back to my business to get money to feed my children. It was not long I thought about that that I received a call from my colleagues in the market that my shop had been razed by fire. When I heard the news, my whole life completely collapsed and various thoughts crossed my mind. Because I love my children so much I jettisoned all the unholy thought”.

His hope of living a meaning life again was rekindled when Governor Olusegun Mimiko visited the scene of the fire incident and promised to give financial relief to all the victims. What that, smile returned to his face. He then relied on a close friend who was saddled with the responsibility of giving details of each victim’s business financial worth to collect the governor’s monetary promise for him.

Even though, the governor made good his promise by approving the sum of N250, 000 for Ayodeji, the story became the third sojourn into another life of sorrow. He narrated that his friend who was very much aware of his predicament, collected the money on his behalf but merely sent him a token sum of N10, 000 and bolted with the remaining.

Mr Elijah Ayodele

Confused over what could have informed his friend’s inhuman action, Ayodeji explained how all efforts he made to retrieve the money from his friend proved abortive.

“I am very surprised by my friend’s action. He was put in charge of giving the government details of our loss to the inferno but after collecting N250, 000 on my behalf, he only sent N10, 000 to me and ran away with the balance. This is a person who was duly informed of my pitiable plight but still went ahead to confiscate the money that the governor approved for me to start up after the fire incident that razed my shop. I called him severally but he would not act accordingly. At a stage, he stopped taking my calls. I went and reported him to the Commissioner for Environment but all efforts to get him to return the money falied”.

Left with no money to make both ends meet, Ayodeji said he had his children sent out of school while his landlord threatened to eject him for unpaid rent. To save his children, from pangs of hunger, he stated that he had to take to the street to beg neighbours and privileged members of his community for help. “When I didn’t have money to feed my children, I resorted to begging people for help. I bought food on credit for a period of time and such opportunities closed I started begging people around for both money and food”.

Now a silver lining seems to have appeared at the end of his dark cloud. Besides being financial empowered, Ayodeji is now a proud owner of a Mercedes Benz and has fast forgotten his past. He explains to sudden turn around in his fortune to National Life.

God blesses us not only that we may be able to earn a living, but also that we may be able to give - TB Joshua

“I must confess to you that I was terribly weighed down by all those bitter experiences. One day, while ruminating on the way out of these problems, my mind went to Synagogue Church of All Nations. I had heard and seen how people who had problems were helped there. With faith, I went there and as God would have it, Prophet T.B Joshua revealed the whole problem in his prophecy.

“Thereafter, he gave me the sum of N300, 000 to start my business all over and also gave me a Mercedes Benz. Somebody had presented him with the car, but he gave it to me and made provision for the maintenance. Now my children can go back to school and I can live a meaningful life again”.
