After the songs of praise and worship by which the day’s service commenced were over, Wise Man Daniel proceeded to give the message entitled, ‘Trusting In Christ’s Suffering’ by which he reminded the congregation that Christ died on the Cross to provide our needs which he said were healing, deliverance, blessing among others. He cited 1st Peter 2:21-24 as his proof text. Dwelling on the significance of Palm Sunday, he averred that that the Lord’s instruction regarding the donkey was characteristically not vague. Jesus is a Man of vision who says what He means and means what He says. His was instruction in boldness, certainty, righteousness and power. His rebuke was for our peace. His death was miserable and His disciples must be ready to bear His cross. By His suffering there is assurance of life for us.

ANOINTING WATER STOPS ISSUE OF BLOOD
After the prophet’s usual introductory remarks about the new Anointing Water, there was a surge of congregants wishing to testify to the instrumentality of the Anointing Water. The first person to enjoy the opportunity of giving a testimony was Mrs Elizabeth Aghachiebonam of Ebonyi State, though resident in Abuja. Her problem, according to her, was the issue of blood for two years. She recounted the trouble her husband had taken to find a solution for her in hospitals and churches without hitting any success. The problem started as internal heat and generated pain all over her body making her pass through sleepless nights. While people would be sleeping at night, she would see herself restless and reeling in pain. Coming to The SCOAN on the Thursday preceding the Sunday of testimony, she said she received the Anointing Water immediately on arrival and administered it on herself in compliance with the instruction. As soon as she applied it, the bleeding stopped. She happily told the congregation that she had started enjoying her nightly sleep and comfort of body following the staunching of the blood. She seized the opportunity to advise her listeners to have faith in the Lord, their Creator who is always there for them in times of need.

ANOINTING WATER OBVIATES OPERATION
The next testimony was given by the Akhere family. Mrs Akhere had been told by her doctor that she would require operation to deliver her baby because of her tight cervix. She therefore visited The SCOAN to seek the face of the Lord. She received the Anointing Water and administered it on herself in prayer for safe delivery. After this, she delivered her baby safely without operation. They named their baby Harry after Wise Man Harry. They profusely thanked God with whom, they recognized, nothing is impossible.

ANOINTING WATER AND GOD’S OMNIPRESENCE
The omnipresent nature of God was demonstrated with the Anointing Water in many parts of the world. The video clips revealed the work of the Anointing Water in other countries of which Greece was one. The clip showed a woman, Shaze Qualli who for twelve years depended on crutches for movement. The Anointing Water dispelled all the darkness in her and delivered her from all pain and infirmity. Another man who depended on crutches for movement was also delivered in the same way. There were many who, hitherto in the throes of contrary spirits, fell down under the anointing of the Holy Spirit and were delivered with the administration of the Anointing Water.

A similar feat was revealed in Ghana where a woman who had not been able to walk for years was declared free by an evangelist spraying the Anointing Water on her and she responded immediately by standing up to walk. A young man was also freed from evil spirits and he thanked God having been delivered through the medium of the Anointing Water. Mr John, a sergeant in the Ghanaian army, had for five years been incapacitated because of an injury he sustained in an accident. Spraying the new Anointing Water on him, an evangelist declared him free and he resumed walking immediately.

ANOINTING WATER RESTORES HEAD TO SHAPE
While the congregation was engrossed watching these miracles from other countries, an evangelist in The SCOAN had seen a young man in the church arranged in the prayer line because of a development in his head which made the head assume a very abnormal shape. The evangelist proceeded to spray the new Anointing Water on the head and, soon after, pus began to ooze from the head miraculously. In no time the head regained its normal shape after all the pus had come out. This was possibly the greatest miracle of the day as the evacuation of the pus left no mark or scar on the head after restoring the head to shape.

MARITAL UNDERSTANDING ACHIEVED
The next was the reconciliation of Mr and Mrs Elizabeth Aghachiebonam as hinted in the previous service. The next paragraph entitled MISUNDERSTANDING WORDS OF PROPHECY was their story in a nutshell at the end of service the week before. But to the glory of God, the couple reappeared on the platform this Sunday to thank God for their successful reconciliation and for the grace of understanding and appreciating each other the more as a couple. The very striking element of the reconciliation was the dream, Stella, the wife had in which she was told by Prophet T. B. Joshua to remove the ring and bangle on her hand. Contrary to her thinking that she never had those ornaments on her body to remove, the prophet proceeded beyond her skin into her bone to dislodge those ornaments which were an attestation to her union with a spiritual husband. The removal of these ornaments by the prophet marked a turning point in her marital relationship with IK, her earthly husband. The prophet once more appeared to her in a second dream and advised her to relate well to her husband and make ‘forgiveness’ a watchword in their marriage as there is no perfect person or relationship on earth. By the time she wanted to react to the prophet in the dream, he had vanished having laid a formidable spiritual foundation for the marriage. In his reaction, Mr Ikechukwu thanked the prophet for the effectual reconciliation. He added that they had been to the Mountain to pray in the effort to restore peace and love to their marriage. He once more thanked God and the man of God for the restored peace in their marriage.

MISUNDERSTANDING WORDS OF PROPHECY
The next video clip was among other reasons activated to correct the culpable presumptions among the congregants regarding the import of prophecies issued to them. In the said repartee between Wise Man Christopher and Mrs Ezekwelome, the latter corrected the wise man erroneously about her marital status. When Wise Man Christopher cautioned her to be careful about disappointments, the lady misinterpreted the expression and promptly told the wise man that she was already married. Making himself clearer, the wise man told her that he knew that. He was, on the contrary, simply warning her about the possible collapse of the marriage if care was not taken. Luckily for the wise man, her husband was around to add that he had sent her home the previous week because of her perceived misdemeanour. Defending herself on the last score, Mrs Ezekwelolome, a non working housewife, deprecated the repression she suffered in the hands of her husband who additionally habitually made her account for every kobo she received from him. She strongly felt that her views and wishes to engage in some private business deserved consideration by her husband. In his defence, the husband stated that apart from taking full charge of her education, he had sponsored her trips to France, Egypt and the United States of America. Her recent wish to go to Dubai for business in gold would put the entire family at risk apart from rendering him the sole caretaker of the children. Speaking on behalf of the womenfolk, about four women in the congregation expressed support for the husband and praised him for his consideration for the welfare of the entire family while advising the wife to be contented with the contributions of the husband to her well-being. The prophet, while inviting them to a reconciliation meeting, expressed the view that a marriage where both participants saw themselves as equally gifted in sophistication and intelligence and neither was ready to bow to the other was indeed a difficult one to manage but with God all things are possible.

MAN DELIVERED FROM IMPOTENCE
Mr Ameni Shabani of Congo DRC mounted the platform to confirm his deliverance from impotence last Sunday during the service. He had lost his wife to a houseboy because of his inability to dose sexual gratification to her. He lost his sexual virility when he was made to drink some concoction and wash himself with the water. He said his wife accused her of not finding time for her but added that he spent all his time looking for money for his wife in order to make the home comfortable. Both his wife and the houseboy took advantage of his loss of virility to redefine their relationship and started a sexual intimacy resulting in the loss of the wife to the houseboy. Mr Shabani added that his eloped wife later told him that only one of the two children they had together was his. It was for that reason he decided to leave both children for her till when he hoped to establish his paternity by DNA. Both ex-wife and houseboy now live together in South Africa. In answering the prophet’s question, Shabani stated that it was painful to lose his wife to a houseboy but in his state of loss of manhood then, there was nothing he could do. He was however happy for his deliverance which has put him in a position to consider getting married again. He expressed the hope of coming to The SCOAN after marriage on ‘a thank you mission’ with his new wife. He thanked God and the man of God for his restoration.

INTREPID JOURNEY TO SEE PROPHET
The next testimony was given by a young man, Mr Jeff Katanga from Zambia who came all the way from Zambia crossing not less than seven countries in a very long, tortuous and dangerous journey to Nigeria. The young man in question lost both parents recently in quick succession and found himself the caretaker of his siblings. The only hope for him in the present situation when he suddenly became the father of his siblings was Prophet T. B. Joshua. He saw the prophet as the only man who could offer him and his siblings financial help, going by what he had gleaned from Emmanuel TV. It was for that reason that he borrowed money from a widow and travelled from Zambia through Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Sudan, Chad and Cameroon to Nigeria. He particularly had challenges in Sudan which was half way between his country and Nigeria because of the civil war there. He was encouraged in his state of penury and physical exhaustion by the fact that if he could get to the Prophet, his condition would change for the better. He spent a total of thirty days on the way before getting to Nigeria on 19th January 2011. Unlike what many would do, he never wanted to shout to the man of God for help but decided to remain prayerful and fasting till God would reveal him to the prophet. He had decided not to be led by his situation because, as he learnt from Emmanuel TV, in every situation God is saying something. He deliberately took refuge in the vicinity of the church till God would reveal him in his plight to the prophet. Truly, when the prophet became aware of him, he welcomed him with the words, ‘You are in your Father’s house’ and promised him that when he would go back, he would enjoy a flight in contradistinction to the risky manner in which he had travelled to Nigeria. In response to the question on what he would have done supposing he never saw the prophet on arrival, he said he would have nigerianized rather than repeat that ordeal back to Zambia. The man of God praised him for his faith, courage and dogged will to succeed in life assuring him that he could see a bright future for him. The man of God however made it clear that his warm reception of the young man should not serve as an incentive for other young men to embark on such risky journeys. Assuring the congregation of prompt resumption of prophetic worship at 10 am the following day, he piloted the service to a close.

TO HIS POWER NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE
In a spirited sermon to awaken the congregation to the power of God,

Prophet T. B. Joshua reminded the Church of the greatness of God and His ready disposition to forgive sins, however grievous some of these sins may be. In his words God is capable of doing anything and also forgiving any sin. To His power nothing is impossible. Breaking in on the choral music which had been reverberating all over the Church and to which the congregation responded in unison with elegant steps, Prophet T. B. Joshua enthusiastically spoke on the forgiving spirit of God with copious illustrations. In his words, the past is forgiven. We have seen a sinner’s character healed, the drunkard becoming sober, the harlot becoming chastened and the liar becoming truthful. “What then is the fear?” he asked the congregation. He spiritedly reminded his listeners that if they trust in God, that trust will save them. Trusting in the suffering of Christ is enough to save us, deliver us and make us whole. He concluded the sermon by advising the congregation to remain in trust.

WHAT MUST I DO TO BE SAVED?

Wise Man John Chi introduced his message with a series of questions. How do we achieve a desired goal? Who wants to be saved? What must I do to be saved? He aptly referred the congregation to Acts 16: 29-32 which provided the answer to his questions: Believe in the Lord and you will be saved. According to him, God has promised salvation for whoever shall trust His Son. Race, age brackets, academic qualifications, wealth or any other attribute cannot save us outside Christ. If you are willing to be saved, Jesus is willing. Jesus brings hope and succour to those who trust Him. He is the bread to the hungry and road map to the lost. Whatever you are, you need Christ to be saved. God has a role to play in your salvation just as you too have a role to play. It takes your willingness and God’s ability to bring about your salvation.
Our hearts and minds must be reset to agree with God’s plan for our lives. You must get rid of those things that derail you from God. You cannot experience peace under the dominion of satan. Satan is sin. Another name for satan is sin.

Quoting Psalm 51:7 as a reference text the Wise Man admonished the congregation on the need to be cleansed of sins. According to him King David saw the need to be cleansed. Wash me with water whiter than snow and remove all impurity. David knew he would not have place in God’s kingdom unless he was washed from sins. In his sins, David could not see anything other than the fruit of sin: failure in the family, in the battle field etc. Unless you are cleansed of your sins, your blessing will receive challenges. The attitude of repentance and faith in your heart keeps you closer to God. Mistakes are correctable. If you make a mistake, don’t run from God; run to Him. Because David ran to God in spite of his sins, he remains one of the greatest Kings in Israel today. Your Father in Heaven has anticipated your sins and prepared for you. You have not committed an unpardonable sin. Our lives are in God’s hand and we cannot please Him without a thorough reformation of heart and life. God requires a heart that does not bear grudges. Doubts and unbelief put us on the wrong track. Jesus loves you just as He does any of His children. Jesus is able to forgive all our sins, he concluded.

THE SPIRIT OF APOSTLE PAUL HAS ARRIVED IN MACEDONIA
Wise Man, Harry and his wonderful performances in Macedonia attracted his comments. The prophet told the congregation that the crusade in Macedonia attracted a large turn out of participants. It was so wonderful and even comparable to those spiritually hosted by the prophet himself in Indonesia and Singapore. It had to be extended to the following day i.e. Sunday and Monday. Wise Man, Harry also revealed to Prophet T. B. Joshua his vision to be in Macedonia especially close to Paul and Silas’s prison for tourists to see the wonders of God.
A clip on the wonderful works being performed by Wise Man, Harry surfaced on the screen and the congregation watched with rapt interest.

RECONCILIATION OF BROKEN HOMES

Mr and Mrs Ifah brought out their children and Mrs Ifah, the spokesperson accused their daughter, Judith of witchcraft before the entire congregation. She narrated how a baby of hers died mysteriously after a period of excessive stooling. She painted a picture of lack of peace in their family and of the sickness of her husband which had defied healing.

The daughter, Judith Ifah confessed to being a witch and added that it was the result of the fruit juice which she accepted from one of her classmates. She said she told her mother the dream she had after taking the juice and her mother prayed for her. She revealed that the giver of the juice asked her to bring their baby to the coven and that was the cause of the baby’s death. She said that she ate the baby. She also revealed how she was advised to use a rope to tie her father to his bed and cause his health to deteriorate. All these feats would attract to her a second position in the witchcraft world.
In reaction, Prophet T.B. Joshua advised parents to bring up their children in the way of the Lord to have peace. The child in question was left in the hands of satan because of the parents’ carelessness. The prophet pronounced Judith a witch or demon possessed as presented by the parents.

He then asked the parents to lay hands on her and ask every unclean spirit to leave her. That was how Judith was delivered. The prophet however warned both parents not to call her a witch after the deliverances.

INTERNET VICTIM
A lady by name Memory, from Zimbabwe but living in South Africa confessed how she was hoodwinked promises of monetary offers on the internet. She was taught incantations which she mastered but none of the promises materialised. Instead, her marital home became bedevilled with problems to such an extent that she used the police to eject her husband from the home. She then pleaded with the man of God for deliverance. At the exclamation of the name, Jesus by one of the evangelists she fell down and was delivered.

ACCUSATION OF WITCHCRAFT

One Emmanuel Chijoke and his relations all of the Abraham family from Enugu complained about the problems of setback and deaths in their family attributing all this to their mother.
The genesis of the accusation was a crusade in Abuja at which one of Emmanuel’s cousins was a participant and where he was told by a man of God there that their mother was the brain behind all the woes in the family. The said man of God was then invited to Enugu where he confirmed his earlier vision that their mother was a witch and that only her head and shoulders was human; the chest down to the feet was vulture in appearance. Surprisingly to the family, their mother could not refute the accusation by the man of God. She complained that at that time, her eyes, ears and mouth were muffled and she could not talk.

She then challenged the family to take her to anywhere and they would realise that she is not a witch. This was the reason they came to the SCOAN.

In his verdict, the man of God pronounced the woman witchcraft negative and ordered the children to kneel down to her in apology.

FOOT ULCER HEALED
Before the prayer line, the participants of which were zoomed on the screen,

a lady, 20 year old Miss Sulman who was healed of foot ulcer came to give testimony and also made to show herself to those in the prayer line to reassure them of their healing.<img src=”http://thetbjoshuafanclub.files.wordpress.com/2010/10/10-10-10-g-4.jpg?w=200″ alt=”" title=”10-10-10 [G] (4)” width=”200″ height=”300″ class=”aligncenter size-medium wp-image-1990″ />

HIV AIDS TESTIMONIES
Three men and three women who were healed of HIV AIDS came to give their testimonies. Among them who spoke was 27 year old Mrs Motunrayo Sowemimo,
who was tested positive with Hiv aids type one in the Federal Ministry of Health, Abuja.

After the prayer line where she was declared free, she said she became stronger and ate with more relish.

She went back to the same hospital for another test but thanks to God, she was Hiv negative this time.

SCHOLARSHIP BENEFICIARIES
Miss Oduwole Olayinka, a youth worker in the church who came bagged 1st class (Electrical/Electronics), University of Lagos also got a scholarship award from the Church to do a Master degree in one of the best universities in the world. She consequently applied for admission and was offered same in three good universities in the United Kingdom. These were the Universities of Southampton, Edinburgh and that of Surrey.
She picked the University of Southampton as the best and the Church paid a total sum of £13,900 as her fees. Later and in consonance with the man of God’s crave for the best, the University College, London, offered her admission. Without hesitation, she changed her mind and picked the latest offer. A total sum of £18,245 was paid as fees for her to start classes on the 11th of October 2010.
The man of God seized the opportunity to advise the congregation to always look for the needy to help rather than waiting at home for the needy to come to them. In this way, according to the prophet, they would not be helping the wrong people.

On Sunday morning the 22nd of March 2010, people flocked to The Synagogue, Church Of All Nations, some came for healing at the prayerline, some came for the first time, others came to their usual seat being members of the renowned Church (whose service is broadcast live every week on their TV station, Emmanuel TV) to see the mighty power of God working in the Spirit.

The service began at 9am with worship and praise, cultivating an atmosphere of faith in the huge auditorium. At 10am sharp, Evangelist Evelyn Joshua (T.B. Joshua’s wife) came out to give a message titled, ‘Walking In His Grace’. She spoke boldly telling us that, “The peace of conscience we derive from walking with the Lord, produces internal joy.” And that, “Rebuilding us requires our attention, commitment, our desire and obedience to God’s Word.” She also reminded us that “No one can succeed alone”. After around 40 minutes of preaching Evangelist Evelyn concluded by saying, “As long as we keep walking in His grace we will not be without the Father, without the Helper”.

The choir picked up again, then T.B. Joshua himself came out. After commending the message, he brought out the new anointing water and from the crowd’s reaction – something they have all been waiting for. He brought out three packaged waters in different coloured containers, orange – for fruit of the womb, green – for healing and deliverance and purple for blessing and prosperity. He explained that God can use any medium to express Himself and described the anointing water as a means to set one apart for God’s attention. As he was talking a queue formed of those who had testimonies to share after using the anointing water.

Broken Bone

Broken Bone Healed

First up was Corporal Sugir Kabir Amos, from Anambra State, Nigeria who had broken both legs two years earlier in a motor accident. He explained that after the accident, he was operated on, twice – showing us photographs of when he was hospitalised and finally discharged with a walking frame.

We watched the video of him coming to The SCOAN with the same walking frame, slowly moving along with it, limiting him greatly. Next he was in the prayerline where Prophet T.B. Joshua prayed for him and administered the anointing water. One minute he was sitting pleading for healing, the next minute he was standing, then walking, rejoicing at God’s mighty power that healed him in moments. Jesus Christ continues to show Himself strong in the lives of those who put their trust in Him.

Next up were a couple Mr & Mrs Okorie from Ebonyi state, Nigeria. The lady had, had the problem of ovarian cyst and multiple fibroid. She explained that when she had told the doctors that she wanted to operate – they asked her ‘why now?’ She said because the cyst was so large that people always asked if she was pregnant. A painful question for a lady who had been told by doctors that due to her condition she was unable to conceive.

Healed of ovarian cyst and multiple fibroids

After moving back and forth from hospital to hospital and after being operated on and then referred. She got frustrated and gave up hope for medical assistance. Then she watched Emmanuel TV where she saw men and woman of different nationalities who once faced similar problems as herself, now standing with their new baby giving testimony after using the anointing water given to them by T.B. Joshua. She immediately set out for the following service day with one aim in mind – to get some of the anointing water for herself. She came and received the anointing water for the fruit of the womb. One week later, her check up was due at the hospital. To the doctor’s and her great surprise, the medical report showed that the large cyst and multiple fibroids were gone! Not only that but she was pregnant! God can surely use any means to reach the needs of His people. What is impossible to man, is possible for God Almighty who is the same yesterday, today and for ever.

Many other testimonies followed and due to the large crowd it became obvious that using such means as the anointing water many lives could benefit from the saving, healing and delivering grace within. God continues to use everything He’s created. A pamphlet also went round to explain the use of the anointing water.

After the faith building testimonies, T.B. Joshua moved directly to the prayerline where many sick people were waiting for prayer. Among them was Pastor Rowland Ekwerike who had come all the way from Indianapolis, USA. He had lost the ability to speak clearly – as a minister of the Gospel this posed a great obstacle. T.B. Joshua poured the anointing water into his mouth and moments later he began preaching powerfully to the congregation! Just as Jesus Christ used Paul and anything that came into contact with him – to heal all manners of sicknesses and diseases. As it was, so it is. Jesus’ power is not stopped just because He is no longer visibly in our midst. His power and effectiveness are even greater today because He can be present in all places at all times by His Spirit.

After the prayerline there was a mass prayer session where more people were healed and set free both inside and outside of the auditorium where an over flow crowd was gathered.

The first service came to a close at 2.30pm and the second service soon followed where many prophecies and more instant testimonies were given. After this for those who remained, T.B. Joshua distributed the new anointing water. Some even at the mere receiving of the carton began to shake, roll and manifest – God chooses grace rather than works. He does as He wills and can use any medium to express Himself. Blessed, refreshed and made new was the mood that people left the auditorium satisfied and confident that as Christians, no matter the situation, Jesus Christ can see them through, after having so many cases to strengthen their faith. God keeps giving us reasons to praise His Holy name. Keep watching Emmanuel TV for rebroadcasts of the service as T.B. Joshua says, “Better is not good enough; the best is yet to come!”

Humility simply means total dependence on God for everything…

On the heels of the recent controversy sparked by insinuations that Nigerian Pastor TB Joshua had claimed glory for the Black Satellites World Cup victory through his prophetic insight to Coach Sellas Tetteh, a similar event seems to have thrown a spanner in the works of the pastors critics…

A mere fortnight after the Satellite debate was at its hottest, revelations have emerged how coach of the current Nigerian U-17 Team, John Obuh, also received prophetic insight from T.B. Joshua concerning the Golden Eaglets last match with Argentina in the ongoing FIFA U-17 World Cup. Prophet Joshua also debunked the allegations of claiming glory for the Satellites triumph, referring to such statements as blasphemous and uncalled for.

On Sunday 4th November, a recorded conversation between the Nigerian cleric and Eaglets coach John Obuh was played back to The SCOAN congregation, an event broadcast live to the world via Emmanuel TV. Obuh was said to have called Joshua on Thursday, the day before the Argentine match on Friday.

“I told you in under 2 to 5 minutes they will score,” Joshua was heard telling the coach. “I want to assure you – your people are going home one ahead. That is the promise of God. But for five minutes they will be very dangerous – let us mark our home. 15 minutes to go will be for us – we must make use of it.” Coach Obuh told Joshua he had already informed the players of the prophecy. Another conversation was then played between Joshua and the Eaglets assistant coach Abimbola Samuel in which he told him in a local Nigerian dialect, “Your boys will work a penalty when it is 15 minutes to go…”

Prophet T.B. Joshua

As events would have it, the match followed in the footprints of the revelation, Argentina scoring in the first two minutes, Nigeria winning a penalty in the last 15 and eventually winning by one goal to top their group and advance convincingly to the knock-out stages.

Speaking to the enthralled congregants, Joshua clearly defined the role of a prophet in such scenario, demystifying the rumour that he was attempting to ascribe glory to himself. “I cannot help anyone to win any match – I am just a servant,” he carefully explained. “A prophet is to tell God’s opinion. It’s a blasphemy, sin against Holy Spirit if you say a prophet is the one who helped someone win a match. I am a gentle donkey. I am just a donkey Jesus is riding on. If somebody drops beautiful clothes, attires on the floor for the donkey to march on, it is not the donkey they dropped the attire on the floor for, but the One on top.”

He further explained how the opinion of God can guide the team concerned, but the prophet who delivers such message has no say whatsoever in the matter. “There is nothing I can do – I am just a servant. I cannot touch it, I cannot alter it. It is God that can alter anything. A prophet doesn’t make a team win – a prophet only tells you the mind of God. When we know God’s opinion, it will help us to guard against mistake and error…”

The storm that erupted in Ghana over the Satellites Saga seems not to have deterred or discouraged the Nigerian pastor, who is widely known as one of the most persecuted pastors in Africa. Using his own life experience, he encouraged the viewers and those present that they must pass through both schools of persecution and praise as part of the necessary preparation for the journey ahead. “I feel strong in challenges, believing that personal improvement and fulfilment come through the continual process of learning from both negative and positive experiences,” he explained.

Recalling the words of his late mother that have been a source of inspiration for him, Joshua lyrically expounded, “When times are stable, and the sea is calm and secure, no one is really tested.” “People will challenge you, question you, try to get you off track,” he bluntly told the audience. “Don’t listen to the temptation to act out of character.”

On the presumption that such precise prophetic revelations can be dished out according to his own will, Joshua made it clear that the God of all nations who reveals such mysteries shows no partiality, attending equally to all who come to Him in humility and sincerity. “A prophet is a prophet to all nations irrespective of where he is from, and God is the Father of all – and He treats His children equally. For those who come to Him in humility, He opens His heart – and if you receive a prophet because he is a prophet, you receive a prophet’s reward…”

On the reason for the seemingly sudden burst of prophetic revelations about football, the pastor explained it is simply part of God’s mission to save souls, especially those of young people. “God wants to win the souls of young people – and young people today are into games such as football,” he clarified. “If they now see God’s hand in their midst, they will begin to believe God. It’s a game that unites other religions and Christians, even pagans – everyone unites when it is time of the game.”

Speaking on the qualities of true ministers of God, Joshua pointed to the importance of contentment, saying it is the lack of contentment that often causes people to engage in petty and unnecessary criticism of others. “When you are content – you will not compare yourself to others, you will not stand and begin to accuse your fellow brother or pray to rebuke and destroy them… The principle of a contented man is ‘Love your neighbour as yourself.’ ” Instead of criticising from afar, men of God should do what is good to change the bad they see, Joshua admonished.

The same service also witnessed the testimony of an armed robber who had come to the church last week armed with a gun, and the presentation of a brand new Mercedez car to a physically challenged man who had been begging for food with his three children for many months, his electrical shop having burned down a week after his wife tragically died. The reformed robber was supported with N200,000 while the physically challenged man had earlier been given N330,300, all part of Joshua’s extensive charitable activities.

Africa News reports how Ambassador John Fashanu publically testified to the prophetic gift of God in the life of T.B. Joshua…

On the heels of Africa’s first ever World Cup triumph at the U20 level, controversy has marred Ghanaian celebrations. The center of debate is T.B. Joshua, a Nigerian pastor said to have called Coach Sellas Tetteh before and during the final match to issue prophetic insights and instructions that proved influential to the Satellites historic success…

Ghanaian media has run agog with stories of Nigerian Pastor T.B. Joshua’s purported conversations with Black Satellites coach Sellas Tetteh, during which he is said to have accurately predicted precise details regarding their final match against Brazil. The famed pastor of The Synagogue, Church Of All Nations in Lagos, known for his extensive charitable works and prophetic revelations, told Tetteh that the game would end goalless, penalties would determine the outcome, further saying Captain Dede Ayew should be the first player to take a penalty for victory to be ensured.

Pastor T.B. Joshua

Pastor T.B. Joshua

Amidst doubts as to the legitimacy of such uncanny prophecy, Coach Tetteh confirmed he had been in contact with Pastor Joshua, the man also said to be the spiritual adviser of Ghanaian President John Atta Mills. “Before God and man I was in constant touch with Pastor Joshua – and all the predictions he made were realised,” said Tetteh on Ghanaian radio station Peace FM. “He told me we would win the trophy before the tournament and on the day of the game he again predicted it. To be honest with you and in the name of God, he even predicted the red card booking by the referee to our player (Daniel Addo) and subsequently warned us of the tough times that will befall in the hands of the Brazilians… At a point in time he even directed before the penalty shootout that the player in 10 jersey (Dede Ayew) should be elected to effect the first kick… “

The Black Satellites won the World Under-20 trophy last Friday, October 16 after a goalless game saw a tense and dramatic penalty shootout determine the winner. Dede Ayew taking the first spot kick for Ghana, the Satellites eventually won 4-3, sending Ghanaians and indeed Africans worldwide into wild celebrations. Since the revelation of Joshua’s involvement came to public attention however, it has elicited a storm of debate as to the role of spirituality in sport, as well as the significance of the part Joshua played in the Satellites accomplishment. Adding to the furore is the fact that President Mills had publically testified to Joshua’s prophetic gift days after his inauguration in January, saying that Joshua had accurately predicted specific details of his three-round election victory.

Ambassador John Fashanu

Ambassador John Fashanu

In a similar occurrence, Nigerian Ambassador of Sports and Tourism, television personality and former soccer star, John Fashanu, has added credence to Tetteh’s testimony by confirming T.B. Joshua also predicted the outcome of the Super Eagles qualifying encounter with Mozambique to him personally. “I called the man of God and said, “Man of God, what do you think?” He called back a few days later and told me, “Ambassador, Nigeria are going to win by one goal”. I was delighted. I went back and I told the players and the other special advisors,” he said, testifying to a packed auditorium at The Synagogue, Church Of All Nations on Sunday 18th October.

‘Fash’ further explained how Joshua even called him during the tense match which remained goalless until the 92nd minute when Obinna Nsofor headed home the winner for Nigeria. “5 minutes to the end of the game – and I’m sorry to say, I’d almost given up hope,” he confessed. “I thought, ‘This is it. We’re finished’. Number 1, we’re out of the job. Number 2, we’re out of the World Cup – and a World Cup in Africa without Nigeria is a disaster. 3 minutes to go and my phone rang. I picked up the phone and it was the unmistakeable number of the man of God. This was not the call I wanted to take because I thought he was going to say, ‘Sorry Ambassador, I’ve made a mistake’. As I was on the phone, he was telling me, ‘Goal!’ “

Moments later, Nsofor’s last-gasp goal rekindled Nigerian hopes of qualifying for the FIFA World Cup in South Africa. “I have never experienced anything like this in my life”, remarked Fashanu, adding, “I come from the UK – where the impossible is the impossible. We are now in a realm where the impossible is possible and God has used the man of God to make it so.”

The Nigerian pastor is not new to controversy, but remains resolute in attributing the glory to God for such predictions. “There is no way I will come out and say who will win,” explained Joshua when asked about his conversations with Tetteh. “But what I can do, as a man of God, is to seek the mind of God concerning the situation and interpret the mind of God correctly without removing or adding anything. That is the work of prophets – to deliver God’s message as you receive it,” he said, explaining that he is a mere mouthpiece and messenger of God, adding that he has done nothing to bring such prophecy to pass and thus boasting was uncalled for.

“My advice to our sports teams, not only footballers, it to play the game as if everything depends on us and pray as if everything depends on God,” he said.

“All these things are not brought to pass by anything done by me. Therefore, all boasting is excluded.” TB Joshua…

In an interview with The Spectator of Nigeria, TB Joshua has played down his role in the Satellites historic World Cup victory last week, explaining he is a mere mouthpiece and the glory belongs to God alone. Interestingly, his comments are reputed to have been made on Sunday, before the controversy exploded throughout Ghana in which claims were made the Nigerian Pastor ascribed the glory to himself.

TB Joshua - We are who, where and what we are by grace. Let no man boast.

TB Joshua - We are who, where and what we are by grace. Let no man boast.

“The coach called me in the morning of the battle in Egypt and said I should join them in prayers,” Joshua told The Spectator. “I considered this as a great honour because there are many great men of God in Ghana that had also been standing in the gap for the team. And I was one of these called to join in prayer for the team. There are great men of God in Ghana. We are all prayer warriors.”

Prophet Joshua would not want anyone to ascribe any power to him over his reported intervention during the match against Brazil. “The secret is that there is no way I will come out and say we will win. But what I can do, as a man of God, is to seek the mind of God concerning any situation and interpret the mind of God correctly without removing or adding anything. That is the work of prophets – to deliver God’s message as you receive it,” he said, painting a different picture to the publicity-mongering image portrayed by some Ghanaian media-houses.

Proceeding to advise others in the sporting world, Joshua said: “My advice to our sports teams, not only footballers, it to play the game as if everything depends on us and pray as if everything depends on God.”

The news of Pastor TB Joshua’s involvement in the Black Satellites World Cup victory continues to evoke a series of reactions…

The recent revelations of TB Joshua’s prophetic insight and instruction to Coach Sellas Tetteh regarding the Black Satellite’s historic World Cup triumph have ignited a surprising storm of criticism, the news spreading like a proverbial fire across the nation with frenzied argument and dispute arising in its wake. A glance through the flood of heated responses posted on various online news sites seems to paint a unanimous picture, pointing to a profound principle: “What people don’t understand, they criticise.”

Firstly, I think it is imperative to state that if you do not have a thorough knowledge of the ministry and antecedents of Pastor TB Joshua, it would be almost impossible to absorb or appreciate the uncanny accuracy of this prophetic revelation. From a purely rational angle based on worldly experience and exposure, it sounds either farcical, fraudulent or fabled. However, this sort of supernatural scenario and the ensuing controversy is not new to the Nigerian Pastor. From the onset of his ministry, he has persistently stepped out of the crowd and achieved unique feats that were consistently met with misjudgement and argument by some, as well as adulation and acclamation by others – just as it was in the time of Jesus Christ (John 7:12).

The common thread of questions that seem to throng Ghanaian minds in the light of this disclosure are: Why didn’t Pastor Joshua choose help his own nation Nigeria who were disgraced in Egypt? What is his motive for unveiling such clips to the world? What on earth is he doing recording his phone call with Tetteh? What is God’s interest in football? Some have also impertinently made untold demands of his prophetic gifting, as if it were a mere button you press to obtain instantaneous result.

I would like to address these points to the best of my ability. To begin with, prophecy does not originate or proceed from the will of any mortal man, nor is it the product of any reasoning factors or faculties (2 Peter 1:21). According to dictionary definitions, prophecy is an inspired declaration of divine will and purpose, foreknowledge of presently hidden things which cannot be known by the natural light of reason, the foretelling of the future through a direct revelation from God. It’s not magic; it’s not predetermined, nor is it something to be dished out according to individual will or wish. The prophet is not the instigator or the focus of a prophecy – he is simply a mouthpiece of God, a communicator between the visible and invisible.

Prophet TB Joshua - All these things are not brought to pass by anything done by me. Therefore, all boasting is excluded.

Prophet TB Joshua - All these things are not brought to pass by anything done by me. Therefore, all boasting is excluded.

TB Joshua’s prophetic ministry did not begin last Friday in his discussion with Coach Tetteh. There have been numerous and verifiable records of his predictions coming to pass pertaining events of both national and international relevance. These include the death of iconic pop legend, Michael Jackson, the release of Ingrid Betancourt from the Colombian jungles, the recent plane crash in New York, amongst countless others. On the football front, he has accurately predicted the outcome of the last two Super Eagles qualifiers between Tunisia and Mozambique. Aside, each Sunday Service at The SCOAN unveils the remarkable prophetic gifting ministered by the Prophet to individuals who attend his church, with Joshua uncannily telling them intricate and accurate details about their lives, the solution furthermore provided. For those in doubt, his services are broadcast live on Emmanuel TV – raw, real and radical.

In respect of the recording, any viewer of Emmanuel TV would know that Prophet Joshua is a meticulous and emphatic keeper of records. I was astounded upon viewing clips of his early life and ministry in a documentary titled, ‘My Testimony’. When an unknown and unkempt Joshua started his Synagogue with a mere 8 members, he called a cameraman and asked him to record it. Every single step of his ministry has record – down to when his church was destroyed thrice by the elements. From a logical viewpoint, it seems ludicrous, but it was inspired by the vision that one day people would see the record and glorify God for the extraordinary journey He has taken His servant on. The same vision that propelled Joshua to record his humble beginnings also prompted him to record his telephone conversations with Tetteh, for the same purpose of glorifying God and teaching the masses a vital and valuable lesson in faith and obedience. Joshua saw the vision and had such courage and confidence in its validity, for God had not failed him in times-past. Besides, if the record was not there – the same people criticising today would be liable to doubt, demanding for the evidence.

The Black Satellites in wild celebration...

The Black Satellites in wild celebration...

As for Joshua’s motive, the answer correlates to the question of why the prophetic message involved football. Football is a proven powerful and practical force that unites people across age, faith, race and creed. The potential for people to submit their lives to Christ as a result of this prophecy is enormous – and without seeing, our generation without faith and hope would simply not believe, hence the need to unveil this record to the world. God’s glory is paramount and forefront, not the messenger He chose to use in this particular instance. The notion of Joshua taking the glory for the Satellites victory is ridiculous. We all know the brilliance and resilience of our boys that saw them through the entirety of their games in Egypt to the trophy.

Now to the role of Ghanaian media, headlines such as ‘SCANDAL: Tetteh confirms pastor made Ghana U20 team selection’ are uncalled for and unrepresentative of what truly occurred. Both Joshua and Tetteh’s roles and words are being distorted by media who want to unnecessarily hype up the scenario. Coach Tetteh sought to know the opinion of God concerning the final, knowing that God’s opinion can guard and guide them against error and mistake. Upon hearing from God, Joshua revealed to him that no goal would be scored, penalties would determine the outcome and Dede Ayew should take the first penalty kick. Simple. This does not in any way undermine the Satellites skill and stamina, nor does it take away from Tetteh’s coaching abilities and instincts. It only emphasizes the importance of God in all facets of life, a revelation the Ghanaian president John Atta Mills can also testify to. In his own case, he sought the mind of God before election time, and Joshua told him there would be three elections and the results would be announced in January. Both individuals sought to know the mind of God from His servant, it was revealed – and they came to pass, to the glory of God and the good of Ghana. In any case, anyone watching the final cannot deny God’s involvement – the higher hand seeming to guard the Ghanaian posts and frustrate every Brazilian attempt on goal, even against 10-man Ghana.

I would advise all still doubting to watch Joshua’s television station: Emmanuel TV and judge for yourself. To the blind critics, consider the words of a wise man: “Leave these men alone! Let them go! For if their purpose or activity is of human origin, it will fail. But if it is from God, you will not be able to stop these men; you will only find yourselves fighting against God.” (Acts 5:38-39)

After the victory, the Ghanaian coach was full of praises for Prophet T. B. Joshua for standing by his team. When asked if the Super Eagles of Nigeria will qualify for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa next year, Prophet Joshua has this to say: “Super Eagles will qualify if they play the game as if it all depends on them and pray as if it depends on God.”

Another powerful confirmation that we serve an all knowing God…

Synagogue General Overseer Speaks On Consultations With President Mills, Coach Tetteh

With the whole of Africa still celebrating Ghana’s historic feat at the recently concluded FIFA U-20 World Cup in Egypt, the man singled out as the brain behind the success by the country’s President, Prophet T.B. Joshua of the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN) has revealed his own side of the story.

TB Joshua With Atta Mills

TB Joshua With Atta Mills

Prophet Joshua divulged to Complete Sports in an exclusive interview at the church premises on Saturday, that Ghana’s President, Professor Attah Mills and Black Satellites coach, Sellas Tetteh were constantly in touch with him on Friday morning (match day), for prayers and counseling.

According to him, “Mr. President and the coach were constantly in touch with me on the morning of the match. We talked severally before, during and after the match. I told them that they should remain focused on the task ahead of them with a special warning that they should not hustle to score a goal in the regulation time. I warned that if they should look for goals, they will end up losing the game.

“They called me again at half time and I repeated the same thing. This time around, I specifically told them to rush things as the match will be settled after extra time. That means after 15 minutes of two halves.

“When the penalty kicks were about to start, they called me again to ask how it will go. I just told the coach that, he should allow his number ten (Andre Ayew) to take the first kick and they will end up winning the game.

“They took to my advice and everything went favorably well at the end of the day, and we are all celebrating this great feat by our African brothers.”

It would be recalled that the revered man of God had predicted correctly, matches involving the Super Eagles recently. On the list are the matches between Ghana and Nigeria at the Nations Cup in 2008, Nigeria versus Tunisia and last Sunday’s crunch tie between the Super Eagles and Mambas of Mozambique.
