After a powerful prayer line where people were disconnected from any demonic influence in their lives, Prophet T.B. Joshua entered the teeming cathedral and gave an enlightening sermon titled, ‘A True Prophet’. Asking how one will tell who is a true prophet or a false prophet and using the book of 1 John 4:1, he said the one having a divine spirit that comes from above is meek, peaceable and humble, and refrains from all impurities of this world. He said that the spirit speaks only when God wishes it to speak whereas others are always ready to pray. He added people generally have the wrong impression that healing, miracles, the spirit of prophecy and all of God’s blessings are wrought at the will of the person concerned. This is why people easily feel a prophet should be able to pray anytime, not minding whether it is the right time or not. A true prophet however will not pray without spirit intimation. He explained that without direction from the Spirit, if they give, they give of themselves; they prophesy of themselves; that is why there are prophecies without accomplishment; healings without results.

In a tribute to his late mother, Prophet T.B. Joshua said that she had advised him that when he did not seem to receive from God, he should look into his love walk as the Bible in Mark 12:31 says we should love our neighbour as ourselves. He explained that when the hour of her departure came, he had sent for her and she was with him for a day and they discussed. He said he did not know how to relate to her the message that he had received from God because it was news that no one wants to hear. However, he had learned from reading the Bible that the issue of departure can be delayed by prayer or by waiting in faith (Isaiah 38:4; Luke 7:2). He told his mother that no matter how upright we are, we still need to rededicate ourselves. He explained how he told her, “Everyone has been tempted; I have been tempted; you have been tempted and we will continue to be challenged by issues that violate our conscience. We all face the temptation to do the wrong thing but there is a way – Jesus is the Way”. He said that when we give our lives to Jesus and make Him our boss, CEO and Director in all we do, we are under His supervision to do all.

He added that although his brothers and sisters had wanted to help their dear mother medically, her departure could not be delayed by human sympathy; he told her to be in an attitude of prayer. He said that, “When it is time for man’s departure, nothing can delay it except waiting in faith or through prayer”. The man of God added that we have read about many Biblical characters whose departure was delayed. Hezekiah was rich and favoured and when he cried out to God, God answered him in Isaiah 38:4 “I have heard your prayer and I have seen your tears, surely I will add to your days, 15 years.” The prophet explained that unchangeable means, what will happen will still happen.

He referred to the late President of Ghana, Professor John Evans Atta Mills, saying that, “My dear father President Atta Mills – if there is anyone that would want the late president to spend 200 years on this earth, I am number one.”

He recalled a phone call he had made to the late president a month and a week ago in which he described a vision that he had seen of cloud covering his apartment. He told him that he should be prayerful because he had seen his body being transfigured to a celestial realm. He had also advised the president who was planning to travel to the USA to be prayerful because of the vision. Speaking to the congregation, the man of God said, “When clouds come down to pick you up, it is a hero’s welcome.”

The man of God had also told the president that his coming 68th birthday should be dedicated to God through fasting and prayer. He explained that the birthday was not celebrated on Emmanuel TV because there was no way you could wish Happy Birthday without saying, “Long life’.

Speaking on why he had not travelled to Ghana for the last three years, the prophet said that he could not go anywhere without first hearing from God. He added that he would love to be there anytime he heard from God, especially because, according to him, Ghana was his second home.  Still speaking on the departure of the late Ghanaian President, Professor John Evans Atta Mills, he said that he knew where he was going, adding “Let your soul admire where he is and pray to be there one day.” He emphasised, “It is a wonderful grace to know where you are going. You need not fear where you are going when you know Jesus is going with you.”

He ended his message saying that a pastor leads best when his people get behind him.

NATIVE ENERGY CRUSHED BY GOD’S POWER

When Mr Oba Yabrifa Ebiundu (a witch doctor) was encountered by the prophet during the previous Monday service, his true identity was revealed through a word of prophecy. The man of God told him that he was a witch doctor with powers and energy that he used even to cause and stop rain. He immediately confirmed the prophet’s words and his wife added that the small demons appeared to her and attacked her when they were coming to The SCOAN. After the video of the prophecy, footage of Yabrifa in his community shrine as a Chief Priest and villagers worshipping him was played.

Mr Yabrifa accompanied by his wife and son then came into the service to tell his story. He introduced himself as a witch doctor and chief priest who was the father of every colour who served the ‘god of justice’. He explained that he was the custodian of the deity which was an inheritance from his grandfather. He said that from when he was a small child, he would go to the river to catch fish for his mother and preferred spending time in the river than going to school or staying at home. Initially wanting to reject the inheritance of the chief priest, he tried to do a security job but the deity appeared to his employers in the form of his father and warned them to release him because he was a royal chief priest.

Then, on one fateful day during a local festival, Mr Yabrifa physically felt a force enter him, eventually leading him to a river where he stayed in the depths of the water for several hours. The next moment Mr Yabrifa realised that he was in the centre of the diabolic shrine, being crowned as chief priest.

He was taught how to make charms for people but despite his ‘native energy’, he knew that something was disturbing him. Although people flocked from far and wide to pay homage to him and partake in the native ceremonies where hard liquor was poured and animals sacrificed, Mr Yabrifa remained in poverty while the demons regularly attacked his family members. He explained how when pastors came and held crusades next to his shrine, praying against the idols he worshipped, he would be provoked and invoke rain to come and stop their crusade. He further said that the deity never allowed him to shake anyone’s hand as his hand was reserved for feeding the deity alone. He also never bowed for anyone or removed his cap or shoes as the deity always told him that he was to be worshipped and was above everyone else.   Referring to his son, he said that he also had native powers and was his second in command.

Mr Yabrifa explained that he kept warning his wife to stop watching Emmanuel TV because of the deliverances God used T.B. Joshua and the wise men to do were beyond his own native power. Eventually forced to come to The SCOAN because of his poverty and wretched life as a smoker, drunkard and womanizer, Mr Yabrifa never thought that he would be discovered. After the prophecy, he explained that he had had a dream in which Prophet T.B. Joshua followed him to his village and helped him set the idols ablaze and deliver the community. Upon listening to Mr Yabrifa, Prophet T.B. Joshua spoke on the need of his followers also coming to The SCOAN for their own deliverance.

THE ARENA OF LIBERTY!

The prophet led the congregation and viewers in a powerful time of prayer, saying, “I can see you being delivered, healed. You yoke, bondage, I command you to be loosed in Jesus’ name”. Truly, the people were disconnected from every demonic activity as they agreed with T.B. Joshua and prayed along in faith. After the prayer, the man of God moved through the entire auditorium giving words of prophecy and counselling to the people as intimated by the Spirit of God. In the second service, the auditorium was full to the brim with more people awaiting their freedom and the wise men using the authority in the name of Jesus continued to command any evil spirit to leave the people. We thank God for setting his people free in the arena of liberty.

The much awaited message from Prophet T.B. Joshua on 29th July 2012 was titled, The Highway To Heaven and was dedicated to the late Professor John Evans Atta Mills, President of Ghana.ImageThe prophet said, “To get to Heaven, you must follow the way of the Cross. The Highway to Heaven starts on this side of death and the entrance is very easy to find”. The Bible says, “Whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved” (Romans 10:13). He said, “Paul the Apostle declared that the road to Heaven is not difficult to find or to access. Are you on the right road?” The road is right in your front; it is in the Word of God, he assured.

The prophet said, “The Lord speaks to us through His Word by His Spirit, and Jesus said, ‘I am the Way, the Truth and the Life and no one cometh to the Father except through me’ ” (John 14:6).

He revealed that Jesus Christ died for our sins and broke the power of death by resurrection.

“You need not fear where you are going when you know Jesus is going with you”, the prophet insisted, noting that “Death is not a period, it is only a comma”. This is because of the death of Christ and the resurrection.

He stated that, “We who put our faith in Him, death is not a period but a comma”. “We need to be sure we are ready to depart” he said, stating that, “If you are prepared to die, you are prepared to live.

The prophet said that “Whether you are young or old, what matters is the grace to continue living hereafter. A man may die young, yet be satisfied with living; but a wicked man is not satisfied even with long life”, he revealed, stressing that “Continuing to trust Jesus is the only way to get the things you are not ready for”.

He mentioned that he was not mourning the late President Atta Mills but was celebrating his wonderful life, saying, “I thank God for a life well spent”.

He narrated his first visit to Ghana during a crusade where he met the late President Atta Mills who at the time was the vice president of former president Jerry Rawlings.

“We prayed together and then came the revelation and I told him, ‘You will be a president of this country one day.’ He said, ‘No I am going back to the classroom, I am a professor, a lecturer’. Truly, he went back to the classroom as a lecturer. After some years, I received a phone call from him telling me, ‘I was called to contest as a presidential candidate of a party’. I replied, ‘Remember what I told you’.

He came to The SCOAN and I told him, ‘Your journey – I see three contests, 1st lose, 2nd lose, then you can think of winning to become president’. He said, ‘A losing candidate, 1st time, 2nd time, will people believe such a candidate?’ I said, ‘Let the will of God be done’. With God, all things are possible; this is the voice of God. The relationship was purely based on revelation. When your relationship is based purely on revelation of God, nothing and nothing can break it.”

The Last Hurdle That Saw Him To The Throne

The man of God explained how Atta Mills accepted the revelation and began to believe that he could contest as a presidential candidate. When Atta Mills was running for the third time, the prophet received a phone call from him from South Africa in which he stated that he was booked for an operation.

The prophet prayed over it. After praying, he gave him a call. ‘You said operation. You had a dream some time ago; in that dream, someone was leading you, holding your hand as a guide to show you the way. Does that mean somebody will be holding your hand anywhere you go?’ He replied, ‘Yes, I had such a dream in Canada that I was blind and someone held my hand and was guiding me where to go.’ I said, ‘If you attempt the operation, this is what is going to happen. My brother, don’t try the operation’. He said, ‘Pastor, I would like to attempt one eye first. If it does not work, I will stop it.’ Our dear father went for an operation on one eye. On coming out of the operation, the eye could not work and had also affected the ear. So, he called me, ‘Man of God, I am coming straight to Nigeria.’ That was where the first news was carried that our dear father had died. While the news was everywhere in those days, our father was with me here. When our father arrived at the airport in Nigeria, the first words that came from him were, ‘I will no longer contest; I want to drop the ambition’. I replied, ‘The Lord says you will get there. You can’t change God’s Word’.

The relationship was not just an introduction but purely divine. The man of God spoke of how Atta Mills spent 10 days with him at The SCOAN. ‘We started praying together and the Lord restored the ears and the other eye that had not been operated on. Our father went back to Ghana and started campaigning. The ambition continued. If God used His servant at that period, what do you think that servant cannot do to carry on?

After the election results were out and Atta Mills was inaugurated as President of Ghana, T.B. Joshua explained how he had received another revelation about his journey. ‘The prophecy I received from God was the same prophecy I used that day as a prayer point. I asked God to give him the spirit of a finisher. The second prayer point God gave me was, ‘God, give us the grace to complete the job that we started’. At that moment of celebration, there was nothing that called for that kind of prayer point. I began to see an unchangeable event.

‘He was a promised child being led by revelation’, the prophet told the congregation and viewers. The prophet said that it was not sickness or disease that killed him but it was God’s time. He prayed for the family of the late President and the nation, Ghana and said, ‘Our father is a martyr – the legacy he left behind – an unexplainable unity among political class, that is what our father fought for and won’.

In remembrance of Atta Mills, T.B. Joshua said, ‘What a good man – very modest in his leadership. Africa, we are not mature enough for this kind of leadership. He was a good man but a good man cannot succeed alone.’

Another powerful confirmation that we serve an all knowing God…

Synagogue General Overseer Speaks On Consultations With President Mills, Coach Tetteh

With the whole of Africa still celebrating Ghana’s historic feat at the recently concluded FIFA U-20 World Cup in Egypt, the man singled out as the brain behind the success by the country’s President, Prophet T.B. Joshua of the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN) has revealed his own side of the story.

TB Joshua With Atta Mills

TB Joshua With Atta Mills

Prophet Joshua divulged to Complete Sports in an exclusive interview at the church premises on Saturday, that Ghana’s President, Professor Attah Mills and Black Satellites coach, Sellas Tetteh were constantly in touch with him on Friday morning (match day), for prayers and counseling.

According to him, “Mr. President and the coach were constantly in touch with me on the morning of the match. We talked severally before, during and after the match. I told them that they should remain focused on the task ahead of them with a special warning that they should not hustle to score a goal in the regulation time. I warned that if they should look for goals, they will end up losing the game.

“They called me again at half time and I repeated the same thing. This time around, I specifically told them to rush things as the match will be settled after extra time. That means after 15 minutes of two halves.

“When the penalty kicks were about to start, they called me again to ask how it will go. I just told the coach that, he should allow his number ten (Andre Ayew) to take the first kick and they will end up winning the game.

“They took to my advice and everything went favorably well at the end of the day, and we are all celebrating this great feat by our African brothers.”

It would be recalled that the revered man of God had predicted correctly, matches involving the Super Eagles recently. On the list are the matches between Ghana and Nigeria at the Nations Cup in 2008, Nigeria versus Tunisia and last Sunday’s crunch tie between the Super Eagles and Mambas of Mozambique.

Incredible! The role TB Joshua played in Ghana’s historic U-20 World Cup Victory!! As reported in today’s edition of Complete Sports, Nigeria’s leading sports daily…

Ghana President, Professor John Evans Atta Mills was full of thanks to Nigeria for their prayers and support, which he said ensured the Black Satellites won Africa’s first title in the U-20 category following a pulsating penalty shoot-out victory over Brazil yesterday, which threw the whole of Ghana into frenzy.

President Mills revealed that he had contacted Prophet TB Joshua to intensify prayers for the team after he was alerted about how several predictions of The Synagogue General Overseer on Super Eagles’ World Cup Qualifiers came to pass lately.

Our source revealed that the Ghana U-20 coach, Sellas Tetteh had also made a nocturnal visit to Nigeria to meet the prophet, and was told that Ghana will win the match on penalties, provided the coach allow Andre Dede Ayew to take the first kick – which eventually came to pass.

“It gives me great joy to rejoice with Ghana and indeed Africa for this win. I was on line to Nigeria asking for prayers from the man of God to help our team, and I was assured that we will win on penalties. May God bless Nigeria for their support,” he said.

“I was told what the man of God said; which revealed that we will win on penalties – and thank God it has come to pass,” the president revealed.

An article on the popular ‘My Joy Online’ website concerning the relationship between TB Joshua and the President of Ghana, Prof John Evans Atta Mills, as recently mentioned by the former Ghanaian leader, Jerry Rawlings.

Media in Ghana has run agog with the recent ‘Rawlings ranting’ against Prof Mills, one of the invectives hurled at the president referring to the uncanny intimacy of his relationship with the renowned Nigerian prophet, TB Joshua. Rawlings is said to have angrily advised some of his party members to refer their complaints to the ‘man who sits at the Castle and listens to T.B. Joshua alone’, insinuating that Mills is a closed book when it comes to his advice on national issues.

Jerry Rawlings

Jerry Rawlings

Despite the obvious irony, I believe a perusal of these words highlights a positive perception of the president, considering the fact that many had doomed him as easy prey to the puppeteering antics of his former boss. The consensus of many an analyst before his assumption to office was that Mills would act as the mouth and Rawlings the mind if NDC were to regain power, a prognosis that alarmed many. Thankfully, Prof seems to be standing his ground, thoroughly infuriating JJ in the process.

Thus, the recent tirade, distastefully smothered in attempted bullying tactics, clearly expresses Rawlings’ aggravation at failing to have his way. Mills appears more independent minded than initially assumed, unmoved by the towering demeanour of his outspoken ‘godfather’. Jerry is angry that his ‘boy’ is not jumping to his bark in the manner he had anticipated when fronting him for the NDC presidential candidature. Unable to surreptitiously enforce his schemes behind doors, he has decided to publically vent his frustration in the hope that creating a sense of disunity and restlessness within party ranks might sway Mills to hearken to his whims. He even went to the extent of saying the Atta Mills-led government lacks the “revolutionary spirit to govern the country”, describing the president as “dull” and “slow”.

Prof John Atta Mills, President of Ghana

Though Mills apparent slowness in instigating promised reform has irritated some members of the public who cry incessantly for immediate change, a feat of obvious impossibility within such short time confines, I believe his refusal to be dictated to by Rawlings’ manipulative tactics is indicative of the clearness of vision and strength of character necessary to steer the Ghanaian ship forward to her promised land. While not a man of vibrant charisma or polished looks, history has shown character and principle tend to mould more lasting legacies than gift and external endowments. With focussed action, personal discipline and Ghanaian’s support, I believe his will be a case of ‘slowly but surely’. I once heard a wise man say, “Your exit will be remembered longer than your entry” – a poignant word all swift critics (JJ inclusive) need to consider. The test of time will tell.

Pertaining Mills perceived over-reliance on Nigerian Pastor TB Joshua, it would also be too early to arrive at judgement. But if Joshua’s reputation for large-heartedness and concern for the welfare of the less privileged influence Mill’s decisions in governance, I can only assume a positive outcome. After all, TB Joshua’s words at Mills thanksgiving service at his famed Synagogue, Church of All Nations, were not with subtle political undertones but rather that of exhortation to Mills to support charitable organisations that spend ‘less on themselves and more on others’.

Prophet TB Joshua - Your exit will be remembered longer than your entry

Prophet TB Joshua - Your exit will be remembered longer than your entry

Judging by what is shown on his television station Emmanuel TV, I don’t believe the Nigerian prophet is snidely attempting to use this exalted relationship for personal gain and fame. He doesn’t appear the money-mongering type who lavishly hops from country to country in private jets and hummer jeeps. In fact, if the consistency of accuracy in his prophetic revelations is anything to go by, as attested to by Mills himself, Ghanaians should be thankful that their president will have advice from the spiritual perspective. In our age of decadence, God’s opinion is surely a worthwhile asset.

An article in the Ghanaian Chronicle, chronicling the various heads of state who are part of the incredible SCOAN story, and have received a touch of God through Pastor T.B. Joshua…

Prophet Temitope B. Joshua, Head Pastor of the Synagogue Church of All Nations, with its headquarters in Nigeria, has stated that Ghana’s President, His Excellency Prof. John Evans Atta Mills, is not the only head of state who worships with his church.

Prophet T. B. Joshua, who was given over 30 names by his parents when he was born, due to dramatic events that surrounded his birth, but decided to choose Temitope, has been a source of spiritual blessing to a number of countries, including Ghana.

Breaking his silence on a wide range of issues, the Man of God, who is gifted with the spirit of prophecy, miracles and healings, has explained why leaders of various countries visit his church to seek for spiritual protection.

He said what motivated people, especially presidents, former presidents, kings and others to visit his Church, the Synagogue Church of All Nations, which also has a branch in Accra, is the presence of God. According to him, most leaders who visited the church attest to the fact that God’s presence was in his church.

Prophet T. B. Joshua, who received a national award, Officer of the Order of the Federal Republic, which was conferred on him by President Umaru Yar’Adua, mentioned leaders from countries such as Gabon, South Africa, Zambia and Ghana, among others, as people who visit his church.

In a special report in a Nigeria Magazine, Top Celebrities, he said many presidents come into contact with the presence of God at the Synagogue Church. He explained how King Koshi Kgabo Moloto of the Limpopo Kingdom in South Africa, was thrilled when he came to his church in search of God’s breakthrough for his kingdom.

According to him, most visiting presidents were overwhelmed with the presence of God at the Church, and had testified with their mouths. He specifically mentioned the Gabonese President, Mr. Omar Bongo

The special report on the Synagogue Church has this to say, “President Bongo, wanting to see the wonders of what God is using Prophet T. B Joshua to do, came with his wife and daughter. The visiting President was overwhelmed with the presence of God at the Church, and he testified with his mouth. Few weeks before he returned to his home country of Gabon, and still dazed with the awesome presence of God at Synagogue Church of All Nations, President Bongo sent a presidential jet to bring Prophet T. B. Joshua to Gabon, to pray for his country.”

According to the special report on the Church, of which Prophet T. B Joshua chronicled events leading to his birth and aftermath, revealed that a former President of Congo Brazaville, Mr. Lissouba, and former President Andre Kolimba of the Central African Republic, had also visited him at different times, all in search of God’s presence and protection.

The special report carried on the Synagogue Church of All Nations did not leave out Ghana’s President, Prof. John Evans Atta Mills. In the report, it was stated that thousands of worshipers at the church were shocked when President Mills came to give thanks to God.

According to the report, President Mills, a law professor, shocked members when he confessed that it was Prophet T. B. Joshua who predicted his victory, and he was quoted as saying, “When I informed Prophet T. B. Joshua about my ambition to become President of Ghana, he looked at me and said, ‘I could see three elections ahead of you, and the results will be announced in January.’

“Now, if there is anybody who doesn’t believe in God, I would say our elections should change that person’s mind,” Prof Mills was quoted as saying.

A man who mentors presidents and at the same time moves with the downtrodden in society, and cares for thier needs – such is the pastor, TB Joshua. Another report from The Sun in Nigeria illustrates the calibre of people who have recognised the grace of God in his life and responded accordingly…

President Mills addresses the congregation at a special thanksgiving service at The SCOAN.

President Mills addresses the congregation at a special thanksgiving service at The SCOAN.

Heads of states, mostly from Africa, at different times have jettisoned protocols and dashed in to see a pastor in a Lagos suburb. They go to him to kneel, pray, learn and “seek the face of God”.

Some even dispatched presidential jets to bring him to pray for them, their households and country at large.

Taciturn and press shy, Prophet T.B. Joshua, General Overseer of Synagogue, the Church of All Nations, reluctantly spoke to Sunday Sun on his chain of visiting presidents. “It’s all for internal renovation. Those who are rich in every sense of the word understand that life is a learning process. It never stops’ he said.

Notable heads of states and leaders who throng the church include President Oma Bongo of Gabon, Frederick Chiluba of Zambia, King Goodwill Zwetithini, the Zulu King of South Africa. Others include the former President of Congo Brazzaville, Professor Pascal Lissonba and General Andre Kolimba.

The just sworn-in President of Ghana, Professor John Evans Atta Mills has added his name to the list. Barely four days after being sworn-in Mills and his Vice, John D. Mahama, attended a thanksgiving service at Synagogue.

In the course of the service, President Atta Mills spoke and described Pastor Joshua as his mentor. According to him, the pastor didn’t only predict his victory but taught him humility, the joy of reaching out to the less privileged and abiding faith in God.
“He’s a professor of law. We learn from each other. When you constantly strive to improve, you build character,” Pastor Joshua said.

Last Friday, the National Association of Nigerian Students, (NANS) added another feather to his cap. The executives of the association showered praises on him. Its Public Relations Officer, Comrade Agbabiaka Ahmed described him as an outstanding model for the growth and development of education in the country.

The students, Sunday Sun learnt, decided to honour the Pastor for his long list of scholarships and giving succour to poor Nigerian students. Late last year, the Federal Government bestowed a prestigious national honour Officer of the Federal Republic on him.

Professor John Evans Atta Mills, the newly elected President of Ghana, is a member of The Synagogue, Church Of All Nations, and openly testifies of his relationship with TB Joshua and the prophecy that saw him to the throne. After his inauguration as president, his first point of call was The SCOAN in Lagos for a thanksgiving service. PM News, the leading evening newspaper in Nigeria, was there…

The 64-year-old law professor had come to T.B. Joshua’s church for his first thanksgiving service outside Ghana since he emerged winner of an incredibly tight run-off presidential election on 3 January.

Mills narrated that when he informed Prophet Joshua before the contest that the presidential election in his country will take place on 7 December, 2008, he added that he expected the results to be out a few days after.

But, he said, the man of God, as Joshua is fondly called in his church, looked at him for some time and told him with authority that the election will not be decided until January 2009, adding that this will be after three contests.

“He (T.B. Joshua) looked at me for some time and smiled and said, ‘I can see three different elections ahead of you and that the results are going to be declared in January,’” Mills recounted. “And the results were announced in January!” he exclaimed.

The Ghanaian president prayed to God to give him wisdom to lead his people in unity, peace and prosperity. “My prayer to God is to give me wisdom to undertake my responsibility. To give me a big heart to play the role that he has given me,” he said.

Talking directly to prophet Joshua, Atta Mills said: “Man of God, I want to thank you and I want to thank the Almighty for using you and many others. God, we thank you. May your name be praised for ever and ever.”

Mills also disclosed that he had been a member of Joshua’s church for over 10 years, adding that he has known the man of God since he was Vice President of Ghana. “I am no stranger to this church. I have known the man-of-God for more than 10 years. I first met him when I was Vice President of the Republic of Ghana”

He also disclosed that T.B. Joshua showed special interest in his election as he organized prayer sessions for him. Mills called on the church members to continue to pray for him and Ghana for unity and prosperity. “I will urge that we continue to pray not only for Atta Mills, but for mother Ghana”

The Synagogue Church choir, waving Ghana’s red, yellow and green national flag, welcomed the Ghanaian leader with a song: “This is your day Atta Mills. The day you have always dreamt of. Remember to make God’s word the standard for your life.” Asking rhetorically, the choir added :“Are you a president? There are many presidents out there without a difference. But the promise of God is to make you one with a difference.”

Joshua, on his part, said Mills represents the hope of Ghananians. He explained that the impressive turn out during Mills’ inauguration in Accra, last week, was an indication that Ghanaians are full of hope that his government would ameliorate their plight.

He called on the new president to totally depend on God and nothing else. “Our Excellency, the only reason God gives power to rule nations is when we see him as the only king.” “When there is total dependence on God, there is hope for the weak, the lonely and the physically-challenged,” Joshua said. The man in the synagogue also admonished the new president to conduct a free-and-fair election when his mandate is over, adding that he must support charity organisations in his country.
