The Live Saturday and Sunday Services started like any other service in the past, but there was a huge package of surprises in the unfolding. True to The SCOAN culture, the service was inundated with interesting testimonies of healings, breakthroughs, mending of relationships and deliverance from demonic attacks. As can be seen from the accounts rendered hereon, the Anointing Water which is one medium God has so endowed the man of God, Prophet T.B. Joshua with to foster his ministry of healing and deliverance from evil influences has continued to bless people in every area of their needs. Encouraged by the great testimonies resulting from the use of the Anointing Water and the Anointing Stickers, Prophet T.B. Joshua decided to further bless the congregation, indeed the world with yet a new branded Anointing Water and a pair of Anointing Stickers with an improved booklet that explains the nitty-gritty and the origin of these blessed products. After a powerful and inspiring sermon delivered by Wise man Harry on the subject ‘No Neutral Source,’ Prophet T.B. Joshua addressed two major issues dealing with peoples’ misconception of appearances as opposed to true godliness. In summary he said that ‘Faith is of man’s spirit, not of his flesh or body’. Then, came the big surprise: Prophet T.B. Joshua spoke briefly of his upcoming 50th Birthday which falls on June 12. He said that God had inspired him to bless the people in a very special way to mark the occasion and he went ahead to distribute the new branded Anointing Water and a couple of beautiful Anointing Stickers freely to all. God Almighty and the heavenly hosts endorsed the release and confirmed that the prophet’s action was indeed ordered from above. This was evidenced by uncontrollable manifestations of people that came in contact with the Anointing Water and the Anointing Stickers even before ministering them. Indeed, God is still with us.

Life is a warfare. In a warfare, there are many battles to fight. When you look at people today, you will see that some are battling with their bills, some with their sickness, while some are fighting to make it in life. It takes the grace of God to realize that the way you fight these battles determines who you are before God. Just as there are two sides to a coin, so also there are two sources in this world: God and satan. Whether you believe it or not, there is no neutral source because there is no neutral kingdom. You can become great in life, in terms of position, money and fame, but the source of your greatness will be either from God or satan. Genesis 14:14-16,21-23. This is all about Father Abraham and his determination to make God Almighty his only source.
To be great born of God is to derive your resources from God, while to be great born of satan is to derive your resources from satan.
When God is the source of your strength, no one can be against you. When God is the source of your strength, you and God are majority. Abram, with the help of God, was able to defeat his enemies and recover all the goods and set the captives free.

One thing we need to remember is that Satan’s greatest interest is to overthrow our relationship to God as a Father. To do that, satan always uses our situation. This is why we should not be misled by our situation. Our situation could be poverty or sickness. Outward affliction and poverty are the great arguments satan uses to disturb the children of God. Therefore, as children of God, it is better to live poorly on the fruits of God’s goodness than to live plentifully upon the products of our own sin. Remember that everything big starts little. If anything big starts big, it calls for concern. Those who fail to take these tiny steps cannot trust God and understand the basic truth about faith.

CHRONIC CASE OF BEDWETTING HEALED
Mr Awallu Gaboh, a muslim had the problem of bedwetting and frequent urination for twenty years. It all started when a spirit being possessed him, which came and made love to him. The problem had made it impossible for him to get married or visit friends. His relations and friends could not understand why he would not marry. He visited several herbalists in search of solution but to no avail. Then, a friend of his gave him the Anointing Water which he ministered on his male organ and all over his body. When the spiritual wife attempted to force herself on him, he noticed that a very powerful ray of light was covering him and preventing the lady from coming close to him. After many attempts, she gave up and left. Since then, he has been free from the chronic case of bedwetting of over 20 years. Being a muslim, he said it was the first time he had entered a church (The SCOAN) but as he saw the way Prophet T.B. Joshua had treated people from all religions, he felt welcomed. He said that Prophet T.B. Joshua was sent to everyone regardless of their religion. He also changed his mind concerning getting married, stating that it was now possible.
BARRENNESS AND ALCOHOLISM STOPPED
Mr Abu Abdulazeez from Benue State had been childless for many years after marriage. The medical report stated their diagnosis of bacterial infection but his wife often told him that a certain spiritual man used to sleep with her and make love to her in the dream. Mr. Abdulazeez who is a military personnel, had the problem of addiction to alcohol for thirty-one years and could drink more than three cartons of beer in a single day and to worsen his situation, he always spent time in the company of his colleagues who were also habitual drinkers. After each drinking spree, he would usually lose his cell phone and end up being helped home in a state of stupor. He had attempted to quit the habit on his own but could not. He was always late to work on account of the drunkenness. On one occasion, he sleep-walked into an unfamiliar bush due to the effect of alcohol until he was saved by a man who told him that he had travelled close to Kogi State very far away from Abuja, his planned destination. He was also in the habit of returning home late at nights. He had lost three of his cars due to accidents resulting from drunkenness. One fateful day, he visited a friend and joined them in watching Emmanuel TV. He was astonished to see cases of drunkenness being delivered through the prayer of the man of God, Prophet T.B. Joshua. He joined in the prayer by placing his hand on the screen of the television. He invited his wife to place her hand on the television and she did. As soon as she placed her hand, she fell down and started manifesting. Soon after, his wife conceived. For himself, he tried to visit his former beer parlour where he ordered for a bottle of beer but it tasted of bitters and he had to spit it out. Since then, his addiction of 31 years stopped. Today, the wife is pregnant. Mr Abdulazeez does not visit beer parlours anymore and they now enjoy a very peaceful home.
YOUNG MAN DELIVERED FROM DEMONIC KINGDOM AND DISCONNECTED FROM SECRET CULTS
Mr Innocent Oluchi Chidozie Ochia – Imo State, Nigeria was an active member of some number of secret cults for many years. He is a graduate of Federal Polytechnic, Nekede in Imo State. He was an ardent church goer and a choir boy until one of his relations introduced him to various brands of drugs. They were into the music industry and those drugs were supposed to make him feel good and bold while on stage. Ironically, the influence of those drugs erased every passion for the things of God and he developed apathy to Christian music. He could consume large doses of those drugs every day and had to spend much of his pocket money in acquiring them. On one occasion, he had concealed himself behind the counter of a bar, smoking his weed and playing music very loud. Three beings appeared to him right there and one of them said that it could pick up his thoughts. He did not believe the being, and spoke in silence to test him. The beings responded correspondingly to prove that they could actually read his mind. They told him that they could discern that he wanted to be famous and that they could help him get to the top of his career. He asked to be helped. One of the beings stripped off and to his surprise, he saw that it was tattooed from the neck to the groin region. They started an initiation process and were making noises as if in a sex orgy. He could not stand the sight any longer and decided to walk away. He was threatened with premature death in four days if he walked out on them. He, however, tried to submit to the initiation. Back at the Polytechnic, his life took a different form. He could hear voices and interpret lyrics that he never was part of their making. He became fearless. He had no money but could get just whatever he wanted so long as he was dressed in a peculiar spiritual fashion that those beings had recommended. When he sang on stage and off-stage, he could hold people in trance and those who were unable to stand the situation had to run away. The drug addiction got so bad that he had to be sent to rehab. His academic career started diminishing. He never prayed and refused to pay his tithes any longer. He preferred to do his chores on the Sabbath day instead. He hated the things of God. Incidentally, he was invited to The SCOAN to witness the testimony of one of his aunts who had been delivered from demonic influence. He felt very uncomfortable in the church and would rather have some cigarettes and alcohol. During prayer by Wise man Daniel, he was arrested and felt the separation from the spiritual beings that had tormented him. The pain he felt on his leg also disappeared after he was touched and prayed for by the wise man. He advises the youths in particular that if they would make Heaven, they should avoid worldly affections such as smoking, doing drugs, drinking and lustfulness – telling them that Jesus Christ was not a womanizer or a drug addict.
He now enjoys reading the Bible and is eager to receive the Word of God that will inspire him.

SON OF A POPULAR NOLLYWOOD ACTRESS AND MUSICIAN DELIVERED FROM DEMONIC KINGDOM
Mr Samuel Freedom is the son of Camilla, a renowned Nollywood actress. He said he came to The SCOAN after his mother had been delivered of evil attacks and connection to the marine kingdom. He says that in a prophecy given to her by Prophet T.B. Joshua, his mother was asked where her son was. She responded that he was in Enugu and the man of God said he should be brought to The SCOAN. Previously, he had been practicing house to house evangelism and praying for the sick with signs following, though he had never been delivered himself. He confessed that during that period, he had an affair with a lady from the same church where he worshipped. Thereafter, his spiritual life took a downward turn. He experienced some career failure and stagnation. Nothing was working for him; he became depressed and often heard a voice telling him to commit suicide. He began looking for alternatives; he started listening to worldly music and doing street dance. He formed a dance group and they wanted to create new moves. They researched online and found different demonic signs which they formulated into dance moves. He would have dreams where demons would teach him dance steps. He would then in turn teach others how to dance in that way. He wanted to get money; so, he searched on the internet and found the Illuminati website; he read everything on the website and saw the face of the master of the Illuminati. His first experience was an encounter with the master in a dream. The master appeared in the form of a serpent and then later transformed into a human being, giving him instructions. Thereafter, he started using some of those signs that represented Illuminati in dance steps on stage, but participants never got to know that those dance steps were glorifying demons and initiating them into the kingdom of darkness. The more the people adopted the dance steps, the more they were tormented by demons. He had a shirt with the Illuminati insignia, which he usually wore especially on stage. He had a computer game known as Prince of Persia which he always played during the day. At night, he would see himself as the character from the video game, the Prince of Persia, flying, fighting and doing everything the character in the game was doing. He was in the habit of masturbating even though he detested the act and would regret it later.
He eventually came to The SCOAN and was delivered after prayer from Wise Man Christopher. He no longer has the urge to masturbate, smoke or drink. He advised parents to keep objects of bad moral influence away from their children. He advised youth not to download worldly music on their phones. His advice to pastors was to run to God for mercy for He is a merciful God.
A NIGHTCLUB DEEJAY IS NOT WHAT I WAS CALLED TO BE
Pastor Philip Onyekachukwu of Prince of Peace Ministries International and brother of Ms Camilla, the popular Nollywood actress, said he had received a call of God and then when his finances were down, he backslid to become a nightclub Deejay. He said he was not properly taught how to maintain his walk with the Lord. He could not pay his school fees and had to abandon the ministry. He had a dream where two women put their hands inside his chest after
which he became sick. He went from one place to another in search of a solution to his sickness which doctors were unable to diagnose. Later, he returned to being a pastor, though he acknowledged that he did so without being delivered. Consequently, he experienced setback in his ministry. He said that the church would grow and then later scatter. He would also hear voices rebuking him, telling him he was never going to make it and that the church was going down. He came to The SCOAN where he was prayed for by one of the wise men and received his deliverance. He said after his deliverance, he no longer heard negative voices and also the pain he had in his body was gone.
NOLLYWOOD ACTRESS WENT THROUGH THOROUGH SCREENING
Mrs Camilla, a Senior Nollywood Actress for 29 years said she didn’t have a hand in how, where and when she was born. She decided who she wanted to be when she came to The SCOAN. Many of her colleagues had discouraged her from coming to The SCOAN. She said, “Many of them are scared of coming to be screened by the Holy Ghost”. According to the actress, she was delivered at The SCOAN and also received a prophecy concerning her son. She brought him to The SCOAN together with her brother (Pastor Philip Onyekachukwu) for deliverance. She said she came for God to change her spiritual occasion from sin to holiness and she got it. She encouraged all to seek the face of God.
THE TRUTH ABOUT TATTOOS REVEALED
John Bosco from Cameroon gave a testimony of how he had a tooth problem and a woman had advised him to apply snuff tobacco as a solution to the problem. The effect of the tobacco made him feel high in spirit. He became addicted to it and eventually became very sick and lost a lot of weight. He was diagnosed with tuberculosis and gastric ulcer and reached rock bottom in life. One night, he had a dream whereby he saw the man of God, Prophet T.B. Joshua in his dream who prayed for him. Soon after the dream, he had a full recovery from his sicknesses and was restored back to his original self. To add to his blessing, he was also offered a good job from an offshore company with good pay and his life experienced a dramatic turnaround for the better. He was so overjoyed at the healing and blessing he received that he asked himself what he could do to

say, “Thank you”. He then called a tattoo artist and asked him to design a tattoo for him written, “Jesus Is Lord, T.B. Joshua My Prophet”. He had the tattoo inscribed across his shoulder. As he developed interest in studying the Scriptures, he came to a portion in the Book of Leviticus 19:28, which spoke against the act of putting marks of any sort on the body and immediately regretted doing the tattoo. He was so disturbed in his mind that he sent an email to the man of God, Prophet T.B. Joshua asking what he could do. The prophet then invited him to The SCOAN.
After sharing his experience, the man of God addressed the issue. “Just see it as one of those things on your body, not for God. If you see it like that, press forwards to serve God in Spirit and in truth. Don’t see it as a way of pleasing God. Don’t let it disturb you anymore. Put it behind you. Since you can’t remove it, leave it and continue to serve God.”
Prophet T.B. Joshua further said, “Faith is of man’s spirit, not of his flesh or body”. He advised the man that he should see the tattoo as something for his body and not for God. He said now that he had realized it was wrong, he should put it behind him and seek God. He said the tattoo had no meaning to God and is not to please God. He also advised Christians who already had tattoos and wanted to remove them, not to have them surgically removed as this was a trap of satan, which could lead to other skin complications. He concluded by saying that when we worship God in Spirit and truth, whatever we have put on our body is nullified.
MODIFY YOUR CULTURE TO SUIT CHRIST’S IDEOLOGY
Deacon Daniel Emoghawei came to The SCOAN and received a prophecy. Prophet T.B. Joshua asked him about his wife and had spoken concerning the conflict at home and the spirit of anger. Today, Deacon Daniel Emoghawei came back together with his wife to confirm the prophecy. He explained that the cause of most conflicts in the house was regarding his wife’s clothing and makeup. As a deacon, he didn’t like to see his wife with revealing clothes and heavy makeup. He further told the prophet that even on their wedding day, they had fought concerning the same matter. Apart from that, according to the husband, the wife had the spirit of anger that caused her to argue and get angry unnecessarily. His wife also spoke, complaining that they would always quarrel and never agree on anything in the house. She further said that her husband would beat her and this had heightened the tension in the marriage.
Listening to their story, Prophet T.B. Joshua expressed his belief from God’s point of view that God is Spirit and that those who want to worship Him must worship Him in Spirit and truth. Therefore, for God to hear, help or answer us, we must talk to Him in Spirit but the problem people have is that many have not been dealing with God in Spirit but in the natural.
Prophet T.B. Joshua explained that there was nothing wrong in putting on makeup but that our ideology and culture must be modified to suit Christ’s ideology. He added that if someone has the spirit of lust, whether he or she applies makeup or not does not make any difference because it is a spiritual matter and can only be resolved through being delivered.
He asked them what their position was concerning the marriage. They both said that they still loved each other as husband and wife but just wanted the conflict in their marriage to stop. Prophet T.B. Joshua encouraged the couple that there could be no understanding without misunderstanding. He said that if you ask any successful couple today about their experiences, they would tell you that they passed through the shadow of death before they arrived at a successful marriage. T.B. Joshua concluded by advising, “There is a time to fight and there is a time to embrace each other. No matter what happens, God has something to say, even in a broken situation. Therefore, we should always ask for God’s opinion concerning all things”.
The new brand of Anointing Water was officially launched. People were falling under the anointing of God upon receiving the new Anointing Water and Stickers. Inspired by the Spirit of God, Prophet T.B. Joshua gave out The New Anointing Water and Stickers for free to the congregation both inside and outside the auditorium as his 50th Birthday gift and in dedication to the blessed memory of his mother on the occasion of this year’s Mothers Day celebration.
The man of God, Prophet T.B. Joshua gave the grace for the congregation to receive the rebranded Anointing Water and Stickers for the first time after their official launch today. Excitement and shouts of joy rented the atmosphere as the long-awaited release was announced by the prophet. As soon as the Anointing Water and Stickers were given out freely to the congregation, people began to shake, roll on the floor and vomit out dangerous substances that had been lodged in their system, under the power of God. They hadn’t even opened the packaging before Jesus Christ began to work in their situation. Mrs Towoju from Kwara State, Nigeria was among many who after merely receiving the New Anointing Water and Sticker received a miracle. She came out to testify that God healed her of a stroke after merely collecting a bottle of the Anointing Water along with the Anointing Sticker. Glory be to God!

TESTIMONIES GALORE – A MILLION THANKS ARE NOT ENOUGH

The Sunday Service on 30 September 2012 kicked off with the prayer line after which Prophet T.B. Joshua asked for testimonies to be given, one after the other.

1.       NNAMDI EDOZIE AND WIFE – RECONCILED AFTER DELIVERANCE

A video was played in which the prophet last Monday prophesied to a couple that there was no affection at home. The husband, Mr Nnamdi Edozie revealed that though he has a beautiful woman as a wife, she is used to beating him; he washed her clothes and she was indeed the husband at home. He used to dream also, in which he saw his wife’s spiritual husband sleeping with her while he was turned into a houseboy. He said the wife was also wasteful in spending, violent and domineering. The second video was played, revealing the wife’s deliverance. The evil spirit spoke through her that it wanted to kill the couple through an accident and the wife would never have a child.

The husband told the congregation this Sunday morning that he had suffered so much, and had spent close to N15 million, visiting over 50 churches and 21 herbalists, for a solution, without success. Instead, he was told lies as to the causes of the problems in his household. He suffered financially and even had to use his vehicle as collateral. He experienced terrible accidents with his personal Jeep and three of his vehicles used in his transport business.

After her deliverance, she dreamt that the spiritual husband who had previously chased her wanting to use her for pepper soup was instead cut to pieces and used for pepper soup. Calling her husband “my baby boy” to acknowledge the renewed love between them, she stated that she was “the happiest woman on earth”. To the husband, the affection is now wonderful – “Just like an electric shock”, he said with a huge smile. He had advised that couples should look up to God as “there is nothing God cannot do”.

2.       MRS HELLEN UBONG TOON – RECONCILED WITH HER HUSBAND

A video was replayed showing the prophet prophesying to Mrs Hellen Ubong Toon that she had caught her husband with another woman and that she needed to hear God’s voice on the issue. After revealing a prophetic word to the woman about a man meeting her in her dreams, Prophet T.B. Joshua posed a question to her, asking her if that was not fornicating spiritually. Her home, according to the prophet was plagued by a spiritual husband. This morning, the woman had come with her husband; her husband used to be good to her, until recently when he turned against her, especially as she had remained barren for 12 years. For the first three years of their marriage, he said that things were really good for him but after that time, he had to sell his three cars and house due to financial problems caused by the spiritual husband. He had also slept with other women to prove his virility and fertility after which he was convinced that she was the cause of the barrenness. Prophet Joshua promised to deliver them and reconciliation occurred immediately.

3.       PASTOR LUCY PAYE TENIE – DELIVERED FROM EVIL FORCES

The USA based pastor (with a prophet for a husband) and co-founder of The End Times Ministries had come to the church, having watched numerous miracles performed and shown on Emmanuel TV. The evil spirit which spoke through her said it was responsible for fighting against the ministry, especially the commitment towards liberating Africa through the mechanism of Christianity. It said it was a collection of evil spirits from under the sea, which specialized in confusing people and creating sicknesses all over them. She had worked on a number of items (like a foundation centered on the less privileged and victims of HIV/AIDS, orphans, widows, etc) but had often procrastinated. She had told the church today, that she had only come for deliverance but was shocked to see what happened to her. She said she had pursued a career in medicine and now Biblical studies. She said deliverance is an important process but it must be done in a living church because though delivered before now, nothing worked for her.

Prophet T.B. Joshua spoke on the need for people to be aware of the fact that one may not know himself and that God can use anything to do His work. Works of charity must be done consistently to “prove that you are a servant”.

4.       ROSE IDRISU – EXPERIENCED BREAKTHROUGH THROUGH THE ANOINTING WATER

A Ghanaian woman had come to the church to thank God for the spectacular breakthrough she has experienced in her life, through a former poor, kindergarten teacher. She had earlier come to The SCOAN to collect Anointing Water from the prophet, which she administered. She started selling timber and this soon grew into a prosperous business. Today, she has two Jeeps and five trucks and four building though she started the business with only $350. 

Her advice to people was that the most important change is her life was not becoming a comfortable millionaire but that her faith increased to a new level and her life was completely transformed. This was her advice to people.

5.       AYUK AKOACHERE – EXPERIENCED ACADEMIC AND ENTERPRENEURAL BREAKTHROUGH THROUGH THE ANOINTING WATER

A Cameroonian, this multiple award winner, came to the church to express gratitude to God for His mercy on him. Frustrated in his job as an MTN Financial Analyst and Planning Manager, he had visited The SCOAN and was privileged to receive the Anointing Water. He applied it in his home and office and also sprayed in directly on himself. In 2011, he received an award for best performance in November and then the quarterly award as an outstanding employee. He also got the 2011 award in the category of “knowledge shared” and the MTN- Best Award in West and Central Africa. He chose to be sponsored by the company; he attended the Harvard Business School, Oxford Business School and The London Business School and made good impressions in the midst of other business executives from all over the world.

The Anointing Water is always his companion and it has opened a lot of doors and many companies wish to employ him, even as a physically challenged. His advice to the young is to trust in God though “we live in a world of temptations, doing crazy things to make money”. He said Jesus gives us an open cheque to fill any amount and enjoy life to the fullest with no strings attached. He also encouraged people should trust and have faith in Jesus and “He will do the rest”.

6.       MRS TANGANY BOTHO– DELIVERED FROM GALL BLADDER STONES THROUGH THE ANOINTING WATER

Mrs Botho had initially experienced terrible pain and felt she was dying before she chose to visit the hospital where she was diagnosed with gall bladder stones. Doctors recommended operation but she refused and came to The SCOAN and was privileged to get Anointing Water which she used; upon use, she felt a burning sensation and her pain faded gradually. Eventually, she did a test and was told the stones were no longer there. She had advised that people should trust God because through Him, all things are possible. It was her first time of coming to The SCOAN from Botswana.

7.       KENNEDY VIRGINIA EKERIA – DELIVERED FROM AN 18 YEARS ADDICTION TO DRUGS THROUGH THE ANOINTING WATER

He had actively used drugs for 18 years and became morally and psychologically depressed. He had used a variety – Indian hemp, cocaine, heroine and many other drugs. Not being able to stop it by himself, his wife joined the battle when she became terrified of him as he was always humiliating and beating her. After one of his violent rants, she was hospitalized and operated on but in the end because of his financial carelessness, he could not pay the hospital bill. He explained that without his knowledge, she was pouring the Anointing Water into his bath, food and drinking water and praying with Emmanuel TV. Due to her prayers and active faith, he became calmer and calmer. One night, he was ‘arrested’ in the dream by the Holy Spirit, God met with him and he abandoned his drug habits and old ways of life.

8.       HNR KING RICHARD SEIBA – DELIVERED FROM KIDNAPPERS AND GIVEN A CAR AND N500,000 BY PROPHET T.B. JOSHUA AND THE EMMANUEL TV PARTNERS

Hnr King Richard Seiba is from Yenogoa Council, Bayelsa State, Nigeria and was kidnapped from his home by seven armed youths who removed him through a window. He was alleged to be having an oil company in his domain through which he made a lot of money and built several houses. The kidnappers had demanded for a ransom of N30 million. One of those close to the king, Mishak Matthew (from Edo State) had tried to raise some money – first N2 million and then N4.5 million which was rejected by the kidnappers. Matthew travelled to The SCOAN from Bayelsa and obtained the Anointing Water which he sprayed on the king’s photograph and prayed. During the service, Mr Mishak also held the photograph of the king and one of the wise men touched it and ‘it was over’.

The king though he had suffered hunger and deprivation for many days was eventually released after the prayer as confusion set in among the kidnappers.

The king thanked God and T.B. Joshua as he said he was released on 25 September 2012. He said though they had wanted to kill him, Jesus saved him as he had seen T.B. Joshua in a dream. He said the kidnappers told him that some members of his community betrayed him but he had fasted and prayed earnestly. Grief-hearted, he had been released only narrowly. He thanked God for his security and return home. During the Sunday service, Prophet T.B. Joshua had promised to give him a car and N500,000. The very next day, during the Monday service, the pledge was fulfilled – a brand new Honda Accord car was given to him along with N500,000. He was advised to put the troubles behind him.

9.       MIRIAM AND FELISTUS NJATHU – HEALED OF HIV/AIDS POSITIVE ONE AT THE PRAYER LINE

Both are sisters from Malawi and suffered from HIV/AIDS Positive 1 for two years before they came to The SCOAN to be part of the prayer line. Miriam is 28 years and Felistas is 33 years old and both had suffered from dizziness and chronic headaches for two years. Holding their medical reports as evidence, they were certified negative, after returning to their country following their healing in the church on 25 December 2012. Both said that fornication and adultery led to their plagues before they were delivered. Miriam said she is free and fit and that people should always trust in God as “The Mighty Healer”. Felistus also said people should not lose hope; they should know that God is able to do all things for His children.

10.   MOLLY SEBELE – HEALED OF CERVICAL CANCER THROUGH THE ANOINTING WATER

A lecturer in a College of Education, Botswana (Dean of Physical Education Department), Molly Sebele had suffered from cervical cancer which gave her copious vaginal discharges that made her smell badly. By the grace of God, she received the Anointing Water which she used constantly and prayed with Prophet T.B. Joshua on Emmanuel TV and was miraculously healed with the medical report to prove it.

11.   MOSES ANI AND WIFE – DELIVERED FROM BARRENNESS THROUGH THE ANOINTING WATER

Moses Ani had suffered from low sperm count while his wife, Blessing had experienced no menses for years and this had resulted in barrenness. They were privileged to have The Anointing Water with which they prayed and later sprayed. Today, God has blessed them with a child of their own. They advised that people should hold on and hold out and trust in God because “with Him, all things are possible”.

12.   UGOCHUKWU IKENNA – DELIVERED FROM HARD DRUGS THROUGH THE ANOINTING WATER

He had been a drug addict for many years selling his own clothes to buy drugs; he led a miserable life living moment by moment for his next fix. For seven years, he was not himself. He was taken to a rehabilitation centre and released on July 18, 2012, yet he returned to drugs. His wife had decided to put The Anointing Water in his food and he slept for many hours after eating it. The man who had once led a terribly rough life and had sold three cars, gradually regained himself and reconciled with his wife who had separated from him because of the drugs. He said that as The Anointing Water was having effect on him, a ball of fire left his body. He said drugs ruin people and that it is only God could help them in moments of stress.

13.   BEATRICE ATOM – DELIVERED FROM POVERTY AND LONELINESS

Mrs Beatrice Atom is a Liberian whose husband was killed by militants on August 10, 1990. He was actually shot dead and cut into four pieces right in front of his wife. She escaped into the forest with her kids and stayed there for eight months. She was full of pain in her heart and had to take care of three daughters and a boy, alone. Her house was also burnt to the ground.

After narrating her story, T.B. Joshua and the Emmanuel TV Partners in an act of charity, gave her N300,000 and a copy of “The Mirror”. She was grateful to T.B. Joshua and the Emmanuel TV Partners for their generosity and for being located by the Holy Spirit.

WISE MAN JOHN CHI’S MESSAGE

During the Monday Service, Wise Man John Chi preached to the congregation. Among other things, he said that “We are privileged to be family of God” and that “We all need good, inspired people to make it in our respective callings, as success is a collection of relationships”.

He said Jesus is the greatest soul winner and that nothing is too big for Him to give for the relief of the needy and physically challenged. He said “We are called to respond to all human needs” and “You can make a difference in the Kingdom of God”. His sermon was essentially based on the need for Christians to contribute to the progress of the society by being partners of Emmanuel TV. He concluded, “Step out in boldness and take Jesus at His Word”.

A PASTOR LEADS BEST WHEN HIS PEOPLE GET BEHIND HIM

After a powerful prayer line where people were disconnected from any demonic influence in their lives, Prophet T.B. Joshua entered the teeming cathedral and gave an enlightening sermon titled, ‘A True Prophet’. Asking how one will tell who is a true prophet or a false prophet and using the book of 1 John 4:1, he said the one having a divine spirit that comes from above is meek, peaceable and humble, and refrains from all impurities of this world. He said that the spirit speaks only when God wishes it to speak whereas others are always ready to pray. He added people generally have the wrong impression that healing, miracles, the spirit of prophecy and all of God’s blessings are wrought at the will of the person concerned. This is why people easily feel a prophet should be able to pray anytime, not minding whether it is the right time or not. A true prophet however will not pray without spirit intimation. He explained that without direction from the Spirit, if they give, they give of themselves; they prophesy of themselves; that is why there are prophecies without accomplishment; healings without results.

In a tribute to his late mother, Prophet T.B. Joshua said that she had advised him that when he did not seem to receive from God, he should look into his love walk as the Bible in Mark 12:31 says we should love our neighbour as ourselves. He explained that when the hour of her departure came, he had sent for her and she was with him for a day and they discussed. He said he did not know how to relate to her the message that he had received from God because it was news that no one wants to hear. However, he had learned from reading the Bible that the issue of departure can be delayed by prayer or by waiting in faith (Isaiah 38:4; Luke 7:2). He told his mother that no matter how upright we are, we still need to rededicate ourselves. He explained how he told her, “Everyone has been tempted; I have been tempted; you have been tempted and we will continue to be challenged by issues that violate our conscience. We all face the temptation to do the wrong thing but there is a way – Jesus is the Way”. He said that when we give our lives to Jesus and make Him our boss, CEO and Director in all we do, we are under His supervision to do all.

He added that although his brothers and sisters had wanted to help their dear mother medically, her departure could not be delayed by human sympathy; he told her to be in an attitude of prayer. He said that, “When it is time for man’s departure, nothing can delay it except waiting in faith or through prayer”. The man of God added that we have read about many Biblical characters whose departure was delayed. Hezekiah was rich and favoured and when he cried out to God, God answered him in Isaiah 38:4 “I have heard your prayer and I have seen your tears, surely I will add to your days, 15 years.” The prophet explained that unchangeable means, what will happen will still happen.

He referred to the late President of Ghana, Professor John Evans Atta Mills, saying that, “My dear father President Atta Mills – if there is anyone that would want the late president to spend 200 years on this earth, I am number one.”

He recalled a phone call he had made to the late president a month and a week ago in which he described a vision that he had seen of cloud covering his apartment. He told him that he should be prayerful because he had seen his body being transfigured to a celestial realm. He had also advised the president who was planning to travel to the USA to be prayerful because of the vision. Speaking to the congregation, the man of God said, “When clouds come down to pick you up, it is a hero’s welcome.”

The man of God had also told the president that his coming 68^th birthday should be dedicated to God through fasting and prayer. He explained that the birthday was not celebrated on Emmanuel TV because there was no way you could wish Happy Birthday without saying, “Long life’.

Speaking on why he had not travelled to Ghana for the last three years, the prophet said that he could not go anywhere without first hearing from God. He added that he would love to be there anytime he heard from God, especially because, according to him, Ghana was his second home.  Still speaking on the departure of the late Ghanaian President, Professor John Evans Atta Mills, he said that he knew where he was going, adding “Let your soul admire where he is and pray to be there one day.” He emphasised, “It is a wonderful grace to know where you are going. You need not fear where you are going when you know Jesus is going with you.”

He ended his message saying that a pastor leads best when his people get behind him.

NATIVE ENERGY CRUSHED BY GOD’S POWER

When Mr Oba Yabrifa Ebiundu (a witch doctor) was encountered by the prophet during the previous Monday service, his true identity was revealed through a word of prophecy. The man of God told him that he was a witch doctor with powers and energy that he used even to cause and stop rain. He immediately confirmed the prophet’s words and his wife added that the small demons appeared to her and attacked her when they were coming to The SCOAN. After the video of the prophecy, footage of Yabrifa in his community shrine as a Chief Priest and villagers worshipping him was played.

Mr Yabrifa accompanied by his wife and son then came into the service to tell his story. He introduced himself as a witch doctor and chief priest who was the father of every colour who served the ‘god of justice’. He explained that he was the custodian of the deity which was an inheritance from his grandfather. He said that from when he was a small child, he would go to the river to catch fish for his mother and preferred spending time in the river than going to school or staying at home. Initially wanting to reject the inheritance of the chief priest, he tried to do a security job but the deity appeared to his employers in the form of his father and warned them to release him because he was a royal chief priest.

Then, on one fateful day during a local festival, Mr Yabrifa physically felt a force enter him, eventually leading him to a river where he stayed in the depths of the water for several hours. The next moment Mr Yabrifa realised that he was in the centre of the diabolic shrine, being crowned as chief priest.

He was taught how to make charms for people but despite his ‘native energy’, he knew that something was disturbing him. Although people flocked from far and wide to pay homage to him and partake in the native ceremonies where hard liquor was poured and animals sacrificed, Mr Yabrifa remained in poverty while the demons regularly attacked his family members. He explained how when pastors came and held crusades next to his shrine, praying against the idols he worshipped, he would be provoked and invoke rain to come and stop their crusade. He further said that the deity never allowed him to shake anyone’s hand as his hand was reserved for feeding the deity alone. He also never bowed for anyone or removed his cap or shoes as the deity always told him that he was to be worshipped and was above everyone else.   Referring to his son, he said that he also had native powers and was his second in command.

Mr Yabrifa explained that he kept warning his wife to stop watching Emmanuel TV because of the deliverances God used T.B. Joshua and the wise men to do were beyond his own native power. Eventually forced to come to The SCOAN because of his poverty and wretched life as a smoker, drunkard and womanizer, Mr Yabrifa never thought that he would be discovered. After the prophecy, he explained that he had had a dream in which Prophet T.B. Joshua followed him to his village and helped him set the idols ablaze and deliver the community. Upon listening to Mr Yabrifa, Prophet T.B. Joshua spoke on the need of his followers also coming to The SCOAN for their own deliverance.

THE ARENA OF LIBERTY!

The prophet led the congregation and viewers in a powerful time of prayer, saying, “I can see you being delivered, healed. You yoke, bondage, I command you to be loosed in Jesus’ name”. Truly, the people were disconnected from every demonic activity as they agreed with T.B. Joshua and prayed along in faith. After the prayer, the man of God moved through the entire auditorium giving words of prophecy and counselling to the people as intimated by the Spirit of God. In the second service, the auditorium was full to the brim with more people awaiting their freedom and the wise men using the authority in the name of Jesus continued to command any evil spirit to leave the people. We thank God for setting his people free in the arena of liberty.

The Wonders From The Synagogue

A comprehensive article concerning the charitable works of God at The Synagogue, Church Of All Nation in Lagos, Nigeria with Pastor TB Joshua, as written by the prestigious Tell Magazine of Nigeria…

For many, The Synagogue Church of All Nation is a house of miracles. But unknown to many also, some other kinds of miracles do come from The Synagogue. For a country where the poverty level is ever on the increase and people appear helpless, not a few believe that the time has come for the church to go beyond giving people spiritual food to giving more than a cursory attention to their physical needs.

One man of God who has realised this long ago is Prophet Temitope Balogun Joshua, better known as ‘The Man in The Synagogue’. For him, the situation of things in the country, especially as it affects the growing population of the needy, calls for all hands to be on deck. So, helping the needy is one cardinal principle that The Synagogue Church of All Nations holds in high esteem. According to the founder of the church, Prophet TB Joshua, “if millions of this generation are to believe, they must see proof that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever (Hebrews 13:8). He, therefore, admonished everyone to be a shining light where there is darkness, a channel of knowledge where there is ignorance and a channel of faith were there is doubt. According to him, “The Bible records that works of charity and righteousness go together. So, you cannot separate one from the other. This is what the Bible means when it says ‘watch and pray’. A Christian without work is dead.”

As a demonstration of biblical teaching of helping the poor, which includes the needy, widows, dwarfs and widowers, he organises different programmes to meet their needs. He was also very instrumental to the resettlement of over 200 people displaced as a result of the Lagos bomb blast of year 2000. First, they were accommodated in the church for no fewer than 20 days, with the church spending not less than N500,000 daily to cater for them. “At the end of the day, many of them could not go back to their homes because their houses were destroyed. WE had to give them between N200,000 and N300,000 for them to go and look for accommodation. If not, they would have continued to live in the church,” recalled the prophet.

Widows And Widowers Forum
This programme is targeted at widows and widowers in the society. It is designed to bring succour and relief to persons who have lost their spouses to the cold hands of death. In the words of Prophet Joshua, it is to encourage them in their Christian walk. The Bible, he says, teaches us that ‘in a world that cares less, we should care more” adding that Jesus is a ‘father to the fatherless, a defender of widows and husband to all’. Aside from feeding the widows and widowers with the Word of God, he demonstrated practical love for them by giving them various sums of money ranging from N50,000 to N250,000 to enable them to start their own businesses. Some of the beneficiaries could not believe their eyes as they rolled on the floor dancing and singing praises to God. They also thanked the prophet for making himself an instrument in the hands of the Almighty. It is not difficult to fathom why the women were so joyous. Some of them who shared their testimony told pathetic stories of how the pangs of poverty had ravaged their lives. They were poor and homeless, with their children out of school because they could not pay their school fees.

It is quite unbelievable that many of these beneficiaries are non-members of The Synagogue Church of All Nations. In their testimonies, they came to know about the programme on television when the forum for widows and widowers was aired. For instance, Olawunmi Kayode, one of the recipients who became a widow at the age of 23 with four children, told a heart-rending story of how the only property her late husband left behind was demolished by officials of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. With no house to stay in and no thriving business, life was hellish for Kayode and her children who had also dropped out of school. However, succour came her way after watching one of the Widow’s Forum programmes on television in Abuja. Though she had no transportation fare, she was determined to be in Lagos, hence she came by a lorry loaded with foodstuff. To here amazement, she was given N200,000 to start a new business. Widows were not the only people that were touched by the man of God. A widower, Raphael Bamidele, a professional mechanic who lost his workshop to local government officials, was also given money to re-start his life.

Integrating the Dwarfs
The man of God has instituted a programme to help dwarfs in the society. Dwarfs, he recognised, are rejected and neglected by their families and the mainstream in the society. In his efforts to integrate them into the society, he shared a wonderful moment with them, teaching them the Word of God. His sermon was titled: ‘With God, all things are possible.’ He told them to borrow a leaf from the biblical Zacchaeus who, though a short man, was not frustrated but was determined to see Jesus. So, he encouraged them to be focussed and to be good disciples of Jesus who created them. According to him, because they were dwarfs does not make them lesser human beings. He encouraged them to aim high and distinguish themselves in their various callings. As a way of integrating them into the society, he stated that the church was going to be concerned with their welfare, health, accommodation, food as well as education in the form of giving scholarships to those who are students among them. One of the dwarfs who is a student of the nation’s premier university, the University of Ibadan, was given N90,000 to enable him to settle his fees, accommodation and other needs in school. Another who is a student of Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin received N70,000.

Feeding the Destitute Persons at Okobaba, Ebute-Metta, Lagos
Like the biblical example when Jesus fed the multitude with five loaves of bread, and two fish when they were hungry. Prophet Joshua has also been feeding the destitute persons at Okobaba, Lagos, Apart from feeding them with prepared food, he also gave them some bags of rice. It was not only their children that were fed, the aged were also provided for.

Mohammed Baba, general secretary of the Okobaba Destitute Home, Abubakar Gaya, ‘emir’ for the crippled, Mohammed Daniru, ‘emir’ for the blind and Ado Ahamadu, ‘emir’ for the lepers, are full of praises for Prophet Joshua. “We are very happy! May God bless Prophet Joshua and Emmanuel TV,” declared Baba and many others. Baba said that Joshua had been with them even before the Lagos State government moved them away from the railway track in Ebute-Metta. He submitted that “If there are three or four people doing what TB Joshua is doing, the number of beggars would have been drastically reduced on the roads”.

Recently, the man of God donated food items and school uniforms for over 200 pupils of the home. This, according to Joshua, was to enable them to return to the classroom. The church also donated a bus to convey the children to school and their parents to the hospital for medical care. The sum of N300,000 was earmarked for fuelling the bus. Joshua equally gave out mobile phones to officers of the home to ease communication. According to Prophet Joshua, “This bus is provided to convey your children to school and return them. The bus will also be used to take you, the parents and aged people to hospital whenever the need arises. I make this solemn promise to sponsor the children up to university education because I believe that there are great leaders, presidents and ministers among them. If there is nobody to help them, there is no way they could achieve this.” While delivering the particulars and the key of the bus to Baba, Joshua promised to pay the driver of the bus a monthly salary. He also said he was ready to provide another bus if necessary. He further promised to arrange for doctors to come to the home regularly for routine medical check-ups for the aged among them. He also said he would find a lasting solution to their water problem.

But why is Joshua doing all this? “I feel what they feel because I was once like them. I have tasted poverty, abject neglect and suffering. So, I understand their pains. Regardless of their religion or belief, I love to help them; I am passionate to lessen their suffering and give them a new lease of life. I cannot say I won’t help them because there was no one to help when I was like them. I am a product of grace; therefore, I should show love. I know it is to be poor and I know what it is to have more than enough. More importantly, God has commanded us to help and be our brother’s keeper.”

The Synagogue Church Of All Nations...

Prophet Joshua and Peacemaking
Liberia, until a few years back, was in the throes of a civil war that left it prostate. The whole crisis snowballed following the death of Samuel Doe, the country’s then President. Doe’s family and others believe that it was Yormie Johnson, then a rebel leader, who was responsible for Doe’s death. This sad event, even though he was in the United States of America when it happened, was ever fresh in the memory of Mr. Samuel Kenyon Doe Jr, son of the late president, and he vowed to give Johnson the battle of his life whenever he had opportunity to meet him.

As a way of finding lasting peace in the country, the likes of Johnson had to go into exile. Nigeria offered Johnson asylum. While in Nigeria, he became a member of the church. And as fate would have it, Johnson and Doe Jr met in The Synagogue Church Of All Nations, Lagos, Nigeria, and Doe Jr. lived up to his vow. He drew a knife to stab Johnson in the course of the service and there was pandemonium in the church. But for the timely intervention of Prophet TB Joshua, who intervened by standing in between, it would have been a bloody service. There and then, the prophet initiated reconciliation between the two families.

Johnson, who is now a Senate President in Liberia, in a telephone interview explained: “I did not know that members of the Doe’s family were in the church. They were living in America but they came to The Synagogue Church of All Nations in Lagos, Nigeria, seeking for God’s intervention in the problems that were facing them. I was in the church and somebody told him that ‘you see that man over there. He is Yormie Johnson that killed your father.’ What followed was that he went and brought a dagger to come and harm me.’

Johnson further recalled, “He said, ‘Oh! I have been looking for this man all over the world and I promised that wherever I see Yormie Johnson, I will kill him and kill myself. This is my time to deal with this man.’ But by the intervention of the man of God and by the Spirit of the Living God, he came forward and confessed that he wanted to harm me, that he had been planning it over the years, that whenever he sees me, he was going to kill me. That is how it all started. She, he confessed everything that he had in mind. The man of God brokered a peace and enjoined us to allow peace to reign. He prayed with us and the two families embraced, and he prayed with us.”

The Indonesia Crusade
Though Prophet TB Joshua is widely travelled and has conducted several crusades across the world, his crusade in Indonesia was a terrific experience. The reception he got from the enthusiastic people is that reserved only for kings. The young, the old, the poor and the rich in the society thronged the airport in their thousands to welcome the man of God to their country. Senior ministers of God and other ‘who-is-who’ in Indonesia were on hand to receive the man of God. A young boy and a beautiful young girl presented him with a bouquet of flowers as soon as he alighted from the aircraft. He was driven in a convoy of state-of-the-art vehicles through the major streets of Jakarta before begin taken to a five-star hotel.

TB Joshua Preaches At The Indonesia Crusade, with thousands in attendance...

On the night of the crusade, the people of Indonesia came in their thousands. And, to His glory, God used Prophet TB Joshua to open the eyes of the blind. The deaf heard and the lame walked. Many others were delivered from the oppression of the devil. However, there was a peculiar situation that revealed the overwhelming power of God in the life of the prophet. A man who claimed to be an agent of Lucifer, the devil, with a stubborn spirit, was also in the congregation. He told the prophet that he was angry with him and that he wanted to destroy him. But to the glory of God, the prophet of God made a mockery of him and defeated him in the open. The prophet cast out the seven stubborn spirits that were in him. Among them was Beelzebub, which made him to have hatred and anger for the man of God. The man, whose name is Fieri Samosir, later testified to the goodness of God after he was delivered by Prophet TB Joshua. He thanked God for setting him free and for giving him peace of mind like he had never had before.

Donation to the House of Love
Here, Prophet TB Joshua demonstrated his love for God and mankind as he personally provided for the needy in the city of Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia. It is instructive to know that the man of God truly displayed God’s love for all as he openly dined with those who live under the bridges, on railway tracks and the cemeteries. That he cares for the poor was further expressed when he gave $30 000 to the House of Love, as a way of boosting their activities. “Jesus is the Father of the fatherless”, he admonished the people who sang and thanked God. According to TB Joshua, “the rich and powerful want to oppress the poor, but God loves and provides for them; those who are weak and lonely should trust in the goodness of God.” The leader of the House of Love openly expressed deep appreciation to God and Prophet TB Joshua for making himself God’s instrument of blessing to the poor. “You are a blessing for the nation,” she told Prophet Joshua.

The Singapore Crusade
This was a unique experience for the people of Singapore. The crusade, which was a national event, was aptly titled, ‘Singapore Healing Campaign’. Held at the country’s international stadium, it was indeed a time of national healing as the rich and mighty, the poor, the sick, the weak and the forsaken that thronged the crusade ground left with testimonies. The two-day crusade program was an awesome experience as people came from neighbouring counties like Malaysia to be blessed by God. And to the glory of God, the blind received their sight, those with exotic diseases were healed, the demon-possessed were set free, while those who had been bound were delivered. As many testified, it was apparent that God had visited the country because the lives of many were transformed.

TB Joshua In Singapore: Were You Healed, Delivered or Offended?

Prophet TB Joshua’s crusade in Singapore was a history-making event, unlike any the Asian nation had previously witnessed. Here is an account of onlookers writing for the Saviour Times, who did their best to depict few of the incredible scenes that unfolded during that historic week in late 2006, a week not to be soon forgotten in the hearts of the countless thousands of attendees…

Prophet T B Joshua’s method of ministering God’s miracle-working power during his National Healing Campaign (27 Nov- 2 Dec 2006) courted controversy. Is that what Jesus would have done? In our natural reactions to his unconventional “style”- turning up at the last hour or even after designated meeting times – how inspired were we, by Our Father?

Sunday, 26 November 2006. 8.15 am.
Member: “Hey, how come no announcement that the car park would be closed? Must complain to Pastor Derek! Eh, why are there so many African people here today?”

The first appearance of Prophet T.B. Joshua in Singapore on Sunday 26 November 2006 at Church of Our Savior (COOS) draws, in the words of the Man of God himself, “an encouraging turnout.” People stream into the premises from as early as 7.30am for the 8.30am service which will last till 1.30 pm – a record-breaking 5-hour-long, single service for COOS. By 8.10am the Auditorium is overflowing with the sick, the deaf, the lame, the demonized, the poor, the broken, the desperate, the seeking, the curious and the unsuspecting. Downstairs, upstairs, eventually on every stair; inside, outside, in the car park, in the plaza – every nook and cranny of COOS is sardine-packed with people. With the onset of clamorous praise and worship, faith begins to rise like a heady incense.

9.30am, 10.00 am. Video testimonies are flashed – Botswana for Christ, raising up the dead – graphic, raw, awesome. 10.30 am and the congregation of the second Sunday service also throngs into COOS. But, of the Prophet, not a sign.

This would become a familiar scene throughout the rest of the prophet’s inaugural healing rallies in Singapore. A whisper begins to circulate that this man of God operates ONLY on the Holy Spirit’s divine timing. The crowd is clearly getting uncomfortable.

Member: “What do you mean? Sit in the car park and watch the screen? No air-con, you know!” Parent with hungry child: “How to sneak out with junior to the hawker centre to eat and still “chope” my seat in church today? The Prophet coming or not?” When he arrives, the scene is like a pop star amidst a sea of a dozen burly black-clad Nigerians encircling him. But when Pastor Derek introduces the Prophet TB Joshua, a deep bond of love and fellow servant-hood is evident, in spite of their stark physical contrasts. The Man of God brings greetings from his church, the Synagogue Church of All Nations in Lagos, Nigeria with a strong African-English accent . “Love one another as I have loved you – John 13:34. Tell your neighbour, “I love you,” the Man of God exhorts.

He preaches on forgiveness – the bridge between God and man – as the powerful voices of his own Nigerian worship team punctuate his plain rhetoric. Another member: “Dear Lord, let my daughter be healed today. She has suffered for seven years already from a weak spine. Lord, have mercy. She is only 15 years old.” Evil spirit: “Man of God, why have you come to torment me? I have possessed this human for nine years. Her father invited me into her. She is mine!” Visitor: “Wait so long already, still no action! Giving up, going home to rest now before I also need healing from falling sick too!”

“Jesus knows who you are and where you are coming from,” the Prophet says. “Jesus knows it is common for people to promise Heaven and Earth when they are sick but to do little or nothing when they have received healing. To enjoy the miracles and blessings of God, you must learn to make God’s Word the Standard for the rest of your lives. Otherwise, there is danger.”

Before you can quite figure out what that danger can be, suddenly, a great emotional outburst: Young Lady: “Prophet! Man of God! Save my mother! Please! She has cancer! Man of God!” Senior Citizen: “Man of God, please help my daughter! She cannot walk.” The Prophet turns to the direction of the commotion. Is this the signal that he has been waiting for? That desperate cry of ‘never-mind-what-others-think’ true faith. Just like the friends of the paralytic in the Bible – so what if they were making a hole in the roof of a stranger’s home? It was the only way to God’s Healing! “In the Mighty Name of Jesus, be healed. Come, walk.” And walk, hop and run, they do. Many are instantly cured of their infirmities and their now suddenly useless wheelchairs, crutches and body braces are held aloft by TB Joshua’s evangelists for all to see and rejoice with them.

Next, that dramatic call for deliverance from evil (snake) spirits. “In the Mighty Name of Jesus, come out!” commands the man of God. At once their humans whose bodies they had been inhabiting begin slithering, writhing, vomiting, foaming, shrieking and fainting! Generational curses are broken and families set free. Spirits of immoralities, ghosts and assorted animals are called out. Sharp words of knowledge are also issued, “You used to beat your wife! Repent and believe in Jesus as your Saviour. Then you will be healed. If you do not repent, then the healing is only temporary. It will not last.”

Throughout the ensuing chaos, the Prophet constantly exhorts that we should “rejoice not that evil spirits submit to you but that your names are written in the Book of Life”. “If you are healed by God’s Word, if you are delivered by God’s Word, you must be ruled by God’s Word. You must make God’s Word the Standard for your life,”

Member: “Good thing I’m outside watching on video! Better not get too near! Is what they’ve got contagious? He won’t come to the car park area, will he?” “I am not the Healer. It is Jesus Christ who heals. I am not the Deliverer. It is Jesus Christ who delivers. I came today not to conduct a big meeting. I came just to bring a greeting. Just to visit my friend, Derek and his church. I promised him when we met in Lagos that I would like to come to this church. I am in Singapore all week this week, at the Stadium tomorrow and Tuesday night. If you are in need of healing or deliverance, come meet me there.”

With that, he moves outside. Outdoors at the carpark and plaza area, onto the rough granite road, hard cement floor and damp grass, under the marque, in the glare of the noonday sun, those he touches falls under the power of God as they are revived, restored or delivered. No need for carpeted flooring, aircon or piped music anymore. And then, just like that, he is gone.

Monday, 27th November 2006. 4 pm
The word is out. A miracle-working prophet is at the Indoor Stadium for two nights. His ministry will jettison the final piece of DNA into place for Singapore’s God-given heritage as an antioch to take off. The first two characteristics of being a community of multi-cultural churches as well as a missions base, have already been fulfilled. All day long, a dreary drizzle. In spite of that, snaking queues at entrances to the Indoor Stadium start to form. The sick have arrived in droves, on their portable beds with waiting ambulances nearby, in wheelchairs, carrying collapsible chairs or leaning in the arms of their parents or friends. Many are not local, having come from a slew of neighbouring countries from Sri Lanka to Sarawak. When the doors finally open at 7 pm, every level except the upper-most level of the stadium, fill up in minutes.

In front of the stage are seated those wearing number tags. They had been interviewed prior to the rally by a ministry team and either their physical or heart conditions had won them their front row seats to the supernatural action. Ebullient praise and strident worship, in four languages – English, Mandarin, Tamil and African-English – begins to rock the stadium. Two hours later, the place is saturated with God’s glory when the Man of God finally sweeps in after 9 pm.

Audience member: “The programme notes says this event closes at 10 pm but the prophet’s just arrived. What time will this meeting end?” The prophet throws his challenge to the Spirit-charged crowd, “Jesus Christ could not perform miracles in his own hometown because the mind of the people there were not at their best to receive. Are you ready to receive?” As the crowd roars in the affirmative, the demons that have possessed some of them begin to jump out of their skins! As the Prophet throws himself into healing the sick first, demons just cannot help but manifest and tremble as he passes by their human hosts.

“NO NO Nooooo, I want you to GO AWAY,” shrieks a lady in yellow who has fallen at the Prophet’s feet. She hisses at him that she is a lizard and flicks her tongue in and out of her mouth. “Who are you? Come here! Get out! Without deliverance we would be wasting time here. We need to arrest these (spirits) and put them into perpetual lock or they will mock us!”. The Man of God explains as he deals with her and keeps on plunging deeper into the milling crowd on the ground. When he eventually slips out, it is 1 am.

Tuesday, 28 November 2006. 5 pm
Usher to queue outside a stadium entrance, “I am sorry to inform you that the doors will only open at 6 o-clock today.” Member of queue: “Come on, brother! Yesterday you announced that the doors would open at 5 pm today. That’s why I’ve brought my auntie, on crutches, at this time. How long do you expect her to stand? Too much!” (The doors eventually open at 5.30 pm.) Member of the audience, 6 hours later: “Hey look, it’s that man who was loudly complaining because of his crippled aunt. Wow! Look at him somersaulting down the steps to the Prophet’s feet. You mean he was possessed? Wah, so loud, his wailing!”

There is no escaping the Man of God who can “see” demons. He is pointing and calling them out from across the stadium even as their human hosts cringe and try to scamper away from him. When they do, his ministry team charges across the venue from left to right and up and down the steps, after them. Eventually they are all carried down to centrestage which has become a war zone of writhing, rolling, foaming-at-the-mouth bodies amidst a tangle of chairs and wheelchairs.

What a God we have to worship! What a Son we have to praise! What a future lies before us!

However, it is not everyone who is entitled to that touch from God. Says TB Joshua to the husband of a couple stricken with AIDS, “You see what you have done to your wife (weeping) with your women!” “But, I didn’t know,” objects the husband. Replies the Prophet, “You are a conscious sinner – one who knows what sin is but does it and makes excuses for his actions – and if you don’t repent, you will not receive a lasting healing.” The man who had to go home without his healing had been interviewed, given a number and a front row seat, together with his wife.Yet, he had not received prayer. “It is better to deal with sin, the source of your problem than to run after the Man of God for a solution,” the Prophet had preached earlier in the evening. “If you want a lasting solution, are you prepared to go to the root of your problem and be ruled by His ways?”

Then comes 39-year-old Margaret Tan, who had been possessed by the lizard spirit from the previous evening. With her young daughter in tow, she throws a bag of sleeping and nasal medicines on the ground. She gives her testimony and praises God that the morning after TB Joshua had prayed over her, she had woken up without having a headache or murderous thoughts toward her little daughter anymore! “She’s free” indeed, just as the Prophet said.

Epilogue
Audience member to another: “Phew, finally, he is gone. I have never seen so many people healed and delivered at one time. Quite embarassing, when he accused that old man of beating his wife.” His friend: “This kind of talk can offend some people you know. Will there be more of this type of prophet thing happening at COOS and in Singapore nowadays? Better talk to my cell leader about it. Can take some gettting used to but if this is really a move of God, I had better get started because who can afford to move out of the blessings and will of God? Good night. God Bless.”
